Darian Voss slowly stood from his throne while his hand moved toward the weapon resting beside the throne.

The elderly man looked nothing like the frightened elders surrounding him.

His expression remained calm despite the blood covering Edgar’s face.

The man had enough strength to stand up against anything that threatened his sovereignty.

"It will be the Northern Sect."

His voice was low, but the authority behind it made the entire hall fall silent.

Edgar first looked at Hera and gestured her to hide which she immediately obliged.

Edgar then raised an eyebrow at Darian. "You’re still confident?"

Darian didn’t answer his question as he felt it was beneath him.

Instead, his body suddenly disappeared from the throne.

WHOOSH!

Edgar’s pupils contracted as Darian appeared directly in front of him, his sword already swinging toward Edgar’s neck.

CLANG!

Edgar barely raised his arm in time.

The sword struck against the golden Heavenly Spirit Body surrounding his body, producing a violent metallic sound that echoed throughout the hall.

Darian’s expression changed slightly when his sneak attack didn’t work.

Edgar immediately grabbed his wrist and tried to throw him aside.

Darian twisted his body and escaped the grip by driving his knee toward Edgar’s stomach and pulling himself back.

BOOM!

Edgar was forced backward several steps before he rolled his shoulder and pulled up his four Sage Hands.

’Fast.’

Before Edgar could fully recover, Darian was already moving again.

The Sect Master’s sword flashed toward his chest.

Edgar tilted his body aside, allowing the blade to pass close enough to tear through his clothes.

He immediately countered with a punch.

Darian ducked beneath it before sweeping his leg toward Edgar’s feet.

Edgar jumped over the attack and grabbed one of the massive chairs beside the table with an Invisible Sage Hand.

WHOOSH!

The heavy chair flew toward Darian like a projectile while Edgar picked up the Sword-Club again.

Darian sliced through the chair without a problem.

CRACK!

Wood exploded into countless pieces.

Edgar used the momentary distraction to rush forward and deliver a strong arc of the club toward his face.

Darian raised his forearm.

BOOM!

The impact sent both men sliding backward.

Darian’s shoes scraped against the polished floor while Edgar remained firmly planted.

The Sect Master narrowed his eyes.

"You’ve become stronger."

Edgar didn’t answer as he simply grabbed the enormous table with one of his Invisible Sage Hands and lifted it from the ground.

Darian’s expression changed. "You can’t be serious."

Edgar swung the entire table sideways.

WHOOSH!

Darian immediately jumped over it.

The table crashed against the wall and shattered into pieces.

Edgar didn’t wait as he kept on throwing whatever he got his hands on.

Darian moved through the flying furniture with surprising agility, twisting his body between the projectiles while continuously closing the distance.

While he kept on dodging the attacks, Edgar used his Sword-Club to try to smack him down.

Darian was much more cautious of the Sword-Club as he made sure to keep Edgar in a congested place so he couldn’t swing it.

Darian finally reached Edgar and swung his blade downward.

CLANG!

Edgar blocked the attack with his forearm as the two remained locked together for a brief moment.

Darian suddenly pushed forward with tremendous strength.

Edgar was forced backward until his back struck the throne.

CRACK!

The stone behind him fractured from the impact, and Darian immediately raised his sword.

Edgar’s eyes narrowed as his Invisible Sage Hand suddenly grabbed the throne.

WHOOSH!

The enormous seat was ripped from the ground and swung directly toward Darian.

BOOM!

Darian was forced to retreat as the throne crashed between them.

Edgar stepped away from the broken stone. His expression had become slightly more serious.

’He’s stronger than I expected.’

Darian’s speed was exceptional, and unlike the ordinary soldiers outside, he actually knew how to fight.

The Sect Master suddenly rushed forward again, and this time, Edgar met him head-on.

CLANG!

Their fists and weapons collided repeatedly as the two moved across the hall in a blur.

Darian’s sword struck from the left, and Edgar quickly blocked it with his Sword-Club.

A kick came toward his ribs, and Edgar twisted aside while he retaliated with a punch.

Darian ducked beneath it and struck Edgar’s chest.

BOOM!

Edgar crashed through one of the heavy curtains behind him.

The fabric wrapped around his body for a moment before he tore through it.

Darian immediately followed. Edgar grabbed the curtain with one of his Invisible Sage Hands.

WHOOSH!

The massive fabric suddenly wrapped around Darian’s sword arm.

The Sect Master pulled backward, but Edgar used the opening to kick him directly in the chest.

BOOM!

