I pulled the door shut behind me as I stepped out of Sylvia’s room.

I walked down the hallway toward the staircase, the quiet sound of my footsteps echoing softly through the house.

"Sir Martin," I called as I started down the stairs.

A moment later, he appeared with my keys in his hand.

I reached the bottom of the stairs and walked over to him, taking the keys from his hand.

"Thanks," I said, already turning toward the front door.

"You’re welcome, Miss," he replied before turning around and walking away.

I tightened my fingers around the keys and continued toward the front door.

"Wait," I said, immediately turning back to him.

"Yes, Miss?" He looked at me.

"Give Sylvia my other car key when she comes down."

Sir Martin nodded. "Okay, Miss."

I nodded and turned around, continuing toward the front door.

I pushed the door open and walked outside.

The cool morning breeze immediately brushed against my face. It felt refreshing against my skin, carrying the faint scent of the grass and flowers around the house.

I took a deep breath before walking toward my car and pressing the key fob.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

The headlights flashed once as the car unlocked.

I walked over to the driver’s seat and opened the door. I slipped inside and closed it behind me, cutting off the cool morning air.

I placed my keys inside and started the engine.

The car hummed softly to life, and the gentle vibration of the engine settled beneath me.

I adjusted myself in the seat before pulling out of the parking lot.

The morning was already beginning, and I had no idea how long the training was going to take.

I pressed down on the gas pedal and drove off. The engine responded with a low hum as the car picked up speed.

I tapped my fingers lightly against the steering wheel, watching the road ahead as I moved past the other cars.

For a moment, I glanced toward the empty passenger seat.

A small smile tugged at my lips. "I’m already missing her," I whispered to myself.

I shook my head and focused back on the road, pressing down on the gas pedal again.

The scenery outside blurred slightly as I drove, the morning light reflecting off the windshields of the passing cars. Cool air flowed through the vents, brushing lightly against my face while the faint scent of my perfume lingered inside the car.

After some time, I finally arrived at Camila’s apartment.

I drove into the parking area and immediately noticed that the spot where Camila usually parked was already occupied by a brand-new dark gray Toyota Sequoia Capstone.

I slowed down as I stared at the SUV for a moment.

The large body, sleek finish, and expensive look made me smile.

"Looks like she’s here because this looks like the car only Cam would buy," I muttered under my breath.

I drove past it and parked my car in an empty space nearby. I switched off the engine, and the sudden quiet inside the car made me realize how loud the engine had been.

I pushed the door open and stepped out. The warm morning air brushed against my skin as I closed the door behind me.

I pressed the key fob.

Beep.

The car locked with a soft click. I slipped the keys into my bag and looked toward the apartment building.

I could already hear faint sounds coming from inside.

Looks like everyone was already here.

I turned and walked toward the front door. I climbed the small steps before pressing the doorbell.

The bell rang softly inside the apartment.

The door opened almost immediately. My eyes widened the moment I saw who was standing there.

Camila.

"Cam..." I called softly.

Before I could even think about it, I stepped forward and wrapped my arms tightly around her.

"I missed you."

She stood still for a second, probably caught off guard by how quickly I hugged her. Then she wrapped her arms around me too.

"I missed you too," she whispered near my ear.

I smiled and hugged her even tighter.

I really had missed her. I didn’t want to let go just yet.

"Mhmmhm."

A throat cleared from somewhere inside the apartment.

I slowly looked up.

"Are we going to continue watching you two reunite, or are we starting the game already?"

I pulled away from Camila and looked inside.

Caleb was standing there with an amused look on his face.

I rolled my eyes.

"Give me a minute. I haven’t seen her in forever."

Caleb shook his head. "It’s been how long? Two days?"

I frowned at him. "Still long enough."

Camila laughed softly beside me and gently pulled me inside. "Come on before he starts complaining again."

I stepped into the apartment, smiling. "Good to see you too, Caleb."

He nodded. "Good to see you, Amelia. Now let’s get to work."

"Hi, Sasha, Danny, and Felix," I said, waving at them as I walked toward the sofa.

