The red barrier of the Red Heaven Realm stood behind Alex when he teleported out of the secret realm. He had just handed over a million stars to the young man he had met as he gathered his 5000th star and then left the place. There were still 15 or so years left before the secret realm was to come to an end, and Alex wasn’t willing to spend any more time inside.
There had been people constantly coming out of the secret realm these days, so no one turned to check on him when he arrived.
Alex walked away from the place, looking around in search of anyone he could recognize. Were his mother and the others around at all?
There were people in the surrounding area, all friends, families, or elders of the Immortals who were inside. Several tents or houses had been raised in the location for the people to remain in. Some just stayed out in the open as they waited for the people inside to come out.
But there was still a lot of time.
Someone noticed him first, quickly coming over to him.
Alex stopped in his tracks and turned to look at the man who had arrived. Looking at him, Alex recognized the robe the man wore, which belonged to the Fang family.
"Are you Dawnblade?" the man asked. "The one who calls himself the Sun God?"
Alex raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected his name to have spread out here as well. He saw a glimpse of another person inside the house, who he remembered being part of the 33 Immortals that had targeted him.
He understood now how the man could have recognized him.
"Yes, I am the Sun God," Alex said. "May I ask who you are?"
"I am Fang Mujin, an elder of the Fang family," the man introduced himself. "I have been made aware of you from our juniors and what you have done. We have heard some incredible—"
"Don’t listen to him!" a woman came in with a loud voice. "The Fang family is not what you want to associate with. Our Han family is much better in that regard."
"Get away from here, Xumei," the previous man said, but the woman simply snorted and turned toward Alex.
Before Alex could get a word out, another person appeared. This time, it was a member of the Hidden Orchid Palace. He introduced himself just as the two previously had, asking if he perhaps would like to join their sect.
An elder of the Wandering Star Pavilion joined next, followed by two elders of the Jin family. After that, the commotion became big enough that people from all over surrounded them, trying to see what they were getting at.
Alex listened to each person and attempted to answer their questions.
"Yes, I am Dawnblade. The same one that the Storm God had been searching for until some time ago."
"Yes, I am part of a sect, though I won’t say which one."
"No, that’s not a lie. I am indeed part of a sect."
"Thank you for the offer, but I am not looking for a Dao companion."
As they talked, the people began to realize that Alex had no intention of joining any one of their sects or families. Still, he was far too big a person to just let go. They had to learn more, especially given what they had heard had happened inside the secret realm.
"Is it true that you defeated a Divinity of the Luo family?" the man from the Fang family asked.
The question made other members of the Luo family shrink a little before their eyes turned toward Alex with some level of hatred in them.
"That is true," Alex said. "Though that is not a fault of the Senior whom I fought. It could’ve been anyone else in his place, and I would’ve had the same result."
Several people raised their eyebrows at Alex’s mere audacity to claim such a thing.
"What makes you dare make such a claim?" someone asked. "Who are you to say you will win against any Divinity?"
"I am the Sun God," Alex stated out loud. "And if you think you can win against a God, let us meet again when I do reach the Divine realm."
Alex’s words had been gentle and polite until that point, but the proclamation he made just then changed the group’s impression of him quite a bit. It wasn’t a positive change, but it didn’t need to be.
Alex could tell they thought he was egotistical for saying what he said, but that mattered only until he proved them wrong. The seed that he was the Sun God had been planted in their minds. It would remain there for a long time, and when he did something to make himself renowned in the future, the seed would take root and grow.
That was another way to make people call him the Sun God.
Before things could go on any further, a powerful aura covered the entire area, causing the crowd to go silent suddenly. Alex and the rest looked up to see a figure in blue slowly float down to the ground.
"Reverend Riftblade!"
One person spoke the name first, and then everyone repeated it, realizing who it was.
The Sky God’s disciple landed next to Alex and looked around. "I’m sorry for breaking this up, but I must ask you all to leave my young friend alone."
"Is the Sky God’s cult laying claim to this young man?" one person asked.
"What relation does this young man have to the Sky God?" another person asked.
"Young Brother Dawnblade is not a part of our cult, but he is a guest of my master. If you wish to ask why that is, I would ask that you do so directly to my master," Riftblade said.
No one dared question the Sky God, so they remained silent.
"If there is nothing else, then I will be taking my friend away."
