It had been two whole days since April and Angel officially started dating. All they had really done together so far was have a quiet breakfast, go for peaceful walks down the sidewalk with Coco, share quick snacks, and sit down for dinner together every evening.
On the second day, when they finally decided to go out and watch a movie as a proper romantic date, Benny called April’s phone, desperately begging her to come over to her location right away.
Angel didn’t like the sudden disruption one bit, but April gently reassured her that she could just tag along, and that right after dealing with Benny, they would immediately continue their romantic date.
So, a short while later, they were sitting inside a quiet bookstore located in the city.
Benny was clearly not happy at all to see Angel standing right next to April.
The three of them walked over and sat down together in a private, quiet corner.
"Benny, you can go ahead and say whatever you want to say freely," April said, reaching over and firmly holding Angel’s hand in her lap. "Angel is my girlfriend now."
"You heard that, Scentless Beta?" Angel piped up, grinning like a happy big baby who had finally gotten her favorite candy. "I am her official girlfriend."
"Wow... I’m not entirely surprised, but still, wow," Benny muttered, rubbing her forehead. "Okay, fine. Since she clearly isn’t leaving us alone... April, I really need your help with something major."
Benny focused all of her attention directly on April, completely ignoring the smug Alpha beside her.
Angel raised one of her eyebrows, genuinely wondering what on earth this Beta could possibly want with her girlfriend.
"I want to elope with Mary," Benny blurted out.
"Huh?" April blinked, caught off guard.
"Wait, you want to marry the sexy virgin Mary?" Angel purred out with a playful smirk.
April immediately shot her girlfriend a sharp glare, squeezing her hand a little too tightly.
"Hey, you were the one who said I could still keep my natural swag," Angel whispered quickly, trying her best to escape her girlfriend’s warning gaze. "But seriously, let me shut up and let’s listen to what she has to say."
"Look, it’s really not what it looks like at all," Benny explained, leaning forward across the table. "Okay... Mary never actually wanted to be a nun in the first place. Matter of fact, she was completely forced into becoming a nun against her will. We went to the exact same middle school together back then. Then, her parents’ massive inheritance was supposed to be handed directly over to her when she turned 18 by her uncle, but instead, he locked her away in the orphanage and forced her to become a nun. That kept her completely restricted from having any normal social life while he quietly stole her entire inheritance."
Benny took a deep breath before continuing. "But that’s not even the main thing here. Mary doesn’t even care about getting the money or the inheritance back. She just wants a free, peaceful life, far away from all that family greed. I plan on taking her far away from here so we can finally get married and live together properly."
Hearing that heavy truth made April completely change her initial view of Benny and Mary being together.
"Who the fuck is this potty uncle anyway?" Angel asked, her tone shifting into something far more dangerous.
"Your best friend’s husband," April said, looking over at Angel.
"That old bag of bones..." Angel growled, her eyes narrowing in realization. "So his vast wealth isn’t even his actual wealth. I knew it all along. He married Abby purely for money. Total gold digger. I am personally going to teach that bastard a lesson he will never forget."
"Please, no," Benny begged, waving her hands frantically. "Let him just have whatever money he wants. That inheritance is the main reason he keeps her captive inside the orphanage in the first place. Mary doesn’t care about the cash, she just wants to be completely free."
"So, what exactly do you want April to do about it?" Angel asked, folding her arms. "Lure her out of the orphanage and steal her away?"
"I really wish I could just do that, but Mary isn’t allowed to step foot outside at all," Benny said, leaning in closer. "But we have a rare opportunity coming up. There’s a big wedding anniversary party going on starting tomorrow, and five nuns were officially invited to attend. Mary happens to be one of them, and that will literally be the very first time she is ever allowed away from the orphanage grounds. On that event ship, we plan to elope."
"A ship, an anniversary..." Angel scoffed, connecting the dots in her head. "You’re talking about the Morningstars’ anniversary party?"
"Yes, that is completely right," Benny confirmed, looking hopefully at the two of them. "And since you two are Morningstars, you can easily help me pull off my plan. I will also be joining the party on board."
"No."
That single word was completely final coming from Angel.
April immediately understood her girlfriend’s firm answer, but she gently asked Benny to give her a quick moment so she could speak with Angel in private.
"Come on, let’s please help them," April said softly once they stepped away.
The two of them were standing close together behind a tall, quiet bookshelf.
"They are genuinely in love with each other..." April added, looking up into Angel’s eyes.
"No, April," Angel said, shaking her head. "I am so happy right now. These past two days with you have been so great, even without the sex. I really don’t want to ruin what we just started. Our parents didn’t come back home because they are out in that district doing whatever they want, and I honestly don’t care. Seeing our parents again isn’t good for either of us. They just constantly remind us of our childhoods."
April reached out and gently hugged Angel, wrapping her arms around her and resting her cheek against her chest.
"I know they do," April whispered into her shirt. "I don’t want to see my mother either, but we really need to help people who are truly in love. Mary is such a nice person, and I have personally seen the real love they have for each other. Let us please help them so they can finally love each other freely."
Having April hug her so sweetly like this was severely affecting the Alpha’s train of thought.
"See?" Angel grumbled softly, though her arms naturally wrapped around April’s back anyway. "You are doing it all over again, seducing me."
"Argh, girl..." April groaned, pulling back slightly to look at her. "How many times have you uttered that word today? Are you actually helping her or not?"
"Fine, let me agree to do it," Angel sighed, running a hand through her wine-red hair. "But only if you let me take you on a proper trip afterward."
April’s eyes lit up slightly. "Hmm, a vacation... We didn’t get to do that the first time we tried that fake dating logic. Let me go on a real romantic vacation with you. Where do you want to take me, girlfriend?"
April bit her inner lip gently as she looked directly up at the tall Alpha.
"It’s a big surprise," Angel whispered down to her, leaning in close.
She pressed a sweet, tender kiss right onto April’s lips.
With that sealed, they walked back over and finally agreed to help Benny and Mary execute their big escape plan.
