Kael watched as the two crawlers barreled forward in his direction. It was almost as if the world zoomed out around him, his only focus being those two abominations approaching.

Here he was standing at a crossroads. The very first time he had faced an elite zombie, he had almost died and that too, when they had matching levels. Now however, two elite undead thirteen levels above him were hurtling towards him.

And yet, the thought of running never even crossed Kael's mind. Sure, he had never actually been able to face a rare-rank undead one on one without being close to death. It must be remembered that the leech zombie had taken their entire group to conquer, and he had almost died when its true body had revealed itself. And that was only a rare-rank zombie.

Still...

Golden flames exploded around him before retreating and forming a regal coat of golden fire that framed his figure perfectly. The flames draped around him like a monarch's mantle, flickering with a savage majesty.

'I am not the same Kael.'

He didn't wait for them to reach him. He didn't want to put his group in danger. So once he felt they had left the purview of the battlefield enough, Kael erupted into motion, a cloud of dust kicking up from his initial position.

His two eyes were like orbs floating in the air, leaving blue streaks in his wake.

At the same time he rushed forward, a part of his mind focused on his status page, specifically on his stats.

STATS:

Strength: 28

Agility: 26

Vitality: 21

Mind: 27

Energi: 75/75 (Unique)

Stat points: 60

Since the beginning of the night event, he was yet to use any of his free stat points. He had planned to keep them in case of emergencies outside of the night event. But with the current development, he could no longer hold back.

With Godly Focus, he didn't need to worry about his mind stat. Despite his screen showing he only had 27 mind stats, Godly Focus effectively made it as potent as having about 68 stats in it.

So he turned his attention to his other stats. It was a pity he could only add points into natural stats, if not he would have only dumped his free points into his Energi stat.

It barely took him a split second to make a decision.

'I don't need vitality for now. I don't plan on getting touched.'

His thoughts made, he dumped 25 points into strength, and the remaining into agility. A warm surge instantly coursed through his limbs as power flooded his muscles. Veins bulged faintly beneath his skin, while every strand of muscle fiber tightened and compressed as though reforged under invisible hammers. His body felt lighter, faster, stronger, like a beast finally shrugging off its restraints.

Now his stats appeared like this.

STATS:

Strength: 53

Agility: 61

Vitality: 21

Mind: 27

Energi: 75/75 (Unique)

Stat points: 0

With his gauntlets, he now had 58 strength. These stats, if shown to an outsider, would blow their mind. They were already comparable to a weak First Order's, and this was when he was only at level 11. Not to mention his Energi under Godly Focus effectively granted him 225 temporary stats.

'I am ready.'

Kael's already focused mind reached an all-time high. Three words echoed in his mind.

'Forge your strength!'

The two monsters blinked forward once more. At the same time, Kael blurred in the midst of their materialized frames.

His coat flapped loudly in the wind, as Kael planted a strong foot down, his toes squashing the small rubble and digging into the soft soil for purchase. At the same time, the weight of his hips dropped and his torso tensed. All of his former forward momentum was transferred perfectly into his fist, a pulsing might transferring from the base of his foot to the acceleration of his arm.

"Ignition Fist!"

- BOOOM!

One of the crawlers didn't even realize when a figure appeared beside it. The next thing it knew, a massive force collided against it, scorching golden flames engulfing its frame.

It roared at the same time it was sent flying, and the smell of cooked meat drifted into the air.

The second crawler quickly blinked away, its eerie eyes focused on Kael before suddenly glowing.

Kael was prepared for whatever mind illusion the monster would launch against him. He didn't forget he had been caged in one earlier today, when his Primordial class was almost said to grant him perfect immunity against such attacks. Though, he had some conjecture on why it had happened, he couldn't be too sure.

The second crawler roared, its blue eyes glowing so brightly that they lit up its front. They contrasted against Kael's deep glowing eyes, and it was as if two ancient predators were staring each other down beneath the night sky.

Yet despite a second having passed, Kael felt nothing.

It wasn't that the mind attack had smashed against his defenses and he resisted.

He literally felt nothing.

Despite the thoughts churning within his mind, Kael blurred forward, entering the monster's personal space, as his left gauntleted fist rose upward like a sea serpent rising from the oceans and into the sky.

"Ignition Fist."

He had no intention of tangling with these monsters. He wanted to finish this fast and swiftly.

Alas, an elite zombie was still an... well, elite zombie.

The creature blinked away into safety before the attack could connect.

Kael didn't mind his skill going to waste. Under the effect of Godly Focus, his Ignition Fist only consumed one Energi. So he could still afford some wastage.

However, despite the creature's strength being cut in half against him, as its mental attacks had no effect on him, he realized the battle would still not be easy.

The air behind him suddenly moved slightly. But to Kael, whose mind had been brought to razor focus, it might as well have been an alarm bell screaming in his ears.

Kael lowered his body, his right hand placed on the ground to support him, just in time to escape the outstretched mouth of the first crawler he had sent flying clamping shut above him without any purchase.

With his position a bit compromised, Kael could only settle for the next method of attack.

'This will hurt.'

The monster's body was just lunging forward from its momentum when Kael instantly rose back to his feet, the top of his head colliding with the creature's lower jaw.

- BANG!

- ZING!

A loud ringing sound almost overwhelmed Kael's senses but...

'Forge your strength!'

Those three words brought him back into focus just in time to sway to the side and escape the claws of the second crawler.

The trio wove around each other, appearing and disappearing on the battlefield.

In order to keep up with the creatures' quick blinking abilities, Kael had no choice but to start boosting his agility with his Energi. Luckily, Godly Focus had already cut the regeneration rate by half, which wasn't much help at the moment, but any help counted.

The deadly dance continued for several minutes, the two crawlers roaring in pain and anger as Kael's attacks fell on them anytime he got the opportunity.

Despite not having bony armor, the creatures possessed monstrous vitality. Their flesh was unnaturally dense, like rotten steel wrapped beneath layers of decaying meat. Even after suffering blows powerful enough to shatter concrete, they continued charging forward as though pain meant nothing to them.

As for himself, he was yet to suffer any damage.

The credit for which could only be given to Godly Focus. Despite how fast the creatures moved, his perception could keep up, even though barely.

It was then another change occurred.

Kael noticed the crawler he had seen entering the main building suddenly appear. It roared before charging straight at him.

Kael's eyes narrowed.

One crawler had already pushed him to his limits.

Now there were three.
