Eternal Life: I Can Sell Everything

Chapter 209 - 206: Raging Fire, Burning Whose Broken Body

Song Ciwan held a rake in her left hand and a hoe in her right.

She swung the hoe, about to smash it down and kill Sha Si on the ground. But suddenly, the top of the hoe’s handle cracked open. A long, tooth-covered cord shot out from within, lunging straight for Song Ciwan’s face.

The cord moved with incredible speed. It was not only fast, but also silent.

If not for the recovery of her Power and the limited night vision it granted her, she would have been hit.

She immediately tilted her head and threw the hoe away.

BANG!

The hoe crashed down on Sha Si, who let out another miserable scream.

Song Ciwan stomped one foot onto the hoe’s handle, pinning Sha Si underneath it. With her other hand, she grabbed the thorny cord.

At the same time, she grunted in pain.

The cord was covered in thorns. The moment Song Ciwan’s hand touched it, the barbs pierced her skin.

Blood beaded and dripped from the wound. Song Ciwan let out a low shout and yanked hard. A shrill, bizarre scream echoed as she brutally tore the thorny cord in two!

Sha Si, on the ground, screamed in disbelief. "My Bloodthirsty Vine! You tore my Bloodthirsty Vine! How dare you? How could you? Aaargh, go to hell!"

Song Ciwan whipped Sha Si’s face with the broken cord and furiously rebuked him. "You scoundrel! You villain! Daring to break into Mr. Gao’s home to commit such atrocities—death is too good for you! As his student, I, Xin, am protecting him tonight. So what if I destroy this vile tool of yours?"

Her foot, heavy as a mountain, was planted firmly on Sha Si’s body, preventing him from turning over.

Song Ciwan added sharply, "Right here, right now, it would be perfectly justified for me to kill you on the spot! And you still dare to shout?"

Sha Si was defiant. Unable to move his body, he flailed his arms and legs wildly. Like a fish out of water, he flopped about, but it was all in vain.

His shouts grew louder. "So what if I shout? You ignorant outsider! You murderer! You idiot! You dare lay a finger on me? If I, Sha Si, die here today, I guarantee everyone in Huai Xi Village will never let you go!"

"No matter how strong you are, can you fight against dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people?"

"Huai Xi Village is a large village with a thousand people! We could drown you in spit! Kid, if you know what’s good for you, let your granddaddy go right now. I won’t press the matter. But if you dare touch me, I’ll make sure you die without a proper burial!"

He screamed and cursed, his voice not just intense but faintly crazed.

There was never any logic to be found in supernatural beings, and his madness seemed like an amplification of a living person’s malice.

The irony was that in the real world, some living people could be even more detestable and insane than any supernatural being.

Song Ciwan watched him calmly. She pressed down with her foot, and with two sharp cracks—

First, the handle of the hoe beneath her foot snapped. Then, underneath that, Sha Si’s spine was crushed.

More blood gushed out from under Sha Si, flowing so freely it almost formed a river.

Sha Si shrieked, "Ah! Ah! It hurts! You bastard, you dare to injure me!"

His spine was broken, but his limbs still struggled, and his screams remained shrill and loud. Clearly, a broken spine wasn’t fatal to him.

Song Ciwan then grabbed the rake with both hands and snapped it.

CRACK! CRACK!

The rake’s handle broke as well. Song Ciwan said, "Sha Si, you broke into a private residence, committed theft, and assaulted its occupants. Your crimes are heinous. Today, I will tie you up and wait for Mr. Gao to decide your fate, or we will deliver you to the Government Office together."

"There’s no need to shout; it’s useless. No matter how fierce you are, once you’re in the hands of the Government Office, your thousand-odd fellow villagers won’t be able to save you."

"They might be able to drown me, Xin, with their spit, but can they drown the Government Office?"

"Save your strength and accept your death!"

As she spoke, Song Ciwan pulled the sash from Sha Si’s own waist, then lifted her foot and crushed his sternum.

Sha Si’s screams intensified as he stared at Song Ciwan with a venomous gaze.

The Heaven and Earth Scale appeared, collecting several wisps of energy in succession: [Village Level Mysterious Ghost Spirit. Hatred, Fury, Fear. Three jin and nine taels. Exchangeable.]

[Village Level Mysterious Ghost Spirit. Hatred, Fury, Resentment. Two jin and three taels. Exchangeable.]

[Village Level Mysterious Ghost Spirit. Hatred, Fear, Terror. One jin and eight taels. Exchangeable.]

...

Having collected three balls of Mysterious Ghost Spirit energy in a row, Song Ciwan’s eyes lit up.

She immediately lifted her foot and broke both of Sha Si’s hands.

Sha Si screamed incessantly, "Aaaargh!"

[Village Level Mysterious Ghost Spirit. Hatred, Hatred, Hatred. Two jin and one tael. Exchangeable.]

[Village Level Mysterious Ghost Spirit. Fear, Fear, Fear. Two jin and five taels. Exchangeable.]

...

Just as Song Ciwan broke Sha Si’s left leg and was about to crush his right, a sound suddenly came from the main hall next to them.

It was Mo Hou’Er’s terrified shout. "Ah! No! Grandmaster Gao, this humble one didn’t mean it! Spare me, spare me! Ah—"

THUD!

It sounded like something had fallen over.

Immediately after, a searing wave of heat rushed over them.

Song Ciwan’s Power had returned. A deity leaped within her Sea of Consciousness. Although her Spiritual Sense was suppressed by the Deceitful Realm’s unique force field, making it less keen than in the outside world, she still had a vague premonition.

’The red candles in the main hall fell over!’

The fallen candles didn’t go out when they hit the floor. Instead, it was like fire hitting oil—no, this *was* fire hitting oil, literally!

BOOM—

Roaring flames erupted in an instant, broke through the wall, and in a flash, surged toward Song Ciwan by the black coffin like a tidal wave of fire.

In that moment, the terrifying heat singed the edges of Song Ciwan’s clothes and the acrid smell of burnt hair filled the air.

"Ah!" Sha Si’s eyes widened on the ground, all thoughts of his hatred for Song Ciwan forgotten.

His pupils dilated, and in the firelight, his eyes looked as if they were about to burst from the blood rushing to them.

Song Ciwan had no time to worry about breaking his other leg. She spun around and reached for Mr. Gao in the black coffin.

"Mr. Gao, your student will get you out of here!"

As the flames were about to engulf her, Song Ciwan, wreathed in thick smoke, bent over and slid her hands under Mr. Gao in the coffin.

She cupped one hand behind Mr. Gao’s neck and the other under the bend of his knees, holding him exactly as one would a child.

Of course, since Mr. Gao had the body of a child, there was nothing wrong with this way of holding him.

However, it was this very posture that caused Song Ciwan’s center of gravity to shift forward in an instant.

Mr. Gao suddenly opened his eyes inside the black coffin, tears welling within them.

"Father!" he cried. "Did you come to save me?"

His hands shot out and seized Song Ciwan’s arms.

An immense force surged forth. Mr. Gao yanked her from inside the coffin, and at the same time, the space beneath the coffin abruptly fell away into nothingness.

And just like that, Song Ciwan was pulled into the black coffin by Mr. Gao. As the coffin plunged into the Void that opened beneath it, she plummeted along with him into a deep, empty chasm.
