I held the phone up to my ear, ignoring her desperate hand gestures as I spoke in a firm, authoritative voice. "Dad! Why are you pushing Val so hard?! She’s been working for two days straight without a second of sleep! She’s completely exhausted, and if you keep throwing security assignments at her, she’s going to collapse and get sick!"
Absolute silence fell over the receiver.
Three seconds passed, and not a single sound came through the speaker.
I pulled the phone away from my ear, staring at the screen in confusion. "Uh... Dad? Did you hang up? Is the signal bad?"
A light, amused cough sounded from the line. "I am still here, Seth," my father’s calm voice echoed smoothly. "I was simply waiting for you to finish your protective rant."
I blinked. "Oh."
"For your information, my son..." Julian chuckled quietly, "...I was actually calling Valerie to explicitly order her to go to her room and sleep for the next eight hours. If she refuses, I told her I would temporarily strip her of her head-of-security status."
My expression instantly went blank.
I slowly lowered the phone, turning my head to shoot Val an utterly smug, self-satisfied look.
Val let out a long, helpless sigh, facepalming right there at the table.
"Right..." I cleared my throat, turning back to the phone with a sheepish grin. "Sorry about the sudden outburst, Dad."
Julian let out a mild, booming laugh through the speaker. "Do not apologize for caring for your family’s guardians, Seth. Get some rest. We shall see each other tomorrow at the stadium."
"Will do, Dad. See you tomorrow," I said with a smile, hanging up the call.
Setting the phone back on the table, I crossed my arms, looking at Val with an expectant smirk. "So... what’s your decision now, Captain?"
Val looked down at her hands, a faint, embarrassed flush touching her cheeks as she finally relented. "I... am going to my room to sleep."
"Good girl," I grinned happily, pushing my chair back. "Want me to walk you to your room?"
The second those words left my mouth, Val went on absolute high alert. Her posture snapped back into a rigid line, her cheeks turning a bright, flustered pink as she took two fast steps back.
"N-No! That is completely unnecessary, Young Master!" Val stammered out, dropping into a quick, frantic bow. "I can walk myself! Goodnight, Seth!"
Before I could even offer another word, Val turned on her heel and practically sprinted toward the VIP elevators, her dark suit vanishing around the corner.
I stood near the dining table, scratching my cheek in utter confusion. ’What the hell was that about? Does she have something super secretive hidden in her room or something?’
[PFTTTTHAHAHA!] Paige’s voice instantly erupted inside my head, rolling in virtual hysterics. [Host, you really are completely blind when it comes to a woman’s blush! It’s hilarious!]
’Shut up, Paige,’ I replied, heading toward the private elevator to go upstairs.
As the elevator smoothly ascended toward the upper floors, Paige’s translucent interface flickered playfully in my vision.
[So... Seth,] Paige purred with a mischievous, teasing cadence inside my mind. [Are you actually interested in Yoona? You two were looking pretty cozy in that military transport earlier!]
A soft, genuine smile touched my lips as I leaned back against the mirrored wall of the elevator. "Honestly? Yeah. Yoona is gorgeous, smart, sophisticated, and exactly my type. I’m definitely interested in pursuing her."
[OHO?!] Paige practically squealed with chaotic delight. [Look at my Host acknowledging his greedy desires! So... are you telling me you’re planning on enjoying a delicious twin-sister sandwich in bed down the road?]
I rubbed my chin thoughtfully, a quiet, amused smirk spreading across my face. "Well... when you phrase it like that, Paige, it doesn’t sound bad at all. In fact, that sounds hot as hell."
[Fufufu~ That’s my Host!] Paige cackled happily.
DING.
The elevator doors slid open on the fourth floor. I stepped out onto the carpeted corridor, walking down the hall until I found room 444, the private suite Yoona had told me to visit earlier.
Reaching out, I knocked twice on the heavy dark wood.
Click.
The door lock automatically unsealed with a soft chime, swinging inward by an inch.
From deep inside the suite, Yoona’s smooth, captivating voice echoed softly. "Come in, Seth... make sure to lock the door behind you."
"Alright..." I murmured, stepping inside and turning the deadbolt until it clicked firmly into place.
I walked down the short entryway, rounding the corner that led into the spacious, dimly lit master bedroom. Warm, ambient starlight radiated from the ceiling, casting soft shadows across the plush furniture.
And the second my eyes landed on the massive king-sized bed in the center of the room... I froze dead in my tracks.
Sitting side by side on the silk duvet were both Yoona and Yerin.
They were wearing matching, dangerously provocative silk nighties-Yoona in deep crimson that accentuated her sophisticated, voluptuous curves, and Yerin in sheer midnight blue that clung tightly to her slender frame. Both sisters stared straight at me, their identical heart-shaped faces illuminated by matching, playfully seductive smirks.
To say I expected this would happen would be a complete lie.
