Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 121: The Morningstars has ReturnedThird Person
The Morningstars were back after spending months traveling around the world together and living completely as they pleased.
Little did they know what had really been going on between their daughters while they were away.
Madam had personally arranged a grand dinner party down by the water to celebrate their return to the district. It was nighttime, and the soft sound of ocean waves hummed in the background.
Important people from all over the district and city were gathered on the smooth sand of the beach, with round dining tables neatly arranged for every specific group.
The Morningstars had their very own head table set up near the front, sitting together just like a normal, happy family.
Obviously not.
Angel never attended any public gathering or formal dinner where her mother was present. Honestly speaking, ever since Angel’s biological mom passed away, both mother and daughter had barely spoken two words to each other. Even before her mom’s death, they had always had an extremely complicated and tense relationship.
April, on the other hand, always attended these formal dinners with her stepmother and mother, but it was never held here in the district. It was usually inside the main city or at the mansion.
Her parents were honestly a little surprised to see April showing up in the district for this specific event.
Today, however, Angel actually happened to be present for the dinner as well. At first, she didn’t want to come anywhere near the beach, but April had begged her to attend, and Angel agreed to sit at that table just for her sake.
While the crowded beach was filled with people enjoying their catered dinner, Madam stood up gracefully and raised her glass of red wine to toast the Master’s official return.
During the entire formal speech, Angel just sat back in her chair and rolled her eyes. She definitely wasn’t having any of it.
Everyone around the beach clapped politely as Madam finished her toast and sat back down.
Then, Ms. Morningstar stood up to address the crowd. Just like Angel, she possessed striking wine-red hair and wore a dark-blue fitted suit that made her look remarkably outstanding against the night backdrop. She naturally carried herself with an immense air of wealth, authority, and unbroken confidence.
Mrs. Morningstar began giving her long speech, talking at length about their luxurious adventures abroad and how deeply she loved her beautiful, darling wife.
None of her sweet words really reached Angel’s ears, until she suddenly heard a specific phrase drop from her mother’s mouth:
"Celebrating six years of marriage....."
Angel was instantly forced to focus on her surroundings, her posture stiffening.
Even the people sitting at the nearby tables were left completely speechless by that casual statement. It was supposed to be a four-year marriage if everyone’s basic calculations were correct. But nobody on this beach dared to openly question the powerful Master of the district.
"You married your mistress before my mom died?"
Those were the very first cold words that came tumbling out of Angel’s mouth.
Her voice was loud enough for everyone sitting at their round table to hear clearly, yet soft enough to sound far more disappointed than genuinely angry.
Mrs. Morningstar hadn’t even properly sat back down in her chair before Angel uttered those calm, deadly words.
Even April, who was completely shocked by the realization, couldn’t say a single word. She, too, had always been under the firm impression that her mother had gotten married exactly four years ago.
The family round table fell into a dead, suffocating silence before April’s mom finally decided to speak up to defend the moment. She reached over, gently held her wife’s hand, and smiled warmly at the Master.
"Yes. We were quietly married a year before your late mom...."
"I wasn’t talking to you, whore," Angel snapped sharply at the woman, her eyes locking onto her with raw hatred. "I’m talking directly to my mother, and you had better keep that slut mouth of yours shut."
"Angel!"
Mrs. Morningstar slammed her flat hand down hard against the wooden surface of the table, making the wine glasses rattle.
"I did not even invite you here tonight," Mrs. Morningstar barked, her eyes blazing with fury. "If you can’t speak to your stepmother with basic respect, then get up and leave right now."
"You never spoke to Mom with respect either," Angel shot back without flinching. "You cheated on her and got yourself a cheap second wife while she was still breathing. That whore sitting next to you is never going to be my mom or my stepmom. A mistress will always be a mistress."
Mrs. Morningstar could no longer tolerate Angel’s blatant disrespect, especially as the guests at the other surrounding tables were beginning to turn their heads and notice their loud argument.
"Anthony!" she shouted at the top of her lungs, calling for head security.
Anthony, who was seated quietly at his own security table nearby, immediately stood up straight.
"Yes, Master?"
"Get the Young Master out of my presence right now," Mrs. Morningstar commanded sternly. "I do not wish to see her arrogant face for another second."
Before Anthony’s security men could even make a move toward the table, Angel stood up entirely on her own and decided to leave the section.
Just when Mrs. Morningstar thought the unruly brat was finally going to walk away without causing any more public chaos, Angel reached down and firmly grabbed April’s hand.
"Come on, April," Angel said softly, looking down at her. "Let’s leave this place."
April, who had remained completely silent throughout the entire brutal argument, looked up at Angel, and then quickly glanced over at her stunned parents.
"What on earth do you think you are doing?" Mrs. Morningstar snapped, her voice rising in frustration. "Leave your sister’s hand alone this instant and get the fuck out of my district!"
She had seen the tight way Angel was holding April’s fingers and actually assumed it was just one of those typical times where Angel was trying to pick on her or drag her around.
Angel just looked down at her mother and let a sharp, mocking smirk spread across her face.
Then, with one strong pull, she yanked April straight up onto her feet, drawing the Omega right into her space and wrapping a firm, protective arm directly around her waist.
"You have always wanted the two of us to get along," Angel said, her voice carrying clearly across the silent clearing as she looked directly into her mother’s eyes. "You always wanted me to accept her into this family."
Angel tightened her grip on April’s hip.
"Well, Mother, I have finally accepted April. Not as my sister, but as my lover."
That sudden news wasn’t particularly shocking to the local district people sitting at the other tables, mostly because the vast majority of them already knew what had been happening over the past few months.
But the elder Morningstars had absolutely no clue.
April’s mother almost choked on her glass of chilled fruit juice, her mouth hanging wide open in utter disbelief.
Mrs. Morningstar stood right up from her table, her face turning pale as she remained completely unable to process the words her daughter had just uttered out loud.
"What... what are you talking about?"
"I’m going to marry April," Angel stated firmly, looking her mother dead in the eyes without a trace of fear.
Before Angel could say another single word, Mrs. Morningstar swung her arm around and slapped her daughter hard directly across the face.
PAK!
The sharp, brutal sound echoed loudly across the entire quiet beach, cutting through the ocean breeze.
"You imprudent, useless child!" her mother screamed at the top of her voice, her whole body trembling with rage.
April flinched hard at the terrifying sound of the impact, pulling her head back in shock.
Everyone sitting around them went completely silent, freezing in place as they watched the violent family fallout unfold.
Yet Angel didn’t even flinch. She just stood her ground, her face turned slightly to the side from the force of the blow.
Getting hit by her parents was just like a normal Tuesday for Angel Morningstar.
