After dropping two hundred thousand dollars on the front desk for a month’s stay at the nearest hotel he could find, Kaelen locked the door behind him and went into the bathroom for a hot shower.

He stayed there longer than usual as the water slid off his skin, before he stared at himself in a mirror, his expression unreadable.

As soon as he stepped out, he didn’t bother dressing properly before taking out a World Authority Fragment and activating it. He had learned his lesson from last time.

He appeared in the familiar void, and after deliberating for a while, he snapped his finger, and the terrain changed to a desolate world with a dark castle standing tall at the middle of it.

He entered the castle and went straight to the room he had prepared to be his inventory.

It was a vast hall underground. Easily the biggest room in the castle, where he offloaded his entire system inventory, turning the empty room into a vast mountain of glittering items.

Then he immediately got to work arranging them based on their ranks.

He didn’t want to have anything useful in his inventory at the risk of dropping it if his plan went south. Which was why he was doing this, to sort of separate his useless loots from the useful ones.

He was extremely fast and managed to sort them out differently across the room. The Epic Tier items formed the largest mountain in the room and were also the most useless items Kaelen decided to discard.

It was time to finally test his theory of devouring his loots.

He quickly transformed into a slime and jumped on the pile of Epic Tier loots, immediately devouring the entire mountain in mere seconds.

Kaelen had just started with the lowest-tier loot in his possession and was already up twelve digits!

An amount he never thought he could make in a few seconds just by devouring his trash loots.

Why didn’t I think of this before?

Next in line were the Starlight-tier loots, and Kaelen had already decided to dispose of them all, so he didn’t hesitate to jump on the pile of cyan-azure-coloured mountain.

In just a few minutes, Kaelen had accumulated one hundred and ninety-five billion Evolution Points. Numbers he didn’t nearly make after risking his life in the wasteland.

His eyes gleamed greedily as he jumped onto the pile of Legendary-tier golden items. He wanted everything gone as well.

Even if you were to remove the 10,000× Reward Multiplier, a Legendary Tier loot was still worth around one thousand Evolution Points. And that damn merchant from the first city had tried to trade one for what... 900 Evolution Points?!

Kaelen paused.

"...Wait."

He quickly recalculated.

His expression slowly stiffened.

"...Fuck."

The damn merchant was right.

Kaelen almost laughed and snapped his head towards the smaller pile of his Mythic Tier loots. He had sorted out all of his useful items from all the piles and kept them aside, though he was still thinking of leaving a few loots behind. But it didn’t make sense to leave anything behind now when he was going to be making even more the second he stepped foot inside the game. Talk less of when he entered the ruins of Antarctica.

He leaped across the room and jumped onto the pile of crimson-coloured Mythic Tier loots.

"Devour!"

Kaelen thought he couldn’t get any more surprised, but was knocked out of breath. He thought because the pile was much smaller, he would be getting a lower profit, but he was blatantly wrong.

He had made nearly twice the amount of the 120,000 Legendary Tier items, bringing his accumulated balance up to four trillion Evolution Points!

At this stage, Kaelen didn’t care about money any longer, but couldn’t help but do the mental calculation.

Nearly six trillion dollars?!

Kaelen didn’t need to do his research to know he was unofficially the richest man in the world... and the strongest.

He wasn’t there yet, but had accumulated enough Evolution Points to catch up with the Emperor in an instant. But Kaelen chose not to—yet.

Every Evolution Point he accumulated now was in preparation for the expedition.
