April
During my high school days, there was this specific set of people who made my life a complete living nightmare. They were one of the main reasons why I grew up disliking Alphas in the first place.
They bullied me relentlessly throughout those years, and I hated every single second of it.
Tessa Johnson happened to be right at the top of that list.
Bully Johnson.
I stood there frozen in the lobby, my eyes glued to her as she slowly approached the front counter. I swear my eyes could have shot real laser beams if that was humanly possible.
"Seriously, I can’t even look at other Omegas without you complaining, and here you are staring holes into another Alpha," Angel chimed in from beside me, her voice dripping with sudden irritation.
I turned my head to look at her, blinking in disbelief. "This is a mean look, Angel. I genuinely hate this person. But you look at other Omegas because you want to sleep with them."
"I have stopped doing , I don’t want to sleep with them anymore.... You used to give me that exact same look back then," Angel pouted, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. "There is zero difference."
"There is a huge difference now," My tone softening slightly as I reached out and wrapped my fingers around her wrist. "My look for you has completely changed." I tugged her forward slightly. "Come on, let’s go talk to that bitch."
"You also used to call me bitch," Angel muttered, letting me pull her along.
I shot a quick glare at the Alpha beside me.
I really couldn’t believe this girl was choosing right now to act all jelly over absolutely nothing.
We came here specifically for Coco Terror’s situation, and now she was standing here feeling insecure over some random Alpha I clearly despised.
We intercepted Tessa right before her hand could reach the counter to ask the clerk for her room key.
"Hello, Tessa Johnson," I said, stepping directly into her path.
Tessa stopped in her tracks, her eyes sweeping over my face as recognition slowly washed over her features.
Obviously, she was never going to forget me. She was my primary tormentor for years.
"Hey, it’s you," Tessa said, a faint, smooth smile spreading across her lips as she pointed a manicured finger at me. "April January, right?"
Before I could even open my mouth to respond, Angel took a sharp step forward, placing her body squarely in front of mine to block Tessa’s view.
"I don’t know how you two know each other’s names, and I honestly don’t give a shit right now," Angel said, cutting straight to the point without missing a single beat. "I’m here for child support. Your cat went ahead and impregnated my baby girl, and he is going to take full responsibility for it."
The fluffy white cat instantly shrank back, ducking down to hide behind his owner’s polished high heels.
I was completely sure that animal could understand every single word coming out of Angel’s mouth.
He already knew he was officially busted.
Tessa tilted her head, looking Angel up and down with a cold, unimpressed expression. "Huh. Who are you again?"
"I don’t need to give you my introduction," Angel snapped back, taking a threatening half-step closer. "Ask literally anyone in this district, and they will tell you exactly who I am."
"You could just save yourself the breath and introduce yourself like a normal person," Tessa replied calmly, raising an eyebrow.
"Fuck you," Angel barked, her voice echoing off the high lobby ceiling. "If you don’t want me to kill your demon cat right here on the spot, he had better start preparing for childcare. He is going to be a father, and he must take responsibility for what he did to my girl."
"My Percy is a complete gentleman and does not do such crude things," Tessa said, shifting her bag to her other shoulder. "I have had a very long day, and I need you two to get out of my way right now."
I rolled my eyes hard. This arrogant response was completely expected from someone like her.
Annoying, overly self-absorbed bitch.
"I’m not leaving," Angel stood her ground firmly, her jaw locked tightly as she glared down at her.
She was dead serious.
I stared at the side of Angel’s face, a sudden wave of worry hitting me.
Was she actually going to murder a cat over all this dramatic nonsense? And what would happen to Terror if Angel ended up in trouble?
I pushed myself through the small gap between them to take control of the situation.
"Okay, look, Tessa," I said, keeping my voice level and reasonable. "Your cat and her cat happen to be in love. And when people fall in love they do things together... We just want to cooperate and work things out maturely so we can find a solid solution for the upcoming situation."
Tessa didn’t even address my point. Instead, her eyes flicked between the two of us with a subtle smirk. "First, I would really like to ask, what is January doing walking around here together with a delinquent?"
"Delinquent!" Angel exploded, her eyes flashing with pure rage as she pointed violently at the white cat on the floor. "Your demon cat is the real delinquent here, failing to take responsibility for what he has done! I’m going to fucking break your bones, grind them to dust, and feed it straight to your ugly demon!"
"Just all bark and no bite," Tessa said flatly, her posture completely relaxed as she checked her wrist. "I should probably call security. This is rapidly becoming an assault."
"Assault?" Angel sneered, reaching into her pocket. "I will show you what that word actually means. I’m calling Anthony right now, and you will see what a real assault looks like."
Angel whipped her phone out of her pocket, her thumb hovering over the screen, fully prepared to dial.
"What is happening here?" a sharp, authoritative voice cut through the loud tension of the lobby.
Madam walked through the front glass doors, her presence immediately heavy and demanding attention.
Walking right by her side was Abigail, holding a stack of event folders, and standing just behind them was another girl I recognized all too well from my past.
Charlie Morgan.
I stood there in the middle of the lobby, completely stunned as my mind tried to process the scene.
This whole nightmare was starting to feel like an unwanted high school reunion, and it wasn’t even anywhere near that time yet.
