I leaned against the wall, looking at my cute, but terrifying bodyguard. A bright, genuine smile spread across my face. "Honestly, Val... just hearing you say that makes me feel completely safe."

The moment those simple words left my lips, Val’s rigid posture subtly softened. A faint, unmistakable trace of quiet satisfaction and genuine happiness flickered across her features, making her violet eyes shine.

"I’m glad," I continued softly, resting my hands in my pockets as I took a half-step closer to her. "You know... my trip to Uruk with Grandfather yesterday wasn’t just a tour. It was actually for my official Sovereign Deck awakening."

Val didn’t show a single shred of surprise. She simply gave a polite, approving nod, her voice firm. "You possess the supreme Astral Soul Origin. You deserved nothing less than a Sovereign Deck."

I smiled warmly at her, looking straight into her eyes. "Well... I was wondering, Val... if you’re willing... I would really love to add you as an official cardholder in my Sovereign Deck."

Freeze.

Val went completely rigid.

Her breath hitched sharply, her wide violet eyes staring at me in total shock. For three long seconds, the usually terrifying, hyper-capable shadow reaper couldn’t even manage to form a single coherent sentence.

"S-Seth...?" Val finally stammered, her stoic composure shattering into complete, chaotic panic. "P-Please do not joke about such things! A position within a Sovereign’s Deck is an extraordinarily sacred bond! It grants immense power and shared authority! You... you must be extremely careful and selective about whom you invite into your card slots."

I tilted my head, putting on a fake pout. "Are you rejecting me, Val?"

"N-No!!" Val gasped frantically, her face flushing bright red as she shook her head vigorously. "I would never!! It would be the absolute highest honor of my life to serve in your Sovereign Deck! But—"

"No buts," I interrupted smoothly, stepping closer and offering her a warm, resolute grin. "I’m more than happy to have you in my deck, Val. In fact, there’s nobody else I’d trust more to hold one of my card slots."

Seeing the unwavering determination in my eyes, realizing that I wasn’t backing down or joking in the slightest, Val took a deep, shaky breath.

SWOOSH.

In a single, fluid, intensely formal motion, the elite bodyguard dropped onto one knee before me on the wet cavern floor. She bowed her head deeply, her hands resting over her heart as her voice echoed through the chamber with profound devotion.

"I accept your bound invitation, Sovereign Seth," Val declared, her voice trembling slightly with overwhelming emotion. "I swear upon my soul and my shadow... I shall serve as your impenetrable shield until the day I die!"

Anyone looking at her face right now could see she was practically bursting with unbound happiness.

I let out a soft, amused chuckle, scratching my cheek. "Whoa, whoa... slow down a bit, Val. There’s actually one major condition you need to know about before you officially join my Sovereign Deck."

Val raised her head, looking up at me with unwavering resolve, her eyes shining brightly. "I do not care what the condition is, Seth! I will execute any order, complete any trial, or sacrifice whatever is required."

A wicked, playful smirk spread across my face as looked down at her. "The condition is pretty simple, Val... I am planning to only bind my wives into my Sovereign Deck. Which means... my Sovereign Deck is going to double as my personal harem."

Val froze on her knee.

She blinked once. Then twice.

It took her brain a solid four seconds to process the sentence. Slowly, the true meaning behind my words sank into her mind, and her violet eyes widened in absolute, catastrophic disbelief.

"Wait... w-wives...?" Val squeaked, her face instantly exploding into a flustered, flaming crimson flush. "H-Harem...?"

Before she could process the absurdity of the revelation, I took a step forward.

SWOOSH.

Now it was my turn to drop onto one knee on the limestone floor, bringing my face directly to her eye level. I extended my hand toward her, looking straight into her wide, panicked eyes with a warm, earnest, deeply affectionate expression.

"Valerie..." I asked softly, my voice rich with genuine warmth, "...will you do me the honor of becoming my girlfriend?"

CRITICAL HIT.

Val’s brain completely short-circuited.

She remained on one knee, her body locked in total paralysis, her stoic guard persona completely obliterated into microscopic dust. Her mouth slightly parted, her violet eyes blinking blankly as if her internal processing unit had just suffered a blue-screen error.

[Val.exe just crashed, nyahahhah!]

I let out a low, genuine laugh at her adorable reaction, keeping my hand extended toward hers.

"Honestly... I’ve been thinking about asking you for a while now," I explained gently, a soft smile resting on my lips. "I could tell you weren’t fully ready before, so I held back. But seeing how much we’ve grown together... and knowing that we’re leaving for Avalon Academy soon... I realized I didn’t want to wait another second."

I held her gaze, my tone turning deeply sincere. "You have complete freedom to say no if you don’t feel the same way, Val. But... I seriously hope you say yes. Because I really, really like you."

Val finally broke out of her stunned trance. She desperately tried to summon her usual stoic, high-society bodyguard expression to regain control of the situation, but failed so spectacularly that her cheeks only burned a deeper crimson.

She swallowed hard, looking down at my extended hand, then back up into my eyes with a flustered, trembling murmur. "S-Seth... is this... is this proper? What about Lady Yerin? Or Lady Yoona? Wouldn’t they... wouldn’t they be upset or mind if I accepted...?"

I rolled my eyes playfully, giving a dry chuckle. "Are you kidding me? Yerin and Yoona would literally cheer and throw a party if they heard this. Trust me, those two chaotic twins already know how much I like you, and they’ve probably been waiting for me to pull you into our group anyway."
