The first Sword-Club suddenly swung forward.

WHOOSH!

The enormous weapon swept across the courtyard like a collapsing wall, forcing the soldiers at the front to raise their shields.

The moment the weapon connected, their formation completely shattered as several men were thrown backward and crashed into the soldiers behind them.

BOOM!

Edgar didn’t wait for them to recover. It would be foolish to give them the upper hand.

The second Sword-Club moved from the opposite direction while the third descended from above, forcing the soldiers to scatter in every possible direction.

The fourth remained behind Edgar, silently floating in the air like a predator waiting for anything that tried to approach him.

"Spread out!"

"Don’t let those weapons hit us!"

"Attack him from the sides!"

The soldiers desperately tried to surround Edgar, but the four massive weapons made approaching him almost impossible.

Every time someone entered his range, one of the Sword-Clubs immediately came crashing toward them.

CLANG!

A soldier raised his shield to block the strike, but it wasn’t possible.

The Sword-Club smashed through it and sent him flying across the courtyard.

Another soldier attempted to attack from behind, but the fourth weapon suddenly reversed direction.

WHOOSH!

The soldier barely had enough time to raise his sword before the enormous club struck him in the chest and sent him crashing through a wooden railing.

Edgar continued walking forward without slowing down.

The four Invisible Sage Hands moved around him with uncanny clarity, each weapon following a different trajectory while never interfering with the others.

’They’re much easier to control now.’

The practice he did beforehand with them had already begun paying off.

Edgar didn’t need to think about every movement anymore, as his hands moved almost naturally according to his thoughts.

Another group of soldiers rushed toward him from the left, and Edgar turned his Sage Hands.

The first Sword-Club swept horizontally across the courtyard, forcing the entire group to jump backward.

Before they could recover, the second weapon came down from above.

BOOM!

Stone cracked beneath the impact while several soldiers were thrown aside.

The remaining men immediately retreated.

"He’s not human!"

"Fall back!"

"Get the archers!"

Edgar’s eyes immediately shifted toward the balconies surrounding the courtyard.

Several archers had already drawn their bows.

The moment the first arrow was released, Edgar activated his skill.

⟨Heavenly Spirit Body⟩.

Golden light immediately wrapped around his body as the translucent skeletal armor appeared over his skin.

WHOOSH!

The arrow struck directly against his chest.

CLANG!

The projectile shattered harmlessly against the golden armor.

Another arrow struck his shoulder, and another hit his abdomen.

None of them managed to penetrate the translucent skeleton surrounding his body.

Edgar calmly looked toward the archers.

"...My turn."

He raised his hand.

Golden energy immediately gathered inside his palm.

The surrounding air became noticeably hotter as a brilliant sphere of light condensed above his hand.

"Sun Blast."

BOOOOM!

A golden beam tore across the courtyard.

The first balcony disappeared beneath the explosion as several archers were thrown away from the burning wooden platform.

Edgar immediately shifted his hand toward the second balcony.

BOOM!

Another blast struck the stone railing, forcing the remaining archers to abandon their positions.

The courtyard fell silent for a brief moment before the soldiers charged again.

Edgar sighed quietly. "...Why do you keep doing this?"

The third Sword-Club moved.

WHOOSH!

The weapon struck the ground in front of the soldiers, sending a wave of broken stone and dust through their formation.

Edgar immediately followed with the first weapon.

The massive club swept through the opening, knocking away anyone who remained standing.

Hera stayed directly behind him throughout the entire battle.

Edgar never allowed the fighting to come anywhere near her.

A group of soldiers eventually noticed her position and exchanged glances.

"There!"

One of them shouted.

"Take the girl hostage!"

Several soldiers immediately broke away from the main battle and rushed toward Hera.

Edgar’s expression remained unchanged, though the calmness in his eyes disappeared for the first time.

"Don’t be stupid."

His voice was quiet, but the threat behind it was unmistakable.

The soldiers ignored him as one man reached toward Hera with an outstretched hand.

Before his fingers could even come close, the fourth Sword-Club appeared between them.

WHOOSH!

The weapon struck the soldier directly, turning him into a mash of blood and bones.

BOOM!

The shockwave threw everyone behind him backward.

Edgar stepped between Hera and the fallen men. "I told you not to come near her."

The first Sword-Club immediately moved.

CLANG!

One soldier’s weapon broke beneath the impact before his body was cut in half.

Within seconds, the entire group was lying motionless across the courtyard.

