Kaelen shot out multiple blade-whips that made the elf flinch, but when she looked up, she realized they had gone by her and impaled all her teammates in an instant.

Before she could react, they wrapped themselves around her body and pulled her closer to Kaelen.

"Well then, I have a message for your father. Tell him you crossed paths with Kaelen Cross, the same kid that watched him murder his father ten years ago. Let him know that I’m coming for him and everyone behind the Stronghold 2 massacre, and that I shall destroy everything built on the blood of the innocent lives lost that night."

As Kaelen relayed his message, he tightened his tentacles wrapped around the elf, slowly crushing her until he pulled her inside his stomach.

[You have killed the descendant of your Nemesis]

[10,000× Reward Multiplier Triggered...]

[You have received 200,000 Evolution Points]

Kaelen stared at the system message before swiping and finishing the rest of the team off.

He had been previously unsure of which race to mimic, but after some consideration, Kaelen deliberately took on human form.

With the [Mimic Slime] evolution attribute over Level 6000 after eating the black fruit, Kaelen realized he could customize his form and didn’t hesitate to tweak his features to resemble his real-life looks.

That’s right.

Aside from President Hunter, who knew his name and background and whom Kaelen was certain wouldn’t easily expose his identity, there was someone else Kaelen hadn’t accounted for whom he had come across recently.

That was Stephanie.

Not only did Stephanie know his full name, but she knew his background and history as well as he’d recounted it to her when he was blinded by love.

Kaelen was certain President Hunter wouldn’t expose him so easily after understanding the man’s personality, but he didn’t trust Stephanie one bit.

If she could betray him over his awakening, what was stopping her from giving him away over the one million Evolution Points the Emperor was offering for any information regarding him?

He had recently remembered why a certain elf who was amongst the new recruits of the White Vanguard Guild he’d encountered outside the dungeon tower looked familiar.

There was no doubt that it was Stephanie. If he could trick her into thinking he was just a human player in the game, then she’d probably eliminate the connection between him and the infamous Kaelen Cross, keeping his identity airtight once more.

He made a few final tweaks to make his disguise perfect by being a carbon copy of himself in real life before he took out a piece of Epic-tier light armor from his inventory to put on, then began heading to the big city beyond the forest.

In every advanced city, there were always guild recruitment centers, and Kaelen was certain that a top guild like White Vanguard would have one of those too.

On arriving at the city gate, there was a queue just like in the previous city he’d been to. But unlike that one, the line moved much faster, even with carts and beast-drawn wagons that made Kaelen wonder if the beasts pulling the wagons were NPCs or players who were scared of entering the jungle and chose to settle for such menial jobs.

He also noticed the guards were more professional and weren’t taxing coins. Rather, they checked a wooden plate everyone seemed to carry on them before letting them in.

Kaelen moved closer to one player to ask, "What are they checking?"

He also asked to check if his disguise was working.

"Oh, that’s an identity token used for identifying citizens," the beast girl replied enthusiastically.

Kaelen nodded once in understanding.

"If you don’t have one, you’ll have to give five silver coins every time you enter the city, or you can pay five gold coins to get an identity token," she quickly added.

Yep, that’s no different from the previous city. Just rebranded.

"My name’s Stacy, by the way," the beast girl said, making Kaelen take a good look at her for the first time.

"What’s your name?" she asked.

But before Kaelen could reply, the guard called out, "Next."

It was his turn in line, so he moved forward.

"Token?" the guard asked plainly.

"I don’t have that."

"That’ll be five silver."

The last time, Kaelen didn’t have money and only had Evolution Points to offer. This time was no different, but Kaelen pretended to be searching through his inventory when he froze.

Kaelen had so many items in his inventory that he never bothered checking them. He hadn’t also checked a lot of the loot he got off weaker beasts and simply amplified its quality and left it in his inventory.

It was only now, while pretending to search for coins, that he discovered... one million gold coins.

He was certain they mostly either came from the previous city he destroyed or from the guild leaders he eliminated at the dungeon tower.

"Step out of the line if you don’t have any money," the guard suddenly bellowed and was about to shove him to the side when five silver coins were tossed through the air and landed in the guard’s palm.

"Huh?" Kaelen turned around to look at Stacy, but quickly realized she wasn’t the one, as she was looking in another direction. So he followed her gaze to a luxurious wagon beside them, and peeking out of the open window with a goofy smile was someone Kaelen immediately recognized.

"I told you that was Idris. I could recognize that posture from a mile away," Cindra said to a second person in the wagon who wasn’t as loud as her.

She didn’t know it, but this was the second time she had paid his gate fee.

’I guess letting her make a sandwich in my house is not so bad.’

"Who are you talking to?" Kaelen asked.

"Black Rose is here. Where are you going? Climb on, we’ll drop you off," Cindra said as she pushed the door open.

But before Kaelen could even make a move, the line suddenly became noisy as people began muttering to themselves.

"I told you that was the same guy. This only confirms it."

"Are you saying that’s Black Rose’s boyfriend?"

"Of course. Why else would she be offering him a ride?"

"Lucky bastard!"
