Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1855 - 1854 - Path and Intent

For the most part, Lind grasped the basics. Instead of absorbing and refining Qi from the world to make his own and layering Laws, Daos, or Mysteries on top of that, he was now the source.

He had to start in his dantian always yet he was only skimming the surface. Simple elemental power was his to command now. He was the most familiar with that and yet his efficiency was a joke too.

The knowledge given to him had strange gaps so now he had to learn what he was missing.

"I can see you have initial control at a stable level so you truly are ready to begin." Star smiled as he waved over a demon and a woman to join him.

The demon was heavily corrupted with twisted horns, tattered wings, and hooves instead of feet partially shown. Unlike the Akashic Physique, a corrupted demon that gave into more vile tendencies seemed to have a mockery of the powerful features even at the Eternal Realm.

The vividly blood red eyes were not full of malice but Lind did feel a chill just taking them in the pale lavender face. There was a dead world in those eyes.

The woman was a lithe figure and she reminded him of Shoti or other battle experts. Her close cropped red hair framed a deeply tanned face but there was no sign of scars or other damage from old fights.

Still, she slid across the ground and he noticed her fists were covered by dark gray gloves that seemed ready to shatter bone with ease. Her boots and closely wrapped legs swished in the open battle dress she wore. The fabric shimmered like chainmail to his eyes but his nose told him it was cloth.

What was that material?!

The pair bowed low to him. Their names were not in his head so it was either the first time meeting them or there was some other reason. Lind was about to ask when he frowned and looked around.

While things had been crazy and he had been fumbling in the dark not long ago, he realized a pair of well known men were missing.

"Where are the Eternal Twins?" Star froze as did the others. They would not look at him and he took a breath before realization sunk in. They were prominent in his knowledge granted to him.

Many of the materials were refined by them working with him. They were gone. They had died out of his sight either buying time or in some other battle he was unaware of.

He owed them so much and they were already beyond his reach!

He quickly scanned the crowd and several more names were gone. It made sense. The Bastard would target his strongest allies first. Lind took a moment and cleared his thoughts.

"Please continue." His serious face made the trio nod with approval.

"Bloodsight and Lightning Fist Eternal will help with our unique elemental situation. While both she and I are natural Qi, my process is very different from yours." Lind nodded yet would want it all.

He would look to find answers from all perspectives until it fit him. He felt that was the best approach.

"Lind Frey, it is an honor to meet you. You saved my hold as it was just attacked. I am hopeful to return that kindness." Lightning Fist cupped her hands and bowed low. Yet, Lind felt something off. Her words were not lies but there was a feeling of disdain he could not quite dismiss.

"Powerful attack! I wish to see you do it again and bring that vile creature intense pain as he is brought low!" In contrast, Bloodsight was much more straightforward. While violence laced every word, Lind felt there was no hidden dagger.

He then realized what he was feeling. The very same thing Goldthorn had warned him about was happening. The Eternal Realm had many hidden dangers for lower realms. Raw intent was now in his voice!

It would be like a mortal being exposed to an Immortal at full power! They would burst apart!

It was not disdain then, but something related to her path from what he understood.

He bowed back and the lessons began. At first it was simply demonstrations of their Arts and techniques. The former was not as helpful as a critical gap was missing yet the latter actually helped him!

His professions were closer to techniques being brought together for a certain purpose. His dantian stirred and the efficiency of his professions felt naturally lighter even with just precursor moves.

The trio saw his progress and realized his comprehension was as insane as always from their memories. Lind then came back to his issue.

"Why are my Mysteries and Arts locked away?" Smiles spread on all 3 of long familiarity.

"Heaven and Earth not here to hold your hand anymore. You have to do it yourself!" Bloodsight was blunt but it clicked in his head. His Arts were manifestations of Heaven and Earth created or manipulated by cultivators.

Of course his Arts would not work in their current state! It was also clear why the knowledge given did not have that piece of news in it. What worked for Fusion would fail for him.

His Storm Arts were totally different as none of his incarnations seemed to have helped others breakthrough as he had. They had tried, of course but they were focused on surviving. It was likely as lives compounded, the restart was more akin to a game save point in some aspects.

It was only a theory but he had confirmed from several pieces that the elemental theory he had crafted was different for the one the Fusion version had come up with.

It only worked for him alone and no one else.

Thus, the Storm Arts were his alone. Now that he grasped what he had to change, he could begin. It would not be too difficult in that regard yet he suspected it would be far from easy.

As if reading his mind the trio looked at him with nostalgia. He sighed as he was about to move on when Lightning Fist vanished from his vision! Considering how powerful his Eyes had become, Lind did not think that was possible.

The crack of thunder was heard long after a fist appeared right between his eyes. The glove sparked with lightning as well!

He had felt nothing! He still didn't despite being right in front of him!

"Arts are for lower realm cultivators. There is some enlightenment to be gained from adapting them, but for us, Intent and Path are the most important aspects." Her words were even more disdainful.

Lind realized she looked down at the world as everything was too slow! That was why she felt like that!

Bloodsight and Star blinked before realizing what had happened. The Elemental sighed but the demon laughed darkly.

"Good! You are worthy of your name!" Lind's eyes narrowed and he felt like something very bad was about to happen. Lightning Fist suddenly went pale and coughed up blood! "You are still too naive, however, against me!"

Shock crossed the human and Elemental but Lind grasped something that time. His hand moved and grasped her shoulder. Her color instantly improved and her breathing evened out.

Compared to last time when he purified someone, he saw what happened.

Life, Death, and Samsara had merged with his harmony! The Mysteries had merged and become part of his dantian and harmony in a new way! His mind was transformed to directly imbue his intent on it!

What they called the Path was his transformed harmony!

Compared to Bloodsight's attack, his healing move seemed to truly silence the trio. Lind was racing along his revelation and he waved his hand.

Shattered lines suddenly appeared everywhere around him.

He had never seen that before! Tapestry worked but was not connected? Why? He examined the fine threads before he realized there were far weaker ones directly connected to him and familiar.

He was seeing the former bonds between the Fusion Path and the others? Technically his soul was the same, so it was possible to see the broken connection. The network was also much smaller than the number of people around him.

Yet, why were none connected at all? The oddity stood out to him as even the trio he had just met had not even the slightest connection.

His dantian stirred and his mind moved as he felt something shift. The broken threads began to vanish! Fusion was gone and Defiance was his Path now.

There was something out there still. It was not Heaven and Earth but there was a binding force still above them!

Why was it not interfering? He had no answers at all but focused on the feeling of what was happening. The void that the next Fusion incarnation was to take was overwritten by him slowly and new threads began to faintly appear.

The instant they connected, he felt a kind of pressure lift from his shoulders. Eternal Realm cultivators were not to be underestimated! Even though Fusion was gone, his lingering power still loomed over him!

It would be like a Divine Realm fading yet their power lingered to shape where they fell forever!

Lind had to actively take action to move things ahead. He began to experiment and confirmed he was right.

His mind fused intent and his harmonic Path to create effects. Minor things were easy but touching on his former Mysteries seemed the wrong way. Treating them as 9 separate abilities was not reflecting the reality.

He had to train to master his Path and all the abilities that shaped it. He had a long road ahead!
