Camila leaned towards me.

"What happened, Lia?"

"I don’t know," I said, looking at Camila, who was already really worried about me.

I walked out of the classroom and headed towards the principal’s office.

The entire way there, my mind was racing.

Was this about Dana?

Had someone reported me already?

Or was it because of everything that happened with the Winston family?

I stopped in front of the office door and took a deep breath before knocking.

"Come in."

I pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The principal looked up from his computer and gestured for me to sit down.

I nodded and sat down. My heart was pounding in my chest.

"Amelia," the principal said, folding his hands on the desk.

"Yes, sir?" I replied.

"You are competing in the esports competition for our school, right?" he asked.

I blinked and stared at the principal for a moment.

"Yes, sir," I replied.

The principal smiled. "I just wanted to wish you and your team the best of luck."

For a moment, I just stared at him again.

That was it?

I had spent the entire walk here preparing for the worst.

"Thank you, sir," I said, finally relaxing.

"I also hired an esports tutor for your team. I want all of you to go there, train properly, and bring that trophy back," he said, raising his hands as if he were already holding the trophy.

I couldn’t help but smile.

"Thank you, sir."

He nodded and handed me the tutor’s contact information.

I thanked him again before standing up to leave.

"Amelia," he called just as I turned.

I paused immediately.

"For whatever it’s worth... don’t let pressure get to you. You’ve been performing well."

I blinked in surprise. Then nodded. "Yes, sir."

And walked out of his office.

As soon as I came out, I looked back at the office, still surprised by what had just happened.

I honestly thought something was wrong.

Maybe Dana had gone crying to a teacher.

Maybe someone had reported me for pouring juice on her.

Or maybe the principal wanted to talk about everything that had happened in the morning.

I had spent the entire walk to his office preparing for the worst.

Instead, he had called me there just to wish me luck for the esports competition and introduce a tutor for our team.

I let out a small laugh and shook my head.

My life had become so chaotic these past few days that I automatically expected bad news whenever anyone called my name.

The hallway was quieter now since classes had already started. The sound of my footsteps echoed softly as I walked back.

As I passed the trophy display near the main corridor, I stopped for a moment.

The esports trophy stood behind the glass, reflecting the hallway lights.

I stared at the empty space beside it where another trophy could fit.

Last year’s defeat still felt fresh. I remembered the final match, the silence after we lost, the disappointment on the faces of my teammates, and the pressure that followed.

But this year...

I clenched my fingers a little.

"This time, we win," I muttered. "I won’t let history repeat itself again."

A passing student glanced at me strangely, but I ignored it.

For the first time since my birthday, I wasn’t thinking about being a fake heiress.

I wasn’t thinking about Sylvia.

I wasn’t thinking about the whispers.

I was only thinking about winning.

I turned and continued walking. When I reached the classroom door, I could already hear Miss Olivia teaching inside.

I knocked lightly before opening the door.

Immediately, every student’s eyes turned toward me.

The whispers started again. I ignored them and walked back to my seat.

As I sat down, Sylvia quietly slid an apple juice box across the desk toward me.

I looked at it and then at her.

"What?" I whispered.

"You looked stressed," she whispered back.

I stared at the juice box for a few seconds before looking away.

Why was she always like this?

"What happened?" Camila whispered the moment I sat down.

"Nothing," I said, opening my book.

"Lia." She called, poking me.

I leaned back in my chair. "The principal was talking about the esports competition."

Immediately, Camila’s eyes widened.

"The national one? The one you showed me on your phone."

I nodded.

Westbrook High had made it to the finals for the first time in years. And unfortunately for me, I was the captain of the team.

"Wait..." Camila leaned closer. "Did he scold you?"

"No. Instead, he hired an esports tutor for us."

"What?" Camila nearly shouted.

Several students turned to look at us.

Miss Olivia cleared her throat.

"Miss Everton."

"Sorry, Miss Olivia," Camila said quickly, smiling.

The class laughed softly.

I looked down at the paper the principal had given me.

Miss Olivia clapped her hands together.

"Alright, everyone. Open your textbooks to page eighty-three."

I couldn’t stay focused because every few minutes I could feel someone staring at me.

I turned my head a little, and Sylvia immediately looked away.

I frowned and looked back at my textbook.

A few minutes later, I turned a little, and Sylvia was already leaning closer than I expected. Our shoulders almost brushed before she quickly shifted back and looked down at her notebook.

What is wrong with her?

The lesson continued.

Soon, the bell rang for break, and the hallway filled with students rushing toward the cafeteria.

Daniela leaned closer to me. "What do you want for lunch?"

"She usually only has snacks for lunch," Camila said, packing her books.

"Let’s go to the cafeteria," I said, picking up my bag.

"Huh? What did you just say?" Camila asked, looking surprised.

"Sylvia didn’t have breakfast before coming to school," I said, staring at Camila.

"Are you worried about her?" Camila asked, laughing softly.

"No. I just don’t want anyone to faint on me," I said, looking away.

Sylvia smiled, packed her books, and picked up her bag.

"Thanks, Amelia," she said, tilting her head toward me.

"Don’t thank me. I don’t want Mom to worry," I replied, then walked away.

I smiled a little and shook my head.

Camila watched the two of us and laughed. She picked up her bag and walked toward us.

"I’ll feed you, Lia," Daniela said, looking at me.

"Huh?" I blinked, caught off guard.
