Lind emerged from his seclusion to see a shocking transformation. There were now cities, farms, and various stages of life taking root but the scale was insane!
While cultivators could use their various skills to accelerate construction for mortals to an extreme, it took decades to properly refine materials and make structures that could withstand the strong auras that could flow off them.
His ships were a good example. While they were interconnected artifacts working towards a flying vessel, to contain the power of lower realm to higher realm cultivators required drastically complex preparation.
It took him centuries to make those materials if he was aiming for the highest quality and longevity. If it just needed to work, he could shorten it to a single century but it would need repairs constantly.
Still, it was true for the vast majority of craftsmen that preparation was half the battle. Proper tools also required time to maintain and make sure they were in prime condition depending on the project.
Weaving was an exception in that regard as engraving was the foundation and could be enhanced with materials afterward. Lind knew that alone, he could build a city like he was seeing but it would be thousands of years of work.
He had only be incapacitated for less than a decade!
Even if all the people he knew came together they could not build what he saw before him!
As he took in the various structures, his eyes narrowed. While some had the crimson, gold, and black he kept from his Clan days, others were very different. They were so different that he did not recall anything similar in the Divine Lands at all.
In fact, he saw materials that were not native to his hold. The answer became clear, he was seeing the frightening power of Eternal Realm cultivators.
They just casually built Divine Cities like they were cabbage!
Even now, despite gaining far better control of himself, he truly saw how far he had to go. A thought came to him and he summoned someone he had neglected due to his circumstances.
He had to get in full control soon!
"Finally awak–?!" The old man, Goldthorn, found him first unsurprisingly. The names were now in his head too. He was thankful for that as it spared unnecessary awkwardness later.
The old woman was Violet Cloud and her daughter was Spirit Call. She was actually a formidable artificer that left him far in the dust at the moment!
Goldthorn was frozen in shock as Lind was not hiding his current state. He should have been physically fit with a barely functional cultivation cycle. Yet now, he was quietly standing back at peak condition.
Such a recovery time was impossible by their standards as he now knew but even his alternate selves knew that was due to their own foundations. Once he grasped the basics, he could invigorate his own healing ability to help him.
"How–?!" Lind held up his hand and conjured his harmonic flames. They danced at his command but that was not all. He summoned resources from his ring.
A sphere of water did appear and while he extracted the intent from them for elixirs, he then crushed crystals and jade into dust before Forging 12 vials that shimmered with power.
He then began to engrave not only the vials but he also noticed the building behind him had none on it. His sigils were no longer golden but emerald!
He did all 3 production methods at once as if it was as easy as breathing!
Goldthorn was slack jawed as the processes completed and now a neat row of 12 elixirs that shifted between blue to violet and his simple house now had better defenses than any palace he had ever seen.
Even an Inheritance protection array would look meager compared to what he had just casually done.
"I have had some progress in some respects but I still have glaring gaps to fill in. I have no time to explain, just accept it and help me master my full power so I am not so lopsided." While it was an impressive display of his control, it was limited to his professions.
Goldthorn clearly wanted to wring out the information of how he had recovered and mastered his professions so completely! Even if it was only grade 9, it was still something that defied all logic!
"I am not so good at teaching. Sparring or even demonstration is one thing, but explaining is left in better hands. Come, we have been preparing for when you emerge." Lind was surprised. He put the vials away and followed the old man into the bonanza of construction.
As he had suspected, other Eternal Realm cultivators had taken up residence in his hold but it seemed they were honestly helping. They were guiding Divine and Immortal Realm cultivators.
At least, that is what some of them thought. Lind could see a few close companions smiling indulging at the far more powerful beings. The basis of their powers was flawed and his Divine Lands had long abandoned that.
Thus, they could recognize information based on that old information contrasted to their own. He had to suppress a smile as a Crystal Tier Immortal Realm demon was essentially sharpening his blades while nodding vaguely at the Eternal Realm demoness explaining how he could improve his combat Arts.
Goldthorn did not seem to notice but Lind knew the man was also very tunnel visioned when it came to combat. Anything outside his own skills, at least weaker than him, did not draw his eye.
The knowledge he had been granted was not exactly kind to the Eternal Realm cultivators. If he was being generous, they had clearly become too bored after achieving true immortality.
In that boredom, with the loss of the fear of death, they had treated existence as a given. They took for granted what so many suffered for. They treated lesser beings as objects rather than thinking beings.
They were not actually aware of it. The novelty of meeting true cultivators again was not lost on them entirely but his knowledge showed it was a brief flare up. It would pass and they would go back to their own pursuits.
At least, that had been true.
Nowhere in any of the knowledge given to him would they take up residence in anyone's hold! They would not be teaching, even going through the motions, like he was seeing.
Something had shifted. The Bastard had actually proven how vulnerable they really were.
The Eternal Realm had 2 tiers as he now knew, but their names were unknown. The currently most accepted level had been thought of as the goal. Until the Fiend method of consumption proved they could be murdered, the only way to die was by crippling due to self inflicted actions.
External damage was debilitating but would not put a scratch on their foundation.
Lind had to master his power to truly reach that level safely. He, however, could not feel that his potential could rise. There was a step beyond grade 9. It was not Eternal Grade, however. He found that odd. It was called Path Grade.
He felt like that was a result of their flawed foundations in the elements. His knowledge did not include how the Fusion Path had made elixirs but he could confirm his alternate selves had been able to reach something he would call Eternal Grade towards the end.
The main difference was in how no Eternal Realm could heal him. Something in how their power worked limited their options. Violet Cloud could help her daughter but only because they shared a bloodline.
The pair finally came to a barrier that was far more powerful than anything he had created. It was inside an open pavilion in a long stretch of plains.
Goldthorn was about to do some kind of unlocking action when Lind just stepped up. His eyes glowed and he stabbed with his fingers at a certain point.
The entire barrier collapsed!
Goldthorn and now a large crowd of Eternal Realm cultivators were locked onto him. Lind smiled and waved.
"I just wanted to get this out of the way. I need help with using the Mysteries I previously condensed and my harmony. Whatever else is not related to my Talents and my professions. As you can see, they work just fine." His move made it clear he was not as lost as before and made them take him seriously.
It was heavily noted that earlier incarnations had dealt with being treated like a child. They could see he was fighting their new enemy but they had believed he was as stuck as the rest of them.
It was only when the Fusion Path acquired Forging that changed. Lind could modify and create things they could use to defend and attack the Fiend. As he grew in power, the issues vanished but Lind knew they saw him as someone new.
He was not the Lind Frey they knew. He was not able to quickly resume the fight anymore. Thus, he had to demonstrate what would clearly be a waste of time. A Path Grade array had just been shattered like it was nothing under his strike.
A giggle then came from the crowd and he saw the demons were smiling. They respected power as always.
An Elemental man came forward and bowed low.
"I am Star Eternal. I have worked with your previous versions but even they could not so easily do what you just did. Please, what do you need to know?" The refined features were closer to a 6 Qi colored aether child but the shift revealed his true nature.
His square jaw and broad shoulders were in perfect proportions that only Celestials could match. Lind wondered if that was normal for them but pushed it aside.
He demonstrated what he had succeeded in and what he could currently do once more. The shocked faces increased yet he also felt something odd. It was like hope bloomed across the crowd.
It was contrary to what he had in his head once more. Truly, the brush with real death had broken the illusion. They had eternal life, until it was taken from them. That fact was laid bare so it seemed they were taking things seriously.
He hoped that attitude would hold. He then paid rapt attention as his lessons began.
