Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 31: I Can Devour my Loots?!Kaelen, unaware of the stir he was causing across worlds, was in his hotel room that cost $5k per night—an amount he never even dreamed of touching throughout his days in the slums—drooling over his evolution points balance.
When the system blared to life, his vision was invaded by a series of notifications about the accumulated loot from the dungeon tower.

[Quality or Quantity?]
Kaelen felt his vision spin for a moment at the sheer amount of unclaimed loot bundles he’d received, knowing each and every one of them contained no fewer than five items per bundle.
He pinched the bridge of his nose as he felt a slight headache.
Over the past few weeks, Kaelen had accumulated millions of items through loot, and literally had no use for them as a slime, as most were weapons he couldn’t wield and skill books he couldn’t learn. Yet more kept piling up with every kill.
He had initially thought selling them would be his road to a better life, until he realized evolution points were money, and now he was stuck with them because selling them would just be a waste of good resources, even though he couldn’t use them.
Kaelen shut his eyes to mentally prepare himself for the next grueling minute of sorting through the loot, when a distant thought resurfaced in his mind.
It hadn’t crossed his mind, but he now had the Mythic Devourer, which was supposed to be capable of devouring anything and everything for evolution points.
If the Mythic Devourer Class could devour a slab of rock and an entire dungeon... then shouldn’t it be able to devour items as well?
Legendary-tier items...
Mythic-tier skill books...
Divine-tier artifacts.
Shouldn’t Kaelen be able to devour all those?!
"Quality!"
Kaelen said immediately, and the loot bundles burst into a long list of many colors, each color representing the item’s tier.
Kaelen was already familiar with the colors after seeing them one too many times, and his eyes immediately scanned the long list for the two most important tiers he was looking forward to.
Mythic Tier (Crimson Red)
Divine Tier (White and Rainbow Hue)
The majority of the items were all gold, further increasing the countless number of Legendary-tier items he had in his possession. But it didn’t take long before he began to come across the Mythic-tier section in great numbers.
There were so many that Kaelen immediately lost interest in sorting them that day and decided to focus only on finding the Divine-tier items. Sure enough, he found them on their own shelf beneath the Mythic tier, nine in number.
His eyes gleamed excitedly, but as soon as he reached in to pull them out, something else caught his eye. Beyond the Divine tier, the peak of all tiers known in Evolution Online, there was another shelf below it.
That shelf was mostly empty, but not vacant, because it held an item. Just one, surrounded by a black hue that was unlike anything Kaelen had ever seen before.
And strangely enough, it was neither a weapon nor armor, nor was it a skill book, nor an artifact.
A black fruit.
Consumable or edible items like that were usually placed at the top of their tier, and not only was this one a tier Kaelen had never come across before, it was at the peak of it.
There was no way to know what tier it was or what it could actually do without touching it, so Kaelen reached for the fruit, and the moment he touched its warm surface, a strange energy suddenly pulsed through his arm and into his body.
He was startled, but didn’t jerk his hand away. He got a firm grip on the black fruit and pulled it out of his inventory. But the moment that happened, a dark energy suddenly exploded from the fruit, sending ripples of shockwaves across his room, through the entire hotel, and far beyond. But before it could do more, Kaelen shoved it back into his inventory.
At that moment, only one thing rang in Kaelen’s head.
It was something the local bank manager had casually mentioned in passing on their way into the stronghold.
Assassins and bounty hunters.
So far, Kaelen hadn’t come across anything like that, which had made him doubt the credibility of the local bank manager’s words.
But at that moment, a knock suddenly came at the door, startling Kaelen.
"They can’t possibly be here that fast," he mused to himself warily.
He cautiously stood up from his bed and began crouching toward the door to look through the peephole, when a female voice came from the other side.
"Room service."
Kaelen froze on the spot before he clicked his tongue in exasperation. His heartbeat had really increased, and he was looking forward to a confrontation to test his Tier 7 ability.
He walked over to the door and pried it open to see a beautiful lady standing outside with a professional smile.
"Good morning, sir. Hope you slept well. May I come in?"
Kaelen sized up the housekeeper with her load before nodding and stepping aside for her to push her trolley inside. But as she moved past him, the edge of her collar shifted slightly, and black mark flashed across the pale skin of her neck.
It was a tattoo mostly hidden, but because he was much taller than her, he had caught a glimpse of what looked like a scorpion’s tail.
"Nice tattoo."
The moment those words left Kaelen’s lips, the house keeper froze on the spot.
