ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]
CHAPTER 62: GODLY FOCUS[You have chosen the Mythical Phoenix]
Barely a breath had passed after the message appeared when the temperature around him rose sharply once more. Yet Kael felt no discomfort. Instead, he felt warm, as the heat appeared...
'Gentle?'
He couldn't quite describe it with the proper word.
Crimson flames suddenly spread across his vision, a sharp cry soon echoing within his mind.
- SKRREE!
A grin flashed across Kael's face. Every disgruntlement he felt disappeared for the moment, as he awaited his new partner.
'Me and you shall accomplish great things. With me on your back, as we soar through the skies, no one... absolutely no one shall stand against...'
The thought had barely finished when the crimson flames before him suddenly swirled together, forming a vortex of fire that caused the surrounding air to distort.
The pressure radiating from the flames was immense and overbearing, and the aura they exuded felt ancient.
Kael's eyes narrowed as he saw a silhouette appear within the flaming vortex.
A proud neck.
Wide wings.
A regal figure that seemed forged from divine fire.
Kael subconsciously held his breath. 'This is it... my path to the peak is now clear. We will...'
'Huh?'
Kael's mind almost short-circuited when he saw the figure that stumbled out of the flames.
At this point, the others had half of their concentration focused on him, as they battled against the undead.
A tiny chirping sound echoed out.
Before Kael stood a small chick no bigger than both his palms combined. Its fluffy body was covered in crimson flames, the fire flickering softly around it without burning anything nearby. Its tiny golden claws tapped lightly against the ground, while its round ruby-like eyes blinked innocently at him.
Atop its head was a miniature crown of flames, barely visible beneath the fiery plumes sticking upward.
The creature chirped once more before lunging at Kael.
Only for it to be caught roughly by the scruff.
- CHIRP?
Looking at the cute and adorable figure before him, Kael felt his head almost swell and explode from anger.
Thrice now.
This was the third time Kael felt the system had scammed him.
He was almost tempted to crush the neck of the creature in his hand. Feeling his emotions spiraling out of his control, Kael subconsciously activated his newest skill, Godly Focus.
Suddenly, the world quietened down.
Every emotion Kael felt seemed to disappear without a trace, his dark-as-night eyes now glowing with a deep blue light. Unlike the eerie-looking eyes of the crawlers, Kael's eyes looked mesmerizing.
He shifted his gaze back to the creature in his hand, and this time Kael felt nothing.
No anger.
No disappointment.
And not a shred of regret.
There was nothing.
He ignored the adorable sight of the creature tilting its head, its ruby-like eyes widening like a wronged child, and focused his mind inward.
'I feel powerful.'
Kael had never felt as strong as he did at that moment. He felt like he could punch through a mountain, and crush any steel with his bare hands. It felt as if his consciousness had risen above his body, and reality appeared unbearably slow around him.
Not knowing if what he felt was real or not, Kael brought up the details of his new skill. He was sure that if he wasn't already under the effect of the skill, he would have screamed in surprise at what he saw.

.....
Despite what he saw, Kael's gaze remained placid. Time itself seemed to stretch around him. His thoughts moved with terrifying speed, one after another layering endlessly without confusion or delay. Calculations, trajectories, possibilities, weaknesses... information flooded his mind like a collapsing dam. He could hear his own heartbeat, each pulse sounding like thunder. He could feel blood moving beneath his skin, feel the tension in his muscles, feel the shift of air pressure around him. He felt like the world was in his grasp.
He was currently under the effects of the first activation, and he already felt so powerful. What would then happen if he used the second activation? He only spared that thought a moment before discarding it.
Kael carelessly flung the creature in his hand to the side without any emotion, almost as if he was tossing away trash. Then he erupted into action.
The chick cried in surprise at such treatment. Luckily, before it could land, two small but soft hands caught it out of the air.
"Whoa!" Rose exclaimed as she studied the creature in her grasp, but the chick still had its eyes trained on Kael's streaking figure, two drops of tears at the sides of its eyes.
Rose had barely held the chick for a second, when a second set of hands snatched it out of her grasp.
'Huh?' Rose pouted as she watched her best friend's actions.
Sophia held the small chick gently, and as if it could feel her emotions, the chick turned its head towards her.
A second passed as golden and ruby eyes locked.
"So cute," Sophia suddenly said as she drew the chick into her embrace, beside rubbing its feathers gently. The chick chirped at her comforting touch, its intelligent eyes still looking aggrieved.
Rose shook her head, before giving up on snatching the chick back from her friend. She had never seen her so active before. She turned her focus back to the battlefield, only for her eyes to widen at the carnage her big brother was unleashing.
