Angel
This has got to be one of my absolute worst days.
First, this demonic white fur cat somehow charmed and impregnated my baby.
For years, my dear Coco has never looked at any other cat in this district. They are not even remotely worthy of my goddess. And then these Goodland imposters brought in a literal demon as an excuse for a cat.
I swear I would have put a fucking bullet in both of their heads right then and there.
And then Madam, as usual, always putting her business right into my business.
I honestly don’t get why she constantly tries to interfere in my life. She is not my mom, and she will never be.
So she should stop acting like one...
I did not even bother to wait for her to explain who that bitch of an Alpha was.
I just grabbed my girl’s wrist and dragged her straight out of the resort lobby.
I will deal with that demon cat some other time. Total nonsense.
"Hey, slow down, will you?" April huffed from behind me as her feet scrubbed against the concrete. "Do I look like an Alpha to you?"
We were finally outside the resort, far away from that annoying place.
I came to a dead stop and turned around to face April. I really needed to get something off my chest right now.
I saw the exact way she looked at Perverto and that clown Alpha girl back there.
"So, you know them, huh?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.
"Yes, we went to the same high school," she said, scratching the back of her head as she tried to catch her breath. "Shouldn’t we go back to them and demand child support though?"
"Hmm, I know how to get what I want," I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest. "That demon cat will take care of his responsibility for what he put inside my babygirl."
I was still not happy about any of this. I seriously thought I was the only single person in that cat’s life.
I need to stop thinking about that stupid demon cat for a second and focus on this one standing right in front of me.
"So, high school friends, huh?" I pressed, stepping closer. "I thought you said you had no friends back then."
"No, no, no, no," she repeated fast, her voice rising as if I had deeply offended her. "They are not friends. They are more like enemies, especially that Alpha. I hate her."
Good. Keep on continuing to hate her. Because I absolutely hate it when I have to battle someone else for what belongs to me. That is literally one of the main reasons I obey her silly little rules, just so she won’t try to go out and find another Alpha.
So we continued to walk back down the main district road, but I still had this persistent itch to ask her why she hates that feminine Alpha so much.
"Should we go to the bathhouse?" April suggested suddenly, breaking the silence. "I really want to go there."
So we went to the bathhouse. It was one of the local public bath places in the district. Today, the number of people inside happened to be much fewer than usual. Thank goodness for that. I always browse the crowd levels online before actually going, so as to avoid bumping into past flings and completely avoiding April’s punishments for running into any of them.
We found ourselves a nice private tub. The water was refreshing and steamy, the vapor rising up toward the wooden ceiling.
I sank into the warm water, trying my best to relax and get my mind off that cat and her annoying owner.
I leaned my head back and looked over at April, who was relaxing on the opposite side, sipping from a glass bottle.
"Is that alcohol?" I asked, pointing straight at the bottle in her hand.
"Yes," she answered sharply, taking another quick gulp.
"Why are you drinking by this time?" I frowned at her. "You are seriously becoming an alcoholic."
Not gonna lie, April drinks way more than she used to. Ever since we became close, she started showing me entirely different sides of herself that I never knew existed.
I’m not mad about it, but seriously, she needs to stop drinking like this.
How are we even going to leave this place when she has a whole bookstore shift to cover later today?
I reached across the water, grabbed the alcohol bottle, and took it right out of her hand. I snapped my fingers twice, and an attendant appeared near the edge of the tub. I handed the bottle over, taking it completely away.
"Where are you taking my drink to?" April snapped, her eyes narrowing as she went to stand up.
Before she could fully stand up and go after the attendant, I reached out and dragged her body close to mine in the water. I picked up a couple of fresh grapes from the fruit tray resting on the edge and shoved them right into her open mouth.
"Enough of the drinks, okay?" I said, holding her close against my chest. "Chew something else instead."
She stopped moving and started slowly chewing the grapes.
Then, out of nowhere, her shoulders began to shake, and she started crying right there in my arms.
"What happened darling?" I asked softly.
I held her face between my hands, pushing her wet hair back to try and find out why she was suddenly crying so hard.
"I thought I would never see those two again after high school," she sobbed, tears spilling over her cheeks and mixing with the bathwater. "I can’t believe they are back in my life, and they couldn’t even apologize for what they did to me. They are just mean people. Bullies. Especially Tessa Johnson and her puppet girlfriend."
She wiped her nose on her arm, her chest heaving as the words poured out of her.
"They used to lock me in the school toilet for hours," she cried, burying her wet face directly into my neck. "Charlie stole my bag and burnt it to ashes. That was the bag my dad bought for me before he completely left me behind. Everyone always bullies me...."
She cried heavily against my body, her fingers clutching tightly to my shoulders.
I slowly petted her head, stroking her wet hair over and over to calm the Omega down.
As I held her, a cold knot formed right in the middle of my chest.
I really don’t know how to be in her shoes right now, because I happen to belong to the exact same lane of people she hates so much.
I also used to torment her when she first came into my life. I wasn’t any better than those two bullies back then.
And sitting here in the warm water with her crying in my arms, it really makes me wonder why she even likes me at all.
