Third Person
When night came and Coco saw that her owner and her mate were busy sleeping, she jumped out of the bed and slipped right into the hole, leaving the terrace behind.
Angel, who had been pretending to be asleep the entire time, opened her eyes. She reached for her cell phone, clicking the screen on and shining the light directly into that hole to know where her baby girl disappeared to.
She knew exactly where that hole led, so she decided to follow her and see who Coco’s secret lover really was.
She reached over and shook sleeping April awake, asking her to escort her and find out what the cat was up to.
April glared at Angel, her eyes heavy and annoyed. She was not happy that Angel woke her up in the middle of the night just so she could follow a cat through the dark streets.
Still, April and Angel secretly followed Coco down the steps.
The moment they got out of the building, April just yawned along the way, wishing with all her heart that she was back in bed asleep. She was really having a nice dream before Angel dragged her out into the cold air.
"You know this is stalking, right?" April whispered to the focused Alpha as they walked together down the district road.
"It’s not stalking," Angel muttered back, her eyes locked straight ahead on the moving orange tail. "I just want to know who is the other cat in my little baby’s life."
"She is not a baby anymore, Angel," April said, rubbing the back of her neck. "She can do whatever she wants."
"I am her mother, and it’s my job to keep her safe, take care of her, and make sure she doesn’t find someone bad for her, she is still a baby.." Angel said, a genuine look of worry washing over her face. "My baby girl got knocked up by some reckless stray cat. This is not normal. She has never looked at any other cat before. Never."
April just sighed, accepting the fact that Angel wasn’t in a good place mentally at the moment. There was no point in arguing with an overly dramatic Alpha.
Coco finally stopped right in front of a building with a large flower neon sign, which turned out to be a local resort. She stopped on the pavement and meowed softly, looking around the quiet entrance.
Both girls quickly hid behind a thick bush nearby, secretly watching the orange cat from the shadows.
Then, from another angle around the corner of the building, a furry white cat stepped out into the faint neon light to meet Coco.
Angel watched in silence as Coco and the white cat started snuggling together right out in the open.
"I have never seen that cat in this district before," Angel whispered, her voice tightening as her hands gripped the leaves. "That cat should not be touching my Coco."
Angel’s terrified face looked so funny to April that she had to bite her lip to keep from laughing out loud
Angel pushed herself up, ready to march right out of the bushes and confront the two lovebirds, but April reached out and dragged her back down onto the grass.
"What are you doing?" Angel demanded in a low snap.
"Don’t go. Just let the cats be," April said happily, a warm smile spreading across her face as she watched the couple. "Look at them, they are in love."
"I need to meet that white demon and demand child support," Angel argued, pointing a finger through the leaves. "He knocked up my baby girl. Who do you think is paying for all that food and the vet bills?"
"Just let them be," April reasoned, keeping a firm grip on Angel’s sleeve. "Looking at the cat, he doesn’t look like a stray cat at all. His owner probably stays inside the resort. Tomorrow we will just ask the receptionist who brought in a white cat."
Angel grumbled, settling back down into the dirt. "Okay, fine. We will do that, and then I will torture the owner."
"No, you are not."
"I will," Angel said, her voice dead serious.
Then she turned her head back toward the two cats, only to find that they were actively mating right there on the concrete.
Angel’s face immediately turned into the expression of someone who was about to murder someone or have a sudden heart attack.
The Alpha actually started crying right there in the bush.
"That’s my baby," she sobbed out quietly, clutching her own chest.
April just tapped Angel’s shoulder gently, then reached over and covered her eyes with both hands so she would stop watching before she completely passed out in the bush.
The next day, Angel and April walked straight into the front lobby of the place, which was called Resort 24.
Angel marched up to the front desk and ordered the clerk to bring out whoever was staying there with a white furry cat. To make things faster, Angel pulled out her phone and showed a clear picture she had snapped of the cat from the night before.
In a resort of that size, there was only one person who had registered a cat, and it happened to be a white one.
The clerk checked her computer screen and said the person was currently out, but would be back anytime soon.
Then, while she was still talking to them, the clerk raised her hand and spotted the cat and its owner walking right through the front glass doors.
"There they are," she notified them, pointing toward the lobby entrance.
A woman dressed in a sharp red suit, a loose tie hanging around her neck, and high heels walked inside. Her dark, shoulder-length hair swayed gently as she stepped across the polished floor, and walking calmly right by her side was the exact same white cat from last night.
April stared at her face, her breath catching in her throat as she immediately recognized the woman.
"Tessa Johnson..."