"Hi," Sasha replied, immediately looking at Camila before turning her attention back to me. "Looks like someone will finally get to sit down now."

Danny laughed softly and reached into Sasha’s popcorn bucket, grabbing a handful.

I looked at Sasha, then down at the popcorn bucket in her hands.

"You really prepared before coming."

Sasha smiled and shook her head. "Not at all. Camila bought all these."

I turned to Camila. She only shrugged, leaning back comfortably against the sofa.

"I just felt like buying them."

I looked around at the snacks and drinks scattered across the table before looking back at her.

"Just felt like buying them?"

Camila nodded. "Yep."

Danny laughed softly as she reached into the popcorn bucket again.

"Don’t question her. We were hungry, and she decided to feed everyone."

Camila rolled her eyes. "I didn’t feed anyone. I just bought snacks."

I laughed and shook my head before finally sitting down on the sofa.

The cool air from the air conditioner brushed against my skin, while the smell of popcorn filled the room.

For a moment, I almost forgot about the competition.

Then Felix suddenly looked up from his phone. "Are we going to start training, or are we having a picnic?"

I looked at the popcorn in Sasha’s hands.

"Honestly, I vote for the picnic."

Everyone burst out laughing.

Felix sighed and shook his head. "I knew this was going to happen."

"Are you all fully ready?" Felix asked again, looking at each of us.

Caleb immediately stood up. "Yes, Coach. Please, let’s proceed."

Felix shook his head and folded his arms across his chest.:"I mean, are you ready for this hectic month of training?"

None of us answered.

The room suddenly went quiet.

Honestly, none of us were really prepared for this.

The competition being moved to next month had caught all of us off guard. We had expected to have more time, more room to breathe, and enough time to balance everything else we had going on.

Now, everything had been pushed forward.

"Whether we’re ready or not, we’re still going to do it," Felix said, breaking the silence.

He looked around at all of us before continuing.

"So let’s start with today’s training. And just so everyone is aware, we’ll be having training every night from now on." He paused. "Which apparently starts today, so plan yourselves well."

Danny’s eyes widened. "Every night?"

Felix nodded.

Danny groaned loudly and slid down the sofa until she was almost lying across it. "This is really fucked up."

Sasha laughed quietly beside her.

I couldn’t help sighing.

A whole month of intense training.

Every night.

My shoulders already felt tired just thinking about it.

Felix clapped his hands once, bringing everyone’s attention back to him.

"Enough complaining. Everyone, get up. We’re heading to the gaming room."

Danny groaned and slowly pushed herself off the sofa. "Can’t we have five minutes to mentally prepare?"

"No," Felix answered immediately.

Caleb laughed as he stood up. "Come on, Danny. Let’s go."

I picked up my phone from my bag and followed them out of the living room.

The gaming room was just opposite the living room.

Felix opened the door, and the cool air from the room immediately brushed against my skin.

This was our gaming room.

Each of us had our own station, our own gaming chair, and our own computer already set up exactly the way we liked it.

The large monitors sat neatly on the desks, their screens glowing softly. Our keyboards, mice, headsets, and controllers were all arranged in their usual places.

I walked straight to my station and pulled out my chair. The soft leather creaked beneath me as I sat down.

I placed my phone beside the keyboard and looked at my computer.

Everything was exactly where I had left it.

Felix walked into the room behind us and closed the door.

"Everyone, get comfortable. We’re starting now."

I slipped my headset over my ears and adjusted it.

I turned to look at Camila, who was sitting beside me.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

She nodded and turned to put on her headset.

Danny spun her chair slightly before settling down. Sasha was already switching on her computer, while Caleb reached for his mouse.

One by one, the monitors came to life, filling the room with a soft electronic hum.

Felix folded his arms across his chest.

"Today’s training is going to be intense. Don’t expect me to go easy on any of you."

Danny sighed. "We already know."

"Good."

I rested my fingers against the keyboard and took a deep breath.

The joking was over.

The competition had been moved forward, and now we had only one month to prepare.

I looked at the screen in front of me.

It was time to train.
