Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress
Chapter 673: Dragon. Time. Time Dragon FormThe events of the dragons and Veythalis as a whole were both important and unimportant.
Important because they would directly decide the future development of the world.
Unimportant because they were hardly what Liora was focused on at the moment.
The instant her consciousness phantom left Veythalis and shed its dragon form, she felt a torrent of insights flood her mind.
Insights about dragons, the world, creation, and destruction.
The status of the Progenitor Dragon seemed to have been bestowed upon her.
At once, the Dragon Law Star was upgraded to the next level, quickly catching up with the Human Emperor Star.
However, that was far from the end.
As Liora digested the insights and opened her eyes, her gaze settled on the world named after her—Veythalis.
With her vision and knowledge, she was able to see right through it, peering at its true nature.
The original dragon world had fully fused with the Kingdom of God. The two had become one and the same.
Whether it was the creatures that had just been born or the dragons themselves, they had turned into faith-based creatures, resembling the humans she had previously met.
The dragons had already begun providing her with faith, as had some of the other creatures that had glimpsed her.
With every passing second and every wisp of faith, the world would slowly expand, strengthening not only the Dragon Star, but also the Cosmic Sea as a whole.
Veythalis was showing signs of transforming into a true higher-level world.
Although far from the Cosmic Universe and even more so from the Demon World, it showed the potential to accumulate Ancient Devil-level beings in the near future.
Liora already had some plans regarding its development, and splitting it into two was laying the groundwork for them.
However, these were matters for later.
For the time being, she had more important matters to deal with.
She examined her current state.
Although the creation of the Kingdom of God and its subsequent fusion had provided her with several benefits, it was far from the opportunity she had been looking for to advance into an Ancient Devil.
She sighed.
This was perhaps the most difficult advancement Liora had faced in her entire life.
She had never faced any "bottleneck" before. She advanced through the stages at an astonishing speed.
Now, this had changed.
Fortunately, she had already expected this situation.
The creation of the Kingdom of God was merely the fuse to put her original plan into action. She had never truly placed her hopes on it.
"It seems I will still have to rely on that...", Liora thought, raising her head to look at the River of Time above her head.
The next moment, her mind stirred.
Her body began to change.
Her body began to change. Colorful scales spread across her skin as her body rapidly expanded, shedding the appearance of a humanoid being.
Only a split second later, her original body was nowhere to be seen.
In its place now stood an enormous ancient dragon—the Progenitor Dragon that had caused everything.
This form of Liora, which she had developed while in the Blood Forest Realm, was upgraded once more following the Dragon Star’s transformation.
She had become stronger.
More importantly, Liora felt she could finally try something else, something she had been planning for quite some time.
She didn’t take her eyes off the River of Time.
Her gaze remained fixed on it, its illusory, flowing waters reflected in her colorful pupils.
But at the same time, her consciousness connected with another Law Star within the Cosmic Sea.
It was as illusory as the river, looking like a nebula.
Time Law Star—born from the Time Manipulation talent.
Due to her control over time and the birth of the River of Time, this Law had also reached great heights.
It stood on the same level as the Human Emperor Star.
Now, on the same level as the Dragon Star.
This was exactly what Liora had been waiting for.
Without any hesitation, she called upon these two distinct stars, activating them simultaneously.
Not to summon their power, but instead to fuse them together.
That’s right!
Long ago, Liora had discovered that she could try to fuse different Laws together using the Godhead-like objects.
And among them, the Dragon Law and the Time Law were particularly compatible, as though made for each other.
Unfortunately, due to her limited strength and knowledge, she had been unable to achieve this so far.
It was only now, when these two Laws stood on the same level, and one was supported by the Kingdom of God, that she finally had a chance to do so.
An overwhelming momentum erupted from both Law Stars, blessing Liora in unison.
Had she been in her original form, she would have been unable to withstand the impact and would have had to disperse these distinct powers.
Now in her dragon form, however, she watched silently as the two powers fused on their own without her needing to do anything.
A portion of her beautiful scales became illusory. A small river appeared around her.
Surrounded by the power of time, Liora’s dragon form looked increasingly transcendent and indestructible.
Feeling this, Liora knew that time had finally come.
She didn’t hesitate. The wings on her back flapped, and she soared into the sky.
One moment, she was standing amidst the cosmic dust.
The next, she had appeared on the banks of the River of Time.
Illusory scenes flashed through her eyes, of the present, the past, and the future.
Surprisingly, the future scenes seemed blurry. It was as though someone had taken the initiative to conceal the future, making peering through it impossible.
Liora did not pay attention. Her gem-like eyes reflected the transcendent river for one more moment before she launched herself forward.
In the blink of an eye, her massive body had appeared above the river.
Then, she dove into it.
For the first time since the River of Time’s creation, Liora had taken the initiative to enter it!
The results were as expected.
Although her dragon form was truly massive, enough to cover entire worlds, the seemingly small river was able to swallow her with ease.
Its waters crashed onto her scales from every direction, making their illusory nature even more apparent.
At the same time, the waters of time dove deeper into her very being.
The two Laws currently occupying her body were forcefully engraved on her dragon form bit by bit.
Complicated patterns were woven onto her scales.
The strange state of two Laws being fused and empowering one another seemed to slowly be turning permanent.
Subconsciously, a low, dragon-like roar couldn’t help but escape Liora’s lips.
The flowing waters of the river halted for a split second.
Although they quickly returned to normal, this scene alone had already betrayed a lot.
Slowly but surely, Liora’s dragon form was gaining a deeper authority over time.
An authority high enough to impact the Cosmic Sea’s River of Time, and perhaps the real River of Time as well.
