Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 21: The Path to Becoming a Trillionaire Starts with Evolution[(2) Genetic Traits Available for Extraction.]
[Do you wish to extract?]
[You have unlocked a hidden Class (Mythic).]
The first thing that greeted Kaelen’s vision after the intro was a series of notifications he’d ignored from last time.
He had been too excited to get his new life started that he forgot the best rewards from defeating the Mythic Dragon didn’t end with the exciting loot bundle.
But before he started, he took a moment to scout his surroundings and activated the [Sharp Senses] evolution attribute, using his consciousness to sweep the entire forest, only to realize he was no longer on the previous map, but had respawned in an entirely new forest.
Just like the previous map, there was a city beyond the forest—but bigger. It was more like a nation, thriving with a great multitude of men and beasts that excited Kaelen for some reason.
The forest was teeming with life and thriving with all sorts of beasts that saw themselves as predators until they became the prey. The jungle was on another level of strength, with the weakest beast Kaelen could sense being Tier 3.
He was only Tier 5, but could tell there were many just like him, and even stronger.
But most importantly, it wasn’t all this that caught his attention. Because deep in the forest, standing tall in the middle of what looked like a dried lake, was something that made Kaelen’s chest pound.
It was a tower.
A black tower, with its peak hidden in the clouds. Surrounding it were various players teaming up and recruiting parties outside to enter the dungeon.
Kaelen could sense each floor bearing stronger enemies in ascending order, and at the top was something that far surpassed what his [Sharp Senses] could read at Level 400+.
Something far stronger than the Mythic Dragon, but at its peak strength, unlike the unfortunate dragon.
Could it be a Divine-tier beast?!
He wasn’t certain, but if it truly was a Divine-tier beast, it’d be the first of its kind to make an appearance in Evolution Online. And whoever killed it...
Kaelen was beyond thrilled as he counted how many Evolution Points such a beast could generate for him, and of course, how many billions of dollars it would be worth after the exchange.
He returned his focus to the series of notifications and didn’t waste any more time getting straight to business.
"Extract!"
[Spend 1,000,000 Evolution Points to transplant genetic trait: Dragon Wings?]
[Spend 1,000,000 Evolution Points to learn skill: Dragon Flames?]
"Damn... Transplant! Learn!"
[10,000× Reward Multiplier Triggered...]
[Dragon Wings (Mythic) have been upgraded to Reaping Angel Wings (Divine).]
[10,000× Reward Multiplier Triggered...]
[Dragon Flames (Mythic) have been upgraded to Spark of Extinction (Divine).]
Kaelen’s nonexistent eyes widened in surprise, and his jaw melted to the floor as he stared at the notifications in his vision.
"Divine...?"
These were his first evolutionary trait and skill of the Divine tier—the highest rank known and ever reached by anyone in Evolution Online.
He quickly recovered and didn’t hesitate to activate the two traits simultaneously. Instead of the traditional leathery wings he was expecting, Kaelen was instead surrounded by eight rings that rotated around him and gave him the ability to reach any height and distance at an incredible speed that far surpassed the Titan Burst that broke the sound barrier.
Knowing that wasn’t enough for him, Kaelen immediately decided to test it out, but not on land this time.
Boom—
Kaelen was already meters into the sky when reality seemed to realize he’d disrupted its flow, and the ground where he once stood burst into a rain of dirt, while Kaelen watched from the sky above, overlooking the entire map and its cities.
It didn’t feel like he’d moved. Rather, it felt like instant teleportation.
One moment he was on the ground, and the next he was in the sky. But it was much easier to get used to than the Titan Burst.
Kaelen grinned widely. He was just about to descend to test the Spark of Extinction again after not feeling any difference or seeing its effects, when he paused and looked up.
He was aware this was virtual reality and not the actual universe itself. But what if...
Would there be a barrier marking the end of the game world, and had the devs put much thought into trying to imitate a galaxy of some sort?
There was only one way to find out.
Kaelen immediately disappeared from the spot as he shot forward like a cannon toward the firmament.
He closed his eyes as he braced himself for an impact, but after a moment of not feeling any resistance—or rather, feeling the sudden lack of gravity—he slowly opened his eyes to the grand wonder of the galaxy.
There were stars blinking in the distance, foreign planets, and asteroids freely floating through empty space.
Kaelen was stunned in disbelief as he stared at the grand view before him. But there was only so much his eyes could see, so he decided to spread his consciousness across space using his [Sharp Senses].
Even that proved insufficient to view even a fraction of the galaxy, but almost immediately, Kaelen felt a chill run down his spine at what he saw.
Not one, not two, not three, but multiple lifeforms soared through the darkness of space, devouring weaker parasites and entities. But what stunned Kaelen wasn’t this, but the fact that he couldn’t tell even a fraction of their strength.
Unlike the dragon or the final boss of the tower dungeon, whose power he could easily tell was immense, the beasts here were simply on a whole different level that far surpassed what a Tier 5 like him could sense.
He was like an ant in the presence of these beings.
But then, did that mean all the planets he could see in the distance had life on them as well?
Were they all game worlds, or had he broken into the fourth dimension?
Kaelen moved across the firmament several more times to be sure it wasn’t a bug before returning to his spawn point. He didn’t dare venture deeper into space.
But his view of this world and everything he knew had totally changed. A normal person would be questioning their reality as the fear of the unknown began to eat away at their heart.
For Kaelen, it was different.
The slime had only one recurring thought in his mind as he began counting numbers.
One trillion Evolution Points...
One trillion dollars...
"No. It should be more than that."
"Oh shit..."
"I’m going to become a trillionaire. The first trillionaire in history!"
And the path to becoming a trillionaire starts with evolution.
"..."
At the end of the day, the only thing that truly mattered... was strength!
