Hearing my straightforward response, the tension in Sarah’s posture visibly melted away.

She let out a long, quiet breath, her shoulders dropping as she leaned back against her armchair. A faint, embarrassed flush touched her cheeks as she pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose.

"Thank you, Seth," Sarah murmured, offering an apologetic smile. "I... I apologize if I sounded overly defensive or intense just now. I’ve had some particularly bad experiences in the past regarding status, expectations, and raising Dylan as a single mother. It made me instinctively build walls whenever personal relationships come up."

"You don’t need to apologize for protecting yourself and your son, Sarah," I replied, shaking my head. "That’s just you being a great mother."

I paused, looking at her with a slightly firmer, warmer expression. "But with that being said... you really shouldn’t look down on yourself like that."

Sarah tilted her head, looking at me with mild surprise.

"You talk about status, age, and being a single mother as if those things diminish your worth," I said. "The truth is, you are an extraordinarily capable, smart, and gorgeous woman. Any man with half a brain would be genuinely lucky to have someone like you by his side."

Sitting on my lap, Yerin turned her head and nodded vigorously in agreement.

"Seth is totally right, Sarah!" Yerin chimed in, her dark eyes shining with genuine affection. "Do you want to know a secret? Back when I first interviewed managers to handle my career, I didn’t pick you just because of your impressive résumé. I was actually super envious of you."

Sarah stared at Yerin, her jaw slightly dropping in astonishment. "You... you were envious of me?"

"Of course I was!" Yerin giggled, gesturing animatedly with her hands. "You were so composed, so beautiful, and you handled high-pressure chaos like a total boss! I looked at you and thought, ’Man, I want a cool, stunning big sister figure like her to run my life!" That’s why I hired you on the spot."

A soft, genuine laugh escaped Sarah’s lips, the remaining stiffness in her expression dissolving at Yerin’s energetic praise.

"And as for the age gap you brought up.." I added with a dry chuckle, "...it’s barely a ten-year difference. I’m in my early twenties, and you’re in your early thirties. That’s practically nothing. On top of that, you don’t look old at all, Sarah. If we walked down the street together right now, people would just think you’re a high-end model taking a walk."

"See?!" Yerin grinned, patting my chest. "Even my boyfriend thinks you look like a big sister instead of an older woman."

Sarah rubbed her forehead, letting out a soft, helpless sigh, though a bright, warm smile rested on her lips. "You two are too good at flattery."

"Match made in heaven!" I patted Yerin’s waist, giving her a gentle nudge. "Hold on a second, goblin."

Yerin happily slid off my lap and took a seat beside Yoona on the main couch. I stood up from the sofa, walked across the short gap between the tables, and sat down directly beside Sarah on her plush armchair.

Before she could react, I reached out and gently took her right hand into mine. Her hand was warm and slightly trembling, but soft. I gave her fingers a steady, reassuring squeeze.

Sarah looked up into my eyes, her breath catching slightly as she took in my proximity.

"Sarah..." I said softly, my voice rich with quiet sincerity, "...don’t worry so much about Dylan being isolated or dragged into trouble."

Her dark eyes locked onto mine as she listened attentively.

"He isn’t alone anymore," I told her firmly. "And neither are you. I genuinely like the little guy. My mother, Alice, practically adopted him on the spot in the skybox today and showered him with love. Val likes him, Yerin loves him, and our whole family is more than happy to welcome him into our circle."

I looked at her warmly. "Unless, of course... you actively want to stop him from having a big, supportive family."

Sarah’s eyes softened. She immediately shook her head, her voice carrying an unmistakable maternal warmth. "No... never. I could never bring myself to take away Dylan’s happiness or isolate him from people who genuinely care about him. Watching him laugh and play today was the greatest gift anyone has given me in years."

"Then that’s all that matters," I said with a smooth smile. "If Dylan and you are going to be connected to my family anyway, all those high-society status boundaries and social rules become completely meaningless. Nobody in my family cares about those fake political lines, and neither do I."

I gently patted the back of her hand, looking straight into her eyes. "If there ever comes a time in the future when you and I decide to pursue each other... I want you to make that decision entirely for yourself. Not because of society, not because of status, and not because of past scars. Just because it’s what you want."

Sarah sat there in the armchair, staring deep into my eyes as my words echoed in her chest.

For years, she had carried the exhausting weight of

single motherhood alone-constantly building walls, guarding her heart, worrying about societal judgment, and putting her own emotional needs on the back burner for her son’s safety. Hearing a man look past all her barriers, validate her worth, offer a real family for her son, and give her total freedom of choice touched a place deep within her that had been cold for far too long.

Slowly, her dark eyes glistened. A single, silent tear spilled over her lashes and traced a path down her cheek.

"Seth..." Sarah whispered, her voice trembling slightly.

"Hey, don’t cry—" I began softly, raising my free hand to wipe the tear away.

Before I could finish my sentence, Sarah acted on pure, unfiltered emotion.

She leaned forward, cupping the side of my face with her free hand, and pressed her lips firmly against mine.