Darian was thrown across the hall as he crashed into a pillar before immediately recovering.

Edgar raised his palm, the golden light rapidly gathering inside it.

The surrounding air became scorching hot.

Darian’s expression changed. "What?"

"Sun Blast."

BOOOOM!

A brilliant golden beam erupted across the hall.

Darian immediately moved as he twisted his body sideways, and the beam passed directly beside him.

The enormous blast struck the wall behind him instead.

BOOM!

Stone exploded outward as a massive hole appeared in the wall while Darian landed several metres away.

Edgar frowned slightly. ’He’s fast enough to dodge it.’

Darian didn’t give him time to think. He rushed forward again.

CLANG!

The sword struck Edgar’s shoulder.

The Heavenly Spirit Body absorbed the impact, but Edgar was still pushed backward.

Darian followed with another strike.

Edgar blocked each one, but the Sect Master’s movements were becoming increasingly difficult to predict.

The two continued fighting across the hall.

They smashed through chairs, shattered tables and broke stone pillars as they moved.

Edgar tried to use the environment to his advantage, but Darian’s combat experience allowed him to adapt quickly.

A sword flashed toward Edgar’s face as he leaned backward.

The blade passed inches above his nose.

Darian immediately changed direction and struck toward his ribs.

Edgar blocked with his arm.

BOOM!

The force sent him crashing into the side of the throne while Darian rushed forward to finish the fight.

Edgar’s eyes became cold. ’This is taking too long.’

He suddenly raised his hand.

A faint pulse spread through the Soul Network.

Darian’s sword was already descending when a loud crash erupted from above.

BOOM!

The massive upper window shattered.

Two figures wearing full-body black armor jumped through the opening.

They landed directly between Darian and Edgar.

Darian’s eyes widened. "What?!"

The first armored figure immediately attacked.

Darian blocked the strike but was forced backward.

The second figure appeared from his opposite side.

Darian barely managed to avoid the attack before retreating several metres.

Edgar stepped forward. "...Now we’re getting somewhere."

The two black-armored figures continued attacking Darian from both sides.

Their movements were precise and coordinated.

Darian tried to counterattack, but the two warriors constantly changed positions and prevented him from finding an opening.

Edgar didn’t waste the opportunity as he rushed forward.

The four Sword-Clubs immediately rose behind him.

Darian’s eyes widened when he noticed the enormous weapons moving through the hall.

"No!"

The first Sword-Club swung toward him.

WHOOSH!

Darian jumped backward when the second came from the opposite direction.

He twisted aside as Darian stumbled under the bombardment.

That single moment was enough as Edgar appeared directly in front of him.

His Invisible Sage Hands pulled the nearest Sword-Club forward.

WHOOSH!

Darian raised his sword.

CLANG!

The impact shattered his weapon. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Edgar immediately grabbed his right arm with a force that was hard to believe.

CRACK!

The Sword-Club swept through, and Darian’s right hand fell to the floor.

"AAAGH!"

His scream echoed through the hall.

He desperately tried to retreat, but one of the black-armored warriors struck his shoulder and forced him back toward Edgar.

The blonde boy didn’t hesitate as the second Sword-Club moved.

WHOOSH!

Darian’s remaining hand was severed at the wrist.

Blood sprayed across the floor.

The Sect Master stumbled backward, staring at his empty arms with disbelief.

"You..."

Edgar slowly approached him. "You should have surrendered when I gave you the chance."

Darian’s expression became filled with fear.

"Wait..."

Edgar raised his hand.

The four Sword-Clubs stopped moving.

For a brief moment, the entire hall became silent.

Then Edgar drew one of the weapons toward himself.

WHOOSH!

The massive blade passed through Darian’s neck.

His body remained standing for half a second.

Then his head fell from his shoulders.

THUD!

It rolled across the polished floor before finally stopping near the feet of one of the elders.

Silence filled the hall. All the elders present there looked on in disbelief.

Darian Voss was dead. The ruler of Soragon Bazaar had fallen.

Edgar slowly lowered the Sword-Clubs as the Heavenly Spirit Body faded from his body.

He looked toward the remaining elders, and nobody dared to meet his eyes.

One elder slowly dropped to his knees, followed by the others.

Soon, every elder inside the hall had fallen to their knees.

"We surrender."

Their voices trembled as they lowered their heads.

"We surrender to you, Lord Edgar."

Edgar quietly looked across the kneeling elders.

The battle outside was still raging, but inside this hall, the Northern Sect had already lost its head.

Soragon Bazaar now belonged to him.
