After the fiery explosion caused by the dragon’s flames that devastated the mountains and their valleys, Black Rose and the rest of the White Vanguard Guild, who were only logging in after the distress message, were met with a complete wasteland.

Black Rose was beyond stunned, as she’d only taken her eyes off the TV for a few minutes to enter the game and spawn on the map where her city should have been left standing, but was met with the devastating ruins where the city once stood.

Her secretary, Cindra, and the rest of the guild members weren’t faring any better, trying to make sense of what had happened in just a few minutes.

This simply told them the dragon they were dealing with might as well be something more terrifying than the Tier 9 beast she had speculated it to be.

At that moment, the sky suddenly split open and released a thunderstorm that tore down upon the mountaintop like heaven’s retribution, sending chills down the spines of the entire elite guild force.

Black Rose was no different, but steeled her resolve. The dragon might be at the peak of Tier 9 or higher, but she herself was at the peak of Tier 7, with no one lower than Tier 3 among her army of elite forces that had been through countless conquests, intense wars, and battles. They might have never fought a dragon before, but there was a first time for everything, and she was going to lead them up the mountain for the greatest conquest Evolution Online had ever witnessed, even if it cost her everything. Because she knew the rewards and recognition for it would not only be a hundredfold everything she’d lost to the expedition, but would also elevate her guild to a height unreachable by any other guild across Evolution Online.

She knew she had only a few hours to challenge the dragon before other guilds got wind of it and began trooping into her territory from their various worlds and maps.

With that mindset and a fire of determination in her eyes, she led her army charging up the mountain for the greatest conquest humanity would ever witness.

KABOOM—!!!

Kaelen felt every molecule in his body reacting to the legendary Heaven’s Retribution lightning, and for the first time, he felt his life threatened, as the lightning did more damage than his body could store.

Then his system struck—

[10,000× Reward Multiplier Triggered...]

[Electrical Currents/Lightning Damage amplified by 10,000×]

Boom—

It was like a dam had broken within his core, expanding his consciousness to a galactic level that sucked in all the lightning and excessive energy like a black hole. The thunderstorm disappeared as soon as it appeared, dispersing the dark clouds overhead.

But before the dragon could breathe, the slime transformed into an abyssal black hole that immediately sucked in 99% of the surrounding light, turning the world pitch black, before a blinding white beam exploded from the slime, slamming into and obliterating the entire mountain range in a devastating explosion that shook the earth to its core.

It was like a nuclear warhead had exploded on that mountain, releasing a cloud of dust that formed a mushroom cloud as it pushed back everything around the mountain range, creating a deep crater in the earth where a mountain once stood.

The White Vanguard Guild, which had been scaling the mountain, was instantly blown away before they could react, instantly killing the weaker ones while the stronger ones were critically injured and carried away by the shockwave.

The conquest had yet to begin, but the force had been obliterated in an instant by an unknown entity battling the dragon up ahead.

Black Rose was quick to grab onto a broken trunk deeply rooted in the earth and caught Cindra’s arm just before the girl could be carried away by the shockwave as well.

She looked back at the spot where her elite guild force once stood, now gone and scattered across the map, and gritted her teeth against the hailstorm, pulling her friend up and helping her to her feet before they kept pushing against the storm to get to the battlefield.

At this point, she wasn’t delusional enough to think she could win the war by herself. All she wanted was to witness for herself who this formidable foe battling the dragon was.

She wasn’t scared that this would make her lose her one chance to slay the dragon before the other guilds got involved because, after witnessing the collateral damage of the battle firsthand, which had wiped out her guild and entire city, she knew no guild in Evolution Online would be capable of taking the dragon on alone.

It would most certainly end in an alliance between humanity’s greatest guilds.

Bam—

The spot where Kaelen was standing after obliterating the dragon and losing sight of it in the hailstorm was suddenly torn open as a massive claw burst through the dust, taking him off guard.

The dragon immediately lifted everything trapped within its claws and, without hesitating, directly threw it into its mouth as it clamped its jaws shut, thinking it had caught the enemy by surprise and ended the battle once and for all.

What it never thought or expected was that it was playing directly into the slime’s script. And it didn’t take long for it to realize, when it felt its throat soften from the intense burning pain, as though it had swallowed poison, followed by a storm of blades that began shredding its throat from the inside out.

[Vortex Blade: Evolves internal rotational currents, allowing the slime to spin its entire mass at high velocities to act like a living, shredding drill.]

At Tier 5, Kaelen’s size had expanded to form a lump in the dragon’s wide throat, which he utilized to turn his entire body into a living drill, clinging on and shredding the dragon’s soft throat from the inside out, with his extremely volatile [Primordial Plague Gland] directly melting into the dragon’s flesh and making the drilling much easier and smoother.

He felt the dragon thrash around from the poisoning and the shredding pain, but he didn’t stop. Even if he did, the dragon was already dead but just didn’t know it yet.

It couldn’t survive its internal organs coming into contact with the primordial plague, which he made sure of by evaporating parts of himself to flow down the dragon’s throat.

And for his final act, he released his white mist into the dragon, filling its entire body with the toxic gas that began seeping out of its nostrils.

The dragon violently thrashed around in agony as it tried to spit out the slime, and when it couldn’t get rid of it, it made a last-ditch effort to scorch it with flames inside its throat.

As soon as its throat glowed crimson dark from the built-up flames—

KABOOM—!!!
