Then Victor waved his hand and brought out the key he had gotten and frowned when he saw that the key was vibrating in his palms.

"What’s going on?" Victor mumbled in a low voice, and suddenly he remembered something and thought, ’Wait, don’t items sometimes react when they are close to their places of origin?’

In his previous life, he had heard that from some people and met a few who had gotten rare treasures or items by using this method. There was once an Awakener who had gotten a random locket and kept it with him for years, and suddenly it started reacting all of a sudden, and he followed the reaction, which led him to find an extremely hidden dungeon where it was filled with treasures.

Victor then put the key back inside his inventory and saw Lance finishing up the presentation.

"Now, if you have all understood, go and fetch anything you would like to bring with you, and we will go to the dungeon site in 39 minutes," Lance said as everyone dispersed.

Victor, Amber, and Rina were sitting in the cafeteria, and in front of them was Lilith, who was looking at the laptop.

"What! How many?" Victor almost spat out the smoothie in his mouth as he exclaimed.

Even Amber was a bit shocked by the number. Only Rina looked calm and said, "Why are you reacting like that? You have an army larger than that number."

Victor turned towards his wife and said, "That’s an army, but Guild applications are different; this many still need to be managed."

"Sir Victor, what should Miss Lilith do?" Lilith blinked her eyes cutely at Victor, who replied, "Send them to Edward after filtering out the applications. He is now responsible for the interviews."

"All right. Miss Lilith will remove the frauds and send them to Edward," Lilith said, which caught Victor’s attention as he asked, "What do you mean by fraud?"

"Miss Lilith has discovered many fake applications, and some of them are from criminal organizations and rival guilds," Lilith said, which caused Victor to click his tongue.

"Heh, Edward was already stressed out with applications, but now he is going to be depressed..." Amber said with a chuckle.

"No worries, he loves to work," Victor said calmly.

30 Minutes Later

Everyone had gathered in the auditorium to rendezvous and then headed towards the dungeon site, and everyone from the Elite Class arrived one after another, waiting for Lance to show up.

Amber and Rina, followed by Victor with Lilith on his shoulders, walked inside and stood at the side, and no one dared to approach them, like no ordinary civilian dares to approach a country’s president or celebrity casually, and the group liked to keep it that way.

"You are here," Ruby said as she and Valerie walked towards them. They had, one could say, become familiar with each other, and were pleasantly surprised themselves that they had become acquainted with someone outside the top families.

"Is that your pet cat?" Valerie looked at Lilith on Victor’s shoulder and was about to reach out to pet her when Lilith looked at her with displeasure and smacked her little paw against her approaching palm.

"Ouch," Valerie hissed in pain and then froze and looked at Lilith in shock, as a normal cat had managed to make her feel pain. After she had become an Awakener, not even bullets could make her feel anything.

"Don’t touch Miss Lilith, and Miss Lilith is not a pet, but Sir Victor’s assistant," Lilith spoke with displeasure and a bit of pride in her little voice.

Ruby and Valerie’s eyes bulged out in shock when they heard Lilith speak human language. They had encountered a few magical beasts that could talk, but this was the first time they had seen a cat, an animal that could even be found on the streets in many countries, talk in human language.

"That—That cat spoke," Ruby said with a stammer as her eyes moved from Victor, Rina, and Amber’s amused faces back to Lilith’s glaring face.

She swallowed hard and, on instinct, asked, "Can I buy this cat from you?"

"Damn, bad woman. Miss Lilith is not for sale; you can’t buy Miss Lilith," Lilith hissed at her, ready to strike.

"Calm down, she did not mean it." Victor had an amused look as he said it, and Ruby, who had realized what she said, apologized, which was rare for her. "I apologize, I spoke on instinct."

"How can a cat talk human language? No...wait, is this even a cat?" Valerie asked.

Victor looked at her and thought, ’Sharp girl.’

"No, Lilith is not a cat, she is a special magical beast." Victor said and immediately put a hand over her mouth when he saw that Lilith was about to reveal his words.

"Oh, I see, makes sense." Valerie nodded her head.

"Everyone, follow me." Lance appeared with a few more teachers and said to them.

After walking for some time, they arrived in front of a purple, spiraling dungeon gate.

"This is the entrance to the dungeon, and this dungeon has been mapped out by a few Awakeners who went in, but more than half died..." Lance said, and then they were handed two devices by the staff.

"The tablet contains the map of the place, while the other device is something you need to strap onto your arm, and this will record the number of monsters you kill and also acts as a locator inside with a distress call button." Lance explained as Victor looked at the device on his hand.

’I and Lilith can easily hack into this.’ Victor thought. He wanted to kill monsters but did not want it to record everything, and if he destroyed it, it might cause suspicion.

"All right, everyone, go in one group at a time, and note that you will be teleported randomly into areas with the weakest and least amount of beasts first. Good luck," Lance said as he walked in first to give them a sense of reassurance, and sure enough, Victor saw many tense faces ease up a bit.

One by one, groups of people started to enter the portal.

"We are going," Ruby said as she went to her team, and Valerie stopped and did not go and said in a low voice, "Can I join you?"

"You want to join us? Don’t you have your own team?" Amber asked suspiciously.

"I don’t, actually," Valerie explained calmly, but inwardly she was cursing her mother, who had created this awkward situation and plotted for her to spend time with, in her logic, her future in-laws and husband.

"Fine, you can join," Victor said calmly.

Then the group walked towards the portal and vanished.

Victor, Amber, Rina, and Valerie, along with Lilith, teleported directly into a completely desolate desert with no buildings or any structure in sight except for a few trees.

"I hate deserts." Amber frowned, feeling the intense heat. The high temperature was directly opposite to her Ice Bloodline, which made her the most uncomfortable in a desert.

Victor did not say anything and just brought out his key, and his eyes widened as he said, "The key has changed?"

The key, which had just been vibrating slowly, now had a stranger vibration, but the most eye-catching sight was the black mist seeping out of the key.
