Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1867 - 1866 - Mind and World

Lind had been slowly filling the storm in his skull with what he once took for granted. He had always assumed updating his Arts, skills, and basic conjuring was about incorporating what the new level of Qi or energies required.

The Eternal Realm was a different beast entirely. Not only was the basic foundation a complete shift from anything comparable to any other realm, he learned that just recreating his external skillset once more.

His elixir mastery, Forging, and weaving were so integral to him that he had not noticed the need to not only recreate them, but to upgrade them as well.

His skull was slowly filling with fuzzy or partially created areas. Some were farther along but floated unlike the 3 profession areas.

His Harmonic Core still only had one dragon eye. It had been months but his progress was frustratingly slow. It was compounded by the fact that since he figured out what he had to do, his Path and Intent power had actually ceased working at all! The only things that still worked were his professions and his innate draconic abilities.

He could transform without an issue and his right eye resumed the dragon vertical slit in his dragon body.

It had no effect on the Harmonic Core at all in that regard. As he started to fill his mindscape he noticed something.

The placement was not random. Even as the fuzzy objects drifted, they held to some pattern regardless of when he made them.

He felt like he had to grasp that concept as well or he might make a mistake as he worked on improving his various skills. The closest were the Storm Arts.

Unlike the chaos his skull had become, the Storm Arts had become a set of clouds and lightning with varying effects. He avoided his personal Harmonic Storm Art as it was too close to the power he could not remotely control.

He started with the more mundane versions that fell into support, defense, and attack. The three he focused on were middle of the road variants.

Vital Essence Storm was created to help in battle situations. It had a few issues, of course, as it could not distinguish friend from foe on its own. The Art required the cultivator to control every aspect but it was similar to healing Arts in that regard as it could be controlled.

He recalled the process and began to study what he needed. The concept was sound yet he could not seem to coalesce the individual storm. It could be made stronger but that was only a byproduct of Eternal Qi.

Like the Divine Realm, he had to add in the equivalent of Mystery energy in his current state, yet that was only 1 issue. The other was the way the Art worked.

Normally, any Art, conjuring, or skill was a combination of the cultivator controlling the flow of Qi in their bodies to reach a specific result and the external world to complete it.

In essence, Heaven and Earth would recognize an Art and support it if it acknowledged it. While his hold had a connection to Heaven and Earth, it was no longer the supreme authority.

He was the source of everything now. He could not simply improve the Art, but remake it entirely. Once he knew that, he picked it apart.

Wyndam had worked many years on the foundation of the Storm Arts. The core of each Storm was the same and then modified by a 6 elemental to conform to their harmony and balance.

It was highly adaptable but still relied on the basic theory of all Arts to work. The only major change had been a full elemental set being needed to make it work where none had ever required that before.

The adaptability had actually been a happy accident too! It had been the hope to make a start when they worked on it and stumbled onto a basic Art foundation that could be molded as they wished yet could not work without 6 elements all at once.

For them, at that time, it was a dream come true. Yet now, Lind found that same miracle was a huge obstacle. The adaptive feature critical to the Storm Arts was a restriction he could not keep any more.

It required the combination of the cultivator and the external world to function. In other words, the reason he could not settle the foggy Storm Arts was because he had to transform the foundation.

He focused on the Vital Essence Storm Art and stripped it down until the 6 sided core floated in front of him. It had been millions of years since he had seen it alone. It was the heart of the whole series and had even supported his insane Storm of Defiance Art.

It felt sacrilegious to discard what they had spent decades perfecting in the first Moebius Sect. Still, he smiled as he knew what Wyndam would say with his gentle smile.

[We need to scrap what is accepted and start from nothing to begin.]

Lind may have resolved the elemental theory but Wyndam had been the heart of the skills and Arts 6 elementals could use. The powerful cultivators all owed that man alone for what came after.

He dared to alter the genius creation he too had relied on for so long. He took a breath and the floating construct splayed open. He observed the patterns of Qi flow, external power absorption, and even the very adaptation factors. It was like seeing the ghost of his old friend.

He had always been able to see things even Lind's Talents could not. Lind then pulled on his Path and Intent power as his Harmonic Core moved.

The 3 came together and he seared out the external pieces and changed them. Everything would come from him. The previously stable structure pieces were now incompatible to the original ones.

Lind began to tinker with it and failed. It fully collapsed and he started again. Each time, no matter how he changed or adjusted what he needed, the Art foundation would fail.

There was frustration but he learned from each failure. He was not entirely correct about altering the external flows to purely from him. Path and Intent power was the source but he was still inexperienced in using them.

He needed help.

He opened his eyes and felt tired but not as badly as before. He took that as a good sign and shut down the weavings around his cultivation room. He emerged and saw a jade slip was left near the door.

His wives and friends had resumed their cultivation now that the hold had reached the stability needed for them to continue. He smiled as he knew they would likely find explosive growth for those that had not exhausted their potential.

Lysanna was an Immortal yet the hold might extend her life as the Eternal Qi had a vitalizing effect on them. She had actually gotten younger physically after only a decade living there!

He walked out and was surprised to find Spirit Call cultivating in a courtyard exposed to the open air. She was far more powerful than some he knew and the knowledge from his other selves confirmed that while she was not a combative type, only a fool would underestimate her.

He was about to move on when his Eternal Touch felt something. Lind let his Talent work and his eyes slowly widened. He recognized what was happening!

She had found her Harmonic Core!

Seeing someone else succeed was helpful but what followed made him move before a tragedy unfolded. He was not thinking, just acting. His own Harmonic Core reacted and a new fuzzy area changed to clarity instantly.

It slotted into place and his left arm became human as tendrils of harmonic Qi enveloped her body. The energies about to rip her apart became smooth and calm. He worked as she carefully settled her Harmonic Core and the danger fully passed.

Lind then pulled back and stared at his arm. He had reacted instinctively. His power to regulate other energies had come without issue. It was not an Art but a skill from his harmony long ago. He could heal, restore, and prevent issues of various kinds.

His storm was now 4 clear areas and the pattern began to make sense. He was building a world in his skull! His world!

"Thank you for your help, Lind Frey." Spirit Call's voice snapped him out of his trance but he was fine. He could still grasp what he realized and now had someone to talk about with it!

"I think you just proved both what is possible and the risks. We should talk to your mother or Goldthorn about that. Tell me how you did it as well." Her narrow face was split by her smile but it only made her more beautiful.

They were exchanging their experiences and Lind spoke on what he had learned about the next steps. His experience made her solemn as it was not easy. Her speciality, the essence of the spirit, was the key to how she found her Hamonic Core.

It was likely everyone else would truly struggle if not die trying to replicate it, but Lind felt there was a chance to improve their odds. He wished he had more time to make certain but his current goal was a higher priority.

With the new experience he knew what was wrong with his approach. He was trying to conform the Storm Arts to what he thought he needed but the Eternal Realm was simpler than that. His will was law in his own mind!

Rather than trying to upgrade the old foundation, he needed to build an entirely new one!

Putting action to thought, he examined the foundation of the Storm Arts once more and smiled. His dantian stirred as he began to build an entirely new foundation not just for Storm Arts, but all Arts.

Rather than depending on 6 elements, he built an adaptive foundation that would be sourced on the dantian of the cultivator. In other words, he discarded elemental Qi entirely and used Path and Intent power alone!

He still failed dozens of times but eventually, he figured out the right ratio and the foundation stabilized. He then conjured the new foundation for Spirit Call to confirm.

The instant she saw it, her jaw dropped and she was able to replicate it entirely! It required the Harmonic Core but it would be something others could study to improve as well!

Mind and World were now one!
