Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1868 - 1867 - Eternal Arts Reborn

Lind spent 2 years reworking his Storm Arts to the new foundation. It was a lot harder than he had imagined but once he got one, the rest were far easier. Yet, that was only the beginning.

The fuzzy figures were not clear so he expanded what he could do. Arts were complex effects that could be replicated with the right combination of elements and energies. Compared to techniques, like his Battle Aura, they had no clear limit.

The imagination was the limit! Lind created Weapon, Healing, and more Arts. It was a plethora of Arts he had struggled to ever recreate for 6 elementals!

He was in his fourth year when the various Arts combined and became a clear representation of his foundational Art. It changed his Harmonic Core's hair to the back length mane he had become used to.

His dirty blonde hair was now back on his body! His skull was only about a third filled yet he noticed the professions and the harmony skill sections had shrunk when the new one formed.

It told him things were still a long way off from being complete. What made him happier was now that the Arts and harmonic skill area were clear, he could use far more of his power than ever before!

Sadly, it also exhausted him quickly. He had to practice a lot more to make it both more efficient and truly master what he could do.

A single Storm Art should not leave him collapsed on the ground covered in sweat!

He had been about to start training when his weaving reacted to show someone wanted his attention.

He sighed but a break was not a bad idea after he had just achieved such results. It had been a random encounter with Spirit Call that led to his successful stretch of progress.

He stepped out and found an old ape sitting in the hallway. His fur was mostly silver and Lind could feel his draconic instincts screaming caution just looking at him.

He had no knowledge of the beast in front of him so he cupped his hands and bowed low.

"How may I help you, senior?" The ape smiled and his four limbs suddenly blurred. Lind reacted out of pure instinct to survive!

He dodged as much as he could but he had to block the rest. Oddly, his human limb withstood far more than his jade skin limbs. Lind could not keep up at all but his body held firm until the attacks just stopped.

The action clicked and he suppressed a sigh.

A battle maniac had come. Even at the Eternal Realm, battle maniacs still came for him!

"I am Shattering Fist Eternal." Lind knew that name and a cold sweat broke out on his back. He had not been exposed to his full power. Goldthorn had spoken of how horrifying the ape in front of him could be.

"What brings you to me, senior?" Lind remained polite but Shattering Fist frowned before his leg seemed to vanish before the stone floor shattered like it was glass! Lind had reinforced that with a weaving and it still could not resist!

"I am not one for your damned human false respect! It is earned and you have more than earned enough to be my brother!" Lind had a sudden flash of Sun in his head.

He wanted to just go back to cultivating right there! He had far more concerns and did not want yet another battle maniac pestering him!

A pile of jade slips were tossed at him. Lind quickly caught them and looked up confused at the ape. The large toothy grin seemed like he was ready to go to battle more than being happy.

"I heard you are trying to figure out how to adjust your Arts. Humans and demons are not what you need but fellow beasts!" Lind was about to retaliate when he froze.

Was that the issue? He was approaching his Arts solely by how humans and demons made them. He had never had an issue before but that was not how beasts or aether children did it!

They did not have to force their Arts, they were an extension of themselves! Further, that kind of mentality was far closer to the Eternal Realm process itself! Thought manifested directly!

Lind knew that was only 1 part of it but it cleared up his mind on his approach. He had been forcing it down what he was familiar with. He had to broaden his horizons.

The silver haired ape seemed to sense that his words had hit a mark. Before Lind could register it, a fist was coming at him!

He dodged it with long ease of the far greater reach trained into him by Sun. While it seemed successful, his instincts screamed at him after the fist was gone. A foot then slammed into his abdomen and sent him flying.

"You are too focused on the goal and not the truth. That creature is like that. He has sacrificed everything and lost all he could have been. You have done the same and your changes are the result." Lind paused as he let that sink in.

He had been so focused on Arts and his revelations it had blinded him. All his efforts to kill the Bastard were making his progress flounder as he prioritized his power. The toothy smile was no longer crazed at him.

Lind had underestimated him. He was a battle maniac but not as obsessive as the rest.

He thought that up until a staff slammed into his backside. He had felt nothing!

He turned to find a very serious Sun looking at him. The ape and monkey now stood facing him and Lind felt confusion until the pair moved in sync! How?! Sun was only a Divine Realm, so how could he keep up with an Eternal Realm?!

He had no time to grasp it as he was being attacked from what seemed like all sides! Fists and staff were like phantoms until his mind parsed what was going on.

The Shattering Fist Eternal was able to incorporate Sun into his Arts with ease!

He had been told and shown over and over that Eternal Realm cultivators could not easily interact with others but he had never seen them attempt it with lower realm cultivators!

It opened his mind and his harmony flared as he summoned a basic Storm Art. It had but one purpose, to disrupt!

The once harmonious flow of attacks broke down and Sun was stumbling around as his body could not keep up with the Eternal Realm cultivators anymore.

Shattering Fist Eternal looked surprised but then laughed as his own speed skyrocketed until Lind could not keep up at all. Compared to the previous attempts, it seemed like Lind was standing still.

His body was able to withstand it at first like before, yet he quickly felt pain spike as his organs and bones began to take damage! The ape was using an Art to bypass his skin!

He tried to perceive it but there was just no time! Lind then remembered what the ape had said. Arts were not so complicated as he made them.

Lind stopped trying to pick apart the Art being used and thought about what he needed. He needed to be stronger!

His scales flared across his skin but they did nothing. The defense was already high and the fist Art clearly ignored anything added by his scales. The mitigation function of his scales just were as good as air as well!

Lind then simply channeled his Path and Intent power through his Harmonic Core to defend. Power flowed through his meridians and his internal body became like rubber. Rather than trying to resist the force, he dispersed it!

The damage finally ceased but Lind felt a change instantly from Shattering Fist Eternal. The ape was so much faster than him! His skin was now being ripped apart like it was so much paper!

His slapdash defensive Art crumbled under the change as well. He was being too simple! Blood flowed like rivers off of him. Simply stopping the effects would not be enough!

He had to counter it!

His fists lit up and he began to mimic what was being done to him. He failed spectacularly but dragons were far more resilient than apes. His fists connecting led to Shattering Fist Eternal to finally back off at one point.

Emerald flames seared out without stopping his fists.

"FINALLY! You are learning how to fight like a beast!" Lind had no time to take in the words. He just wanted the ape to stop attacking him! He had been so focused on killing the Bastard that fighting other Eternal Realm cultivators had not occurred to him.

He had used his power as the owner of the hold to overpower but that was not the same as fighting.

Sun suddenly thrust his staff at him and his left hand reacted without thought. He grasped the staff and sent the monkey sailing far away.

It was instantaneous but Lind's Harmonic Core smiled wide as its hands began to move. The previous blur of the movements of the ape cleared up! He could see him!

Understanding flooded Lind! Beast Arts did not recreate nature at all. They enhanced the beast entirely from top to bottom!

Lind made his tail appear and added it to the fight. His body began to glow with emerald light as his Harmonic Core raced along with his moves. Shattering Fist Eternal no longer laughed or looked amused.

He became serious as their fists now hit nearly 99% of the time. Finally, his scales thickened at the last moment and shattered the ape fists like clay!

The ape was covered in sweat and collapsed but Lind no longer saw anything. His mind had opened wider and he looked at the corner of his mind that had become the heart of the Storm Arts. It was clear but it could be more!

His Harmonic Core danced and the area actually expanded! All 18 elements and more danced around the Storm Arts until a massive dragon appeared to be ready to make any Art he desired!

Lind fell to his knees but he was smiling! Eternal Arts were not upgrades at all! They were pure creations! They were truly reborn!
