Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband
Chapter 151: A New RivalLukan noticed that Sora didn’t respond to his compliment.
He didn’t seem bothered in the slightest.
He simply smiled, returned to his usual seat, and settled down.
Then he glanced at the empty seat beside him.
"It’s almost time to eat," Lukan said casually. "Why hasn’t Ryan come yet? Is he preparing for his date?"
The atmosphere around the table immediately changed.
A moment earlier, everyone had been quietly watching Sora prepare breakfast.
Now, several pairs of eyes subtly shifted toward one another.
Ace immediately shot Damien an irritated look.
Why did he have to bring that up?
Was there really a need to mention Ryan’s date so early in the morning?
Even though Ace didn’t want to admit it, the thought made him feel sour.
Perhaps Ryan really had gone somewhere to prepare.
If Ace were the one going on a date with Sora, he would certainly dress up.
He had already imagined the perfect outfit.
His most colorful feather clothing.
The brightest feathers.
The most striking patterns.
He would make sure Sora couldn’t take her eyes off him.
Surely Ryan would be doing something similar.
Ace’s expression became slightly darker.
The others were having similar thoughts.
Xavier remained quiet, but his eyes narrowed slightly.
Lucas’s tail moved once behind him.
Even Damien, who had started the conversation, didn’t seem to realize how much tension his casual question had created.
Lukan, meanwhile, simply smiled.
He had expected the beastmen to argue.
Surprisingly, everyone remained calm.
Sora didn’t even seem particularly interested.
She continued working as though the conversation had nothing to do with her.
Lukan couldn’t help wondering whether she had heard him at all.
Soon, the noodles were ready.
Sora removed them from the boiling water and quickly blanched the wild vegetables.
She placed the noodles into bowls, then added minced garlic, her homemade dried chili powder, and soy sauce.
She had no vinegar, so she used the sour juice of a wild fruit instead.
Finally, she heated oil until it was hot and fragrant before pouring it over the garlic and chili.
A sizzling sound filled the kitchen.
The aroma immediately spread through the air.
The beastmen around the table instinctively swallowed.
Even those who had been distracted by thoughts of Ryan’s date couldn’t resist the smell.
Sora mixed the noodles carefully.
The bright chili oil coated the long strands, while the garlic and sour fruit juice gave the dish a rich, sharp fragrance.
When she carried the bowls toward the table, she glanced at Ryan’s empty seat.
Still empty.
Sora’s expression became thoughtful.
So he really was affected by what happened yesterday.
She couldn’t blame him.
The accidental kiss at the hot spring had been awkward enough.
And Ryan had fled immediately afterward.
Sora still didn’t completely understand what had happened to his affection and attraction values.
But today’s date would undoubtedly be more complicated because of it.
She set the noodles down.
Just then, she heard movement outside.
Ryan finally appeared.
Sora looked up in surprise.
She had honestly wondered whether he would come at all.
Ryan said nothing.
He simply walked over, sat down, glanced at the bowl of noodles waiting for him, and picked up his chopsticks.
He stirred the noodles casually before taking a bite.
Sora watched him for a moment.
So he came.
She had expected him to avoid her after what happened.
But apparently, he hadn’t.
That was... good.
At least he hadn’t completely rejected the idea of their date.
However, something else was strange.
Usually, whenever Sora prepared food, everyone ate enthusiastically.
Today, the atmosphere was unusually quiet.
The noodles were delicious.
Even Sora knew that.
Yet the others seemed to have lost some of their appetite.
Their attention was obviously elsewhere.
They were thinking about Ryan.
They were thinking about the date.
They were thinking about what might happen between Sora and Ryan.
Sora sighed inwardly.
They’re all overthinking this.
She continued eating.
Just as the atmosphere was becoming awkward, Mark suddenly appeared carrying something over his shoulder.
"Kaelira!"
Everyone looked up.
Mark walked toward her and called,
"This is for you!"
Sora turned.
Then she froze.
A small pig, already butchered and prepared, was hanging over Mark’s shoulder.
Sora blinked.
"A pig?"
Mark nodded.
Sora looked at the animal, then at Mark.
"What a good day. Why are you suddenly bringing me this?"
Mark rarely brought her gifts.
So this unexpected delivery naturally surprised her.
Mark rubbed his nose awkwardly.
"It’s not from me."
Sora raised an eyebrow.
"Then who sent it?"
"Nick Wilde."
Sora paused.
"Who?"
Mark stared at her.
"Nick Wilde."
Sora’s expression remained blank.
She genuinely didn’t recognize the name.
Mark was speechless.
His brother had gone out of his way to hunt a pig and send it to Sora.
He had even insisted that Mark deliver it himself.
Nick Wilde had told him that if Mark didn’t deliver the pig, then he wasn’t a good brother.
So Mark had been forced to carry the entire thing here.
And now...
Sora didn’t even know who Nick Wilde was.
Mark suddenly felt that his brother was working incredibly hard for nothing.
He looked at Sora from head to toe.
She had already lost quite a bit of weight.
But if she ate this entire pig, wouldn’t she gain it all back?
Mark sighed.
"He’s the youngest and strongest fourth-level beastman of the fox Clan."
Sora’s eyes widened slightly.
"Oh."
She finally understood.
"So he’s famous?"
Mark nodded.
"You don’t know him?"
Sora shook her head.
"I should probably meet him."
Then she looked at the pig.
"He must be quite generous."
Mark’s mouth opened.
He had been about to say something else.
Perhaps he could have told her that Nick Wilde was handsome.
Perhaps he could have hinted that his brother seemed interested in her.
But then Mark glanced around.
There were six exceptionally handsome beastmen sitting nearby.
Xavier.
Ace.
Lukan.
Lucas.
Ryan.
Damien.
Mark immediately closed his mouth.
What was the point?
With these six around her, Sora clearly didn’t need to know his friend.
Besides...
It might actually be better if she remained unaware.
If Nick Wilde really became interested in Sora, he might later regret it when he discovered how different she looked without her usual makeup.
Mark decided not to interfere.
"It’s nothing."
He put the pig down.
Then he turned and left.
