Falsely Accused, I Started Plundering Monster Traits
Chapter 25: [Goblin Incursion]Lin Yan opened the catalog.
[Available Convergence Records: 1]
[Goblin Incursion]
[Exchangeable items are limited to resources recorded within completed convergences.]
Lin Yan stared at the last line.
For some reason, he suddenly had a bad feeling about this.
He opened the record.
As if to confirm his suspicion, the exchange list appeared.
[Goblin Incursion — Exchange List]
[Wooden Club — 10 Contribution Points]
[Iron Club — 50 Contribution Points]
[Wooden Spear — 10 Contribution Points]
[Stone-Tipped Spear — 25 Contribution Points]
[Iron-Tipped Spear — 50 Contribution Points]
[Stone Axe — 25 Contribution Points]
[Iron Axe — 50 Contribution Points]
[Crusher’s Iron Maul — 500 Contribution Points]
[Goblin Bloodline — 800 Contribution Points]
[Trollblood Goblin Bloodline — 3,000 Contribution Points]
[Additional Requirement: F-Grade Authorization Certificate ×1]
Lin Yan waited for the rest to load, then tried scrolling when nothing happened. The list didn’t move.
"...That’s it?"
His expression slowly twisted.
"You couldn’t give me the kind of store they had in Infinite Horror? Fine. At least give me something like Reincarnation Paradise."
[If Earth possessed resources on that scale, an F-Grade incursion would have been eliminated the moment the two worlds came into contact.]
[There would be no need to rely on small fry like you.]
Lin Yan’s face darkened.
"...Was that last part necessary?"
[Yes.]
He looked over the list again.
Clubs. Spears. Axes. Goblin bloodlines.
"Fine. But did it really have to be this garbage?"
Lin Yan opened the Goblin Bloodline.
[Goblin Bloodline]
[Permanently assimilates the physiological characteristics of a Goblin.]
[Provides modest improvements to physical strength, agility, low-light vision and combat instinct.]
[Source-species physiological and cognitive defects are retained.]
[Bloodline assimilation is irreversible.]
Lin Yan’s eyebrows shot up.
Eight hundred.
Eight hundred fucking points?
"Eight hundred points just to turn myself into a fucking goblin?"
He opened the Trollblood Goblin Bloodline next.
[Trollblood Goblin Bloodline]
[Permanently assimilates the physiological characteristics of a Trollblood Goblin.]
[Provides major improvements to physical strength, vitality, recovery and muscular development.]
[Source-species physiological and cognitive defects are retained.]
[Bloodline assimilation is irreversible.]
Trollblood I alone had already reduced him to flexing and screaming "POWER" at the ceiling. Add a goblin’s defects on top of that, make the whole thing permanent, and God knew what would happen to his brain.
Three thousand Contribution Points and his only F-Grade Authorization Certificate for the privilege?
Fuck that.
He closed the page.
As for the weapons, they were even less tempting. Better clubs, axes and spears could be bought online with ordinary money instead of wasting Contribution Points on crude goblin workmanship.
Even the Crusher’s maul wasn’t particularly impressive once he looked past its size. A standard twenty-kilogram Olympic bar from a decent gym was made from steel with far better strength, toughness and resistance to permanent deformation than Gorak’s crude lump of iron.
Gorak’s hammer was primitive by comparison.
It just happened to weigh 80.1 kilograms.
It reminded Lin Yan of walking up to an arcade prize counter after spending hours piling up tickets, only to find the display case full of plastic whistles, rubber balls and cheap keychains.
He had 9,500 Contribution Points and nothing worth redeeming them for.
Right. I never checked the Trait Plunder notifications from the last batch of goblins.
He opened the System and pulled up the records.
[Unreviewed Trait Plunder records: 15.]
[New Trait acquired: Goblin Bloodline I.]
[Duplicate Traits: 14.]
[All duplicate Traits: White.]
[Brawn I ×3.]
[Low-Light Vision I ×2.]
[Rough Skin I ×3.]
[Minor Regeneration I ×1.]
[Battle Instinct I ×2.]
[Agility I ×2.]
[Goblin Language Proficiency I ×1.]
Lin Yan raised an eyebrow and opened the only new one.
[Goblin Bloodline I.]
[Quality: Gray.]
[Effect: While equipped, partially assimilates the physiological characteristics of a Goblin.]
[Provides minor improvements to physical ability, low-light vision and combat instincts.]
[Inherent physiological and cognitive defects are retained.]
Lin Yan stared at the description.
"System, this thing is Gray, but Brawn, Agility and Battle Instinct were all White. How does that work?"
[Trait Plunder always extracts the strongest eligible characteristic possessed by the individual target.]
Lin Yan paused.
"The individual?"
[Correct. Not the species.]
He understood.
"So for the ones that gave me Brawn, strength was their best trait. The ones that gave me Agility were better at moving..."
He stopped.
"Then the one that gave me Goblin Language Proficiency was just really fucking good at talking?"
[Essentially.]
Lin Yan looked back at Goblin Bloodline I.
"...So this poor bastard’s best trait was being a goblin."
[Yes.]
[Total Traits acquired: 25.]
[Unique Traits: 10.]
[Duplicate Trait copies: 15.]
[Current equipped traits:]
[Brawn I — White.]
[Battle Instinct I — White.]
[Agility I — White.]
[Empty Slot.]
[Stored in Trait Library:]
[Low-Light Vision I — White.]
[Rough Skin I — White.]
[Minor Regeneration I — White.]
[Goblin Language Proficiency I — White.]
[Vitality I — White.]
[Goblin Bloodline I — Gray.]
[Trollblood I — Pseudo-Green.]
"Equip Vitality I."
[Vitality I equipped.]
Lin Yan closed the System, pulled the blanket over himself and closed his eyes.
Within minutes, he was asleep.
Elsewhere, the Federal Security Directorate had already sealed the file bearing his name under Level IV classification.
