Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress
Chapter 651: War & Alpha’s ShockFor a brief moment, two different civilizations seemed to have collided.
The cultivator troops inside the secret realm faced the beings of the present Era for the first time, while the powerhouses of the Cosmic Universe came face to face with those ancient beings.
Time froze for a split second.
Then, the reaction of everyone was equally as violent.
No one hesitated.
Whether it was the War God, the Heaven Emperor, or the Cosmos Emperor, they immediately charged into the Heavenly Armor Pavilion head-on.
Flashing all over the dark void, they collected the members of their respective races and hurriedly moved deeper.
Within seconds, they appeared before the spatial passage leading up to the second floor.
Then, they climbed up before ascending through the tear in space that the earlier beams of light had created.
Only after they reached the final level did they let the Emperors of their race go. Their gazes swept around their surroundings.
As they stared at the giant fortress, the eyes of the leading Emperors grew particularly ruthless.
"Shatter the formations!"
"Destroy the city!"
"Work with the Zerg and the demons to kill everyone!"
A unified command came out of their mouths, urging the three races to work together.
The three leaders had not communicated during this time. However, they had made the same exact decision.
Facing the ancient cultivators and what appeared to be their base, they chose to cooperate to wipe them out before it was too late.
This was how things had always been done.
When faced with external enemies or beings of ancient Eras, the Apex Civilizations would always cooperate to stop them!
The ancient cultivators had yet to wake up from the aftermath of the earlier shockwave. Now, they had to defend against the blows of dozens of Emperors belonging to three different races.
Even so, given their identities as troops and since this was their base, they didn’t find it difficult to regroup.
Following the first few casualties, the cultivators formed uniform armies and rushed forward to meet the "invaders".
To this, the War God remained calm.
Although the enemy Emperors were numerous, they were only at the weakest level among this Rank.
The stronger beings had yet to be revived.
As for those at the World Level and Venerable level? He didn’t spare them a single glance.
With a single swing of his halberd, the War God claimed the lives of dozens of Emperors and hundreds of Venerables.
The same happened when the Cosmos Emperor and the Heaven Emperor attacked.
Yet just as it seemed that they would be able to reap the lives of their enemies without any obstruction, the three beings were forced to stop.
Figures emerged from the spatial passage behind them.
Likewise, streams of light shot out of the golden palace and fired toward them, coalescing into ancient cultivators and a group of Mechanical beings.
"I didn’t expect that you would be able to reach this place so quickly.", the man in the lead, Anderleck, stared at the battling powerhouses and sighed.
"It seems that we underestimated you."
"Although your means are not as exquisite as those of our Era, you still have ways to wield Rank 11-level power without reaching that level."
Anderleck remained expressionless. His gaze subconsciously moved toward the mechanical creation in the War God’s hand.
Although he had not come into contact with the mechanical creations of the present Era, he could sense its power.
This was a special Rank 11 weapon that required no powerful wielder to unleash its full strength.
Even an ordinary person could kill an Emperor with it, much less a true Emperor like the War God.
Even so, Anderleck was not panicked.
"I can see why you were reluctant to use this object. Unfortunately, that caution does not matter."
As he spoke, the gun in the War God’s hand began to crumble.
Before long, it shattered into countless metal fragments.
Clearly, although it was not a single-use item, unleashing such power had certain drawbacks. Once the power within the weapon was exhausted, it would be destroyed forever.
It was impossible to verify whether this was the only one of its type on War God’s body. However, Anderleck remained calm.
This was the base after all. With a large number of cultivators being revived, it was only a matter of time before they emerged victorious.
After a few moments of thought, he made a decision.
Ordering his subordinates and the Mechanical beings to charge forward, he unleashed another round of attacks, hoping to keep everyone busy.
His opponents did not shrink back.
Whether it was the Zerg, the Humans, or the Demons, they all fought back with their full strength.
Within the span of a few moments, the battle that had barely quieted down broke out once more.
What was different this time, however, was that the battlefield had moved from the ancient city to the cultivators’ fortress.
More importantly, the numbers on both sides had increased even further.
Now, it was no different from the major extraterrestrial battlefields of the Cosmic Universe, where the true powerhouses of the Apex Civilizations gathered.
--
The war was raging in the fortress, with hundreds of Emperors engaged in a fierce battle.
Yet although the golden palace stood at the center of this secret realm and should have withstood most of the impact, the opposite was true.
It wasn’t affected at all. In fact, it was the only place that remained intact.
Even so, some people were worried.
Standing at the boundary between the formation core’s space layer and the golden palace’s hall, Alpha fidgeted anxiously.
She stared at Liora, whose momentum was constantly growing stronger as she absorbed the energy, and then outside the palace, where the war was still ongoing.
Despite the lack of reaction from the palace, she knew very well what was taking place through the Mechanical beings’ connection with her.
She wanted to remind Liora before it was too late.
Unfortunately, doing that had proved impossible.
Liora seemed immersed within the Cosmic Sea. No matter how much Alpha had tried to communicate, there had been no reaction.
"I hope that nothing goes wrong...", she couldn’t help but mutter.
But the moment these words fell, her expression changed.
Turning her gaze away from Liora, she stared toward the hall. More precisely, toward the stone statues.
As her gaze landed there, a trace of horror flashed across her eyes.
