Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 750 Million Dollars?! C’mon, you can’t keep making this shit upChapter 7: 750 Million Dollars?! C’mon, you can’t keep making this shit up
The merchant stared at Kaelen in silence for a moment, as though he was trying to figure out if the slime was trolling him or genuinely didn’t know that much.
"The more yah talk, the more suspicious yah become. But I don’t care if yah robbed a guild or not. I can either pay yah 650 gold coins... or 975 Evolution Points," he said, stroking his beard.
Kaelen did the math and was surprised by the answer.
Not only were Evolution Points a valid currency in this world, they were valued at 1.5 gold coins each, making them the highest-value currency in Evolution Online.
But did that mean they were also convertible to real-world dollars?
A gold coin was valued at ten dollars in real-world conversion rates, making one Evolution Point worth fifteen dollars. And with a little over 50 million accumulated Evolution Points, did that mean he was now worth... 750 million dollars?!
Kaelen melted onto the floor like candle wax, terrifying the merchant, who thought he was dying.
’Wait...
If Evolution Points are worth this much...
Then every point I spend evolving is real money disappearing.
Every upgrade costs me actual wealth.’
One Evolution Point was worth fifteen dollars.
Every time he upgraded an attribute... he was literally burning money.
Ten Evolution Points.
One hundred and fifty dollars.
A thousand Evolution Points.
Fifteen thousand dollars.
One million Evolution Points...
Fifteen million dollars.
He paused to stare at his evolution tree differently.
"So becoming stronger..."
"...has always had a price."
He had always spent Evolution Points carelessly, purchasing expensive evolution attributes and upgrading them as high as his Evolution Point bank could carry.
He wasn’t discouraged, though. The insight only motivated him to fight harder in order to get stronger and devour even stronger beasts capable of generating enough Evolution Points to break his EP economy with a single 10,000× Multiplier.
At the end of the day, it all came down to strength.
Strength Kaelen was willing to achieve, even if it was the last thing he did.
He immediately sprang up from the floor and charged out of the merchant’s shop.
His destination?
Outside the city and far beyond it in a quest for evolution.
"What the hell?! What about the deal?" the merchant screamed behind him after Kaelen had left without the Legendary skill book.
A tentacle suddenly shot into the shop, grabbing the book before disappearing just as Kaelen yelled back to him, "No deal."
Heck, he had no reason to sell the Legendary skill book anymore. He had no reason to sell any of his loot for money, not after discovering an infinite money glitch: the 10,000× Reward Multiplier!
Kaelen dashed into the street and ran straight for the city gates. He didn’t stop after he crossed them, making a beeline for the mountains he had descended from. But all the Tier-0 and Tier-1 city guards saw was a blur followed by a powerful gust of wind.
"Was that a slime I just saw?" the same guard who had an altercation with a slime earlier blurted.
"Man, I’ve told you to stop smoking that shit before you enter the game."
"What? Y’know I quit smoking this morning."
Meanwhile...
A group of misfit players who had been climbing the mountain for a while had already noticed something was off with the forest. Not only had they not spotted a single beast, not even a dead one, but they were only noticing now that the singing of birds and chirping of insects were practically nonexistent.
"Tch. I knew we should have stayed behind to lay an ambush for all those spineless players when they left the city."
"Like that damn slime," the monkey said in a nasty tone.
"Exactly my point, Josh. He dared to talk to and collect money from my Goddess!" the fox who had spoken first spat disdainfully.
"You do know Black Rose doesn’t even know you exist, right?" the snake in the group said, pulling her male friends out of their unrealistic imaginations.
"Shut up, Lenny."
A sharp rustling sound suddenly came from the bushes, and before the group of misfits could react, they were surrounded by another sinister group.
"Goblins?" the fox growled as he bared his fangs. "Don’t even think about it. I’m a powerful F-rank awakener."
Kaelen, who had been charging through the forest, trying to circle around the mountain to an untouched part of the forest to start hunting, never expected to see any beasts in the forest and was surprised when he picked up a group of them having a standoff up ahead.
He smiled and immediately activated [Thunder Propulsion], closing the distance between him and them in an instant, and before they could even react, his Blade Whips were already in motion.
One moment, the two groups were in a standoff. The next, the fox and monkey had been decapitated, and there was a new enemy standing between them.

The goblins immediately stood on guard as they pointed their weapons everywhere but at the slime, looking for the threat in the forest.
"Huh?"
With a crack of his Blade Whips, the goblins felt their vision spin, and for a moment, they didn’t understand why they were admiring the sky from such a height before their heads dropped and rolled across the dirt.