Hera stared at Edgar’s back for a moment.

"...Edgar."

He didn’t turn around. "Stay behind me."

Edgar turned toward the remaining soldiers.

Their confidence had completely disappeared.

Some were already backing toward the inner hall while others desperately looked for a way out of the courtyard.

Edgar slowly advanced.

Every step he took seemed to push them farther into despair.

"He’s coming!"

"Run!"

"Someone stop him!"

The soldiers tried to retreat through the next gate.

The four Sword-Clubs followed Edgar like enormous blades over them, trapping the soldiers inside.

Edgar walked through the dust and smoke while the translucent golden skeleton remained wrapped around his body.

His hair and face were beginning to darken from the blood covering them, yet his expression remained completely calm.

The sight was enough to break the remaining soldiers’ morale.

Several dropped their weapons.

"We surrender!"

"We’re not fighting anymore!"

Edgar stopped as he looked at the soldiers who had thrown down their weapons.

"...Then get out of my way."

They immediately moved against the walls, and Edgar walked past them without attacking.

Hera followed quietly behind him as they both entered another corridor.

The interior of the Fortress was much quieter than the courtyard.

The sounds of battle continued behind them, but the further they walked, the less resistance they encountered.

Edgar passed several servants running through the halls.

Maids screamed when they saw the blood covering his face.

A butler dropped the tray he was carrying before quickly stepping against the wall.

Edgar glanced at them. "Stay where you are."

None of them needed to be told twice, and the servants immediately moved aside.

Edgar continued forward without harming them.

’They’re not soldiers.’

He had no reason to kill people who weren’t fighting him.

A group of armed guards eventually appeared at the end of the corridor.

Their expressions became terrified when they saw Edgar.

One of them raised his sword, which made Edgar’s eyes narrow.

The four Sword-Clubs moved simultaneously.

BOOM!

The corridor shook violently, and the guards were swept aside before they could even approach.

Hera covered her ears as the sound echoed through the stone hallway.

Edgar continued walking, and the deeper they went, the more resistance they encountered.

Every group was dealt with almost immediately.

Some tried to surround him, while others attacked from the balconies.

Several even attempted to collapse the ceiling above him, but none of it worked.

The Heavenly Spirit Body protected Edgar from the projectiles while the four Sword-Clubs tore through every formation.

Whenever the enemy gathered too closely, Edgar used Sun Blast.

Whenever they spread out, the Sword-Clubs hunted them down individually.

The battle had become less like a fight and more like a slow march toward the center of the Fortress.

Eventually, Edgar reached a massive pair of wooden doors.

Several guards stood in front of them, but unlike the others, these men didn’t retreat.

They looked terrified, but they still raised their weapons.

Edgar stopped several metres away. "...Move."

The guards exchanged glances.

Then one of them whispered.

"We can’t."

Edgar sighed.

"I gave you a chance."

The four Sword-Clubs rose behind him.

The guards tightened their grips.

Then the weapons moved.

BOOM!

The massive doors exploded inward.

Wood and metal flew through the air as Edgar walked through the smoke.

Hera followed directly behind him.

The enormous main hall appeared before them.

Several elderly men and women stood gathered around a long stone table.

Their faces were pale.

Northern Sect banners hung from the walls behind them.

At the center stood the highest-ranking leader of the Sect.

He was the current ruler of Soragon Bazaar and the Sect Master of the Northern Sect.

Darian Voss.

He had watched everything through the windows, and now they were watching Edgar walk into their final sanctuary in no time.

The blonde boy slowly stepped into the hall.

Blood covered his clothes, his hands, and parts of the golden Spirit Body surrounding him.

Four enormous Sword-Clubs floated silently behind his back.

Edgar looked across the room at the elders, and for several seconds, nobody spoke.

Finally, one of the elders took a trembling step backward.

"...Edgar Atreus."

Edgar’s gaze settled on him. "That’s right."

The elder’s face became even paler.

"You... you slaughtered your way through the entire Fortress just to reach us?"

Edgar looked around the hall.

"No." His expression remained completely still. "I came here because I wanted to talk."

One of the elders stared at the blood covering his clothes.

"...Talk?"

Edgar nodded. "Yes."

The four Sword-Clubs slowly lowered behind him. "About who controls Soragon Bazaar from today onward."

The hall became completely silent.

Outside, another explosion shook the Fortress.

"It will be Northern Sect."

Finally, Darian Voss decided to take action as he picked up his weapon.