I had imagined a lot of scenarios when Yoona whispered that secret invitation on the helipad, maybe a quiet high-society talk, a private family briefing, or even a subtle test, but seeing both twin sisters sitting on a king-sized bed in dangerously provocative nighties was definitely not on the list.
Composing myself with a smooth, amused smirk, I leaned back against the closed door, crossing my arms as my eyes swept over the two of them.
"Alright, ladies.." I chuckled, raising an eyebrow playfully. "...what exactly is the game plan here? Seducing me on day one?"
My question was mostly aimed at Yoona. After all, Yerin and I were already in a committed relationship, but Yoona and I had literally met a few hours ago inside a military helicopter.
Yerin let out a sweet, mischievous giggle as she slid off the silk duvet. She walked over to me, wrapping her arms tightly around my waist and pressing her soft, warm body against mine.
"Don’t sound so suspicious, babe," Yerin purred, looking up at me with bright, affectionate dark eyes. She unashamedly rubbed her plush chest against my shirt while my hands naturally slid down her back, resting on her waist before slowly cupping and fondling the tight, firm curve of her ass through the silk nighty.
Yerin rested her chin on my chest, her expression softening into something surprisingly earnest. "Yoona and I have had an unbreakable twin bond since we were kids. In a family like the Rothschilds, where politics and duty swallow everyone whole, we’ve always been each other’s anchor."
She gave my waist a tight squeeze. "The only reason I was able to run around creating chaos, living as ’Nova,’ and pursuing my dreams was because Yoona stepped up at home. She willingly took on all the heavy training, the endless lessons, and accepted the burden of becoming the official heir to the Rothschild family."
I looked over at Yoona, who was watching us with a calm, graceful smile from the bed.
"So..." I spoke softly, finishing Yerin’s thought for her, "...Yoona sacrificed her own freedom so that you could live as a free spirit."
Yerin stood on her tiptoes, pressing a sweet, lingering kiss against my lips before nodding with a bright, happy flush on her cheeks. "Exactly."
Yoona slowly pushed herself up from the bed. Her silk nighty clung to her mature, voluptuous curves as she walked toward us, her hips swaying with a slow, hypnotizing grace that seemed to command the room.
"And this silly girl wanted to repay me," Yoona chuckled softly as she came to a stop beside us. She shot a fond, teasing look at her twin. "Years ago, Yerin made a solemn promise to me. She swore that whenever she found the best, most handsome, and most incredible man in the world to marry, she would bring him home... so that I could marry him too."
I blinked, genuinely caught off guard.
Yerin offered a shameless, beaming grin, shifting slightly to the side so Yoona could step in close against my other side. Yoona didn’t hesitate, leaning her body flush against my arm, her rich, sophisticated perfume mingling with Yerin’s sweet lotus scent.
Yoona looked up into my eyes, her sharp dark eyes glittering with genuine warmth. "When Yerin first told me about that pact, I thought it was just a silly childhood dream. But over the years, I realized I liked the idea. I trust Yerin’s judgment above anyone else’s in this world. Sharing a life with the same man means we never have to be separated by high-society political marriages, and we get to stay together as sisters forever."
I looked between the two heart-shaped Korean faces staring back at me. "Wait... so both of you genuinely agreed to share a husband?"
"Of course," Yoona nodded smoothly, her lips curving into a captivating smile. "And the reverse was true, by the way. If I had found a worthy man first, Yerin would have joined us. But she beat me to it."
Yoona leaned in, her soft lips gently pressing against the side of my neck, leaving a warm, tingling sensation on my skin.
"I know we only met today, Seth.." Yoona whispered, her breath warm against my skin as she pulled back slightly and looked into my eyes. "...but I don’t want to just be your cousin. If you’ll have me... I want to be your girlfriend, too."
I looked down at the gorgeous, sophisticated red-haired twin standing beside my pop-star girlfriend. A warm, genuine smile spread across my face.
"Yoona..." I asked softly, a teasing spark in my eyes, "...what do you even like about me so far? We’ve only talked for an hour in a helicopter."
Yoona reached up, her slender, manicured index finger gently tracing the curve of my lips, her eyes softening into a sweet expression.
"Your smile," Yoona answered softly, her voice rich with sincerity. "When I asked you about Uruk in the transport... you flashed a smile that was so bright, so genuine, and so completely unburdened by high-society pretense that my heart literally skipped a beat. A man who smiles like that... is someone I want to stand beside."
A bright, genuine laugh escaped me.
I looked at Yoona, then at Yerin, whose dark eyes practically sparkled with triumph as she hugged my arm.
Without another second of hesitation, I wrapped my arms around both of their waists, pulling the stunning twins against my chest in a tight, affectionate embrace.
"Alright then..." I grinned down at them, a wicked, playful spark lighting up my eyes. "..looks like we’re having a party tonight."
