Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything

Chapter 109: Cultivating 10,000,000 Evolution Points Per Second!

Kaelen didn’t know how long he was in a daze before his hands slowly reached out for the world option.

He was just about to select Akkad to see for himself if that was truly Earth when he froze, and his avatar glitched and disappeared from the lobby.

"Where’s that stupid guide? Don’t tell me he dipped on us at the last minute—what the..."

The mercenary, moving through the alleys in search of Kaelen, was startled when he turned to see Kaelen leaning against a dark corner like he’d been standing there all along.

The mercenary’s face turned ashen. "What the hell is wrong with you? We’ve been searching for you for the past fifteen minutes, and you’re just standing there like you’ve suddenly gone deaf..."

Kaelen stopped listening at some point and looked up at the bright sky as the sun made its ascent from the east.

"So it’s morning already," he mumbled to himself.

He was smart enough to leave his shadow behind before entering the game, or else he might’ve spent a few hours there only to return and realize it’d been a few days already.

"I wonder if time also flows the same in Akkad." Kaelen fell into deep thought.

"...Are you even listening to me?! Do you think this is some kind of joke?"

He didn’t have the opportunity to verify his theory at the moment, but the fact that all evidence pointed towards Earth and Akkad being the same planet only meant that the ruins of Akkad they were setting off for wouldn’t just be abandoned ruins. They were going to hold life.

The people of Akkad were likely to be hiding there. And given the fact that they were against humanity, the chances of the expedition triggering a racial war were high.

Kaelen was confident in making it out alive if things went south. His priority was finding his mother and making it out safely with her.

But if he got there and discovered that they had touched even a single hair on his mother’s head...

Then Kaelen might as well be held responsible for triggering the war, because he wasn’t going to be leaving there until he’d slaughtered everyone responsible.

"What’s for breakfast?" Kaelen asked the ranting mercenary as he leaned off the wall and began heading out, leaving the man standing there speechlessly.

Kaelen saw the seven trucks already lined up on the street at the peak of the morning, with the mercenaries standing around and keeping an eye out for him.

The moment they saw him, their expressions darkened, and the mercenary who enjoyed causing problems immediately stepped forward with a scowl.

Kaelen didn’t bother engaging with him as he walked past him and climbed into one of the trucks, shutting the door. Then he wound down the window and looked at the men still staring at him speechlessly.

"Why are y’all standing around? We don’t have all day, y’know. Gotta leave on time if we want to minimize the nights we’ll be spending in the wasteland," Kaelen said plainly.

He wasn’t clueless or being unnecessarily arrogant. These mercenaries had lied to him and already planned on disposing of him as soon as they crossed the Grand Canyon. And there was that one guy who was irritated by Kaelen’s existence.

Kaelen’s actions were fully intentional. He was going to make their lives a living hell till they slipped up and revealed their real plans.

But he’d have to take it slow till he got to the ruins of Akkad first.

The man who’d stood in Kaelen’s way, waiting to give him a piece of his mind, looked enraged by Kaelen’s comment and walked up to his truck, swinging the door open.

"There’s no seat reserved for you inside the trucks. Get down."

"What? Where do you expect me to sit then?"

"The damn truck bed," the man said and reached out to grab Kaelen out of the truck, when Kaelen smacked his hand away before he could touch him.

The man flinched and grabbed his hand painfully, glaring at Kaelen in surprise.

He wasn’t expecting a close fracture from Kaelen’s casual smack.

"I don’t have a problem staying at the back, but don’t ever lay your hands on me. I’m the guide, not your slave," Kaelen said as he stepped down and hopped into the truck bed.

The man gritted his teeth and exchanged glances with the Commander before they hopped into the truck and began pulling out of the slums one after the other.

Most residents of the slums were yet to wake up, but a few early birds were already up and moving about.

He caught someone waving from his peripheral vision and turned to see the father-and-daughter duo already up and waving him goodbye. The father had a gloomy expression, like Kaelen’s fate had already been sealed even before they left the slums. But his little girl had a cheerful smile, like she was expecting him to return safely with the mercenaries.

Kaelen put on a smile as he waved back. But he knew within himself that he wouldn’t be returning there, at least not anytime soon. And neither would any of the mercenaries make it back alive.

Even if they survived the wasteland, they wouldn’t survive trying to dispose of Kaelen. And even if they survived that, then they wouldn’t survive venturing into the ruins of Akkad if it was his mother they were after.

Kaelen didn’t plan to sit idle at the back of the truck. He initially planned to enter Evolution Online at every opportunity he got, but due to the alternate time flow in both worlds, entering the game might destroy his chances of using the mercenaries to find his mother.

That was when Kaelen remembered that, aside from the game itself, he now had another method of earning Evolution Points passively.

Eternal Myriad Scripture.

He immediately sat cross-legged and closed his eyes to feel the evolution spores in the air.

He could feel them, and at the same time felt every pore on his skin open to absorb them like a sponge.

They were extremely sparse in the air, but that didn’t discourage Kaelen, as he wanted to see how many Evolution Points he could make with this much.

[+1000 Evolution Points]

[10,000× Reward Multiplier Triggered...]

[+10,000,000 Evolution Points]

[+10,000,000 Evolution Points]

[+10,000,000 Evolution Points]

"10,000,000 Evolution Points per second?!" Kaelen almost jumped to his feet.

Even without the 10,000× Reward Multiplier System, cultivating 1,000 Evolution Points per second, 60,000 Evolution Points per minute, 3,600,000 Evolution Points per hour, and 86,400,000 per day was more than enough to make the average player overpowered in just a few days.

The Eternal Myriad Scripture was exactly what Kaelen needed. Something he could fall back on if the mysterious system were to ever disappear one day.

The only downside Kaelen was yet to rectify was... turning to stone for another three months.
