Sora hurriedly waved her hand.

"No need. It was only a piglet. You don’t have to keep giving me things."

Before Nick Wilde could say anything else, Ace let out a cold snort.

"It’s just a small pig. What’s there to be so attentive about?"

Nick Wilde looked at him.

Ace crossed his arms.

"If you’re going to give her something, at least give her something bigger."

Lucas also crossed his arms and looked Nick up and down.

"You’re only a level four beastman, and you already dare to have ideas about our female?"

His tone was unmistakably provocative.

Nick’s smile slowly disappeared.

Only then did he properly examine the people standing before him.

There were five of them.

Every single one was tall and exceptionally handsome.

Each possessed a presence that was difficult to ignore.

More importantly, their beast levels were all higher than his.

Nick had always been confident in himself.

Among the surrounding tribes, he was considered one of the strongest and most handsome beastmen. He had rarely encountered anyone who could make him feel inferior.

Yet today, he had unexpectedly encountered five men who surpassed him.

For a moment, surprise flashed through his eyes.

He quickly suppressed it.

Then he asked,

"Who are you?"

Xavier glanced meaningfully toward Sora.

His expression was calm, but there was something almost deliberately provocative in his eyes.

"Didn’t Kaelira tell you?"

Nick Wilde frowned.

Xavier continued.

"We’re all her beast husbands."

Sora’s expression instantly became awkward.

She looked at Xavier.

Why does he sound like he’s accusing me of deliberately hiding them?

It wasn’t her fault!

She hadn’t even known Nick was coming.

Besides, she had been standing right there the entire time.

Ace, Lucas, and the others had been the ones who stepped forward and blocked her.

Now Xavier was making it sound as though she had intentionally hidden her beast husbands from Nick so she could flirt with him.

Sora felt wronged.

They really have too little confidence in me.

What beastman would be foolish enough to fall for her?

In her current appearance, she wasn’t exactly considered beautiful by the standards of this world.

Why were these men so worried?

Nick Wilde, however, looked genuinely stunned.

His gaze slowly shifted toward Mark.

The meaning in his eyes was obvious.

You knew about this?

Mark immediately felt uncomfortable.

How was he supposed to know?

He had known Nick as his best friend and had always assumed that Nick’s interest in Sora was merely temporary.

After all, Sora’s appearance had never been considered particularly attractive.

Mark had naturally assumed that once Nick saw her true appearance and spent more time around her, his interest would disappear.

So he hadn’t thought there was any reason to explain Sora’s complicated relationship situation.

Who could have expected him to actually develop serious feelings for her?

Now Mark was caught in the middle.

Nick’s expression seemed to ask why he had never mentioned the five beast husbands.

Mark could only feel embarrassed.

He had never imagined that his friend would genuinely fall for Sora.

In his mind, Nick had simply been fascinated by the mysterious female who had somehow changed the lives of the tribe.

But apparently, it was more serious than that.

Mark cleared his throat.

"Nick Wilde gave Kaelira the pig. You should come out and thank him properly."

Sora’s eye twitched.

Seriously?

Was she hiding?

She had been standing right there!

It was Ace, Lucas, Xavier, and the others who had suddenly formed a wall in front of her.

Yet Mark’s words made it sound as though she were deliberately hiding behind her husbands.

Sora glared at him.

If I had known this would happen, I should have let you spend a little more time running to the bathroom.

Still, after thinking about it, she couldn’t completely deny Mark’s point.

Nick Wilde had given her a gift.

As the recipient, she should indeed thank him properly.

And from what he had just said, it seemed fairly obvious that he was interested in her.

Sora couldn’t help wondering if Nick had simply been captivated by the appearance she had created with her ability.

If that was the case, then his feelings weren’t directed toward the real her.

That realization made her feel slightly complicated.

Being liked was naturally a pleasant feeling.

But being liked because someone had fallen for a false appearance was different.

Moreover, Sora already had enough on her hands.

She was currently dealing with five beast husbands.

She had absolutely no desire to add another complication.

With that thought, she finally stepped out from behind the wall formed by the five men.

The moment she appeared, Ace, Lucas, and Xavier all turned their eyes toward her.

Their gazes were so intense that Sora almost felt as though they were trying to burn a hole through her.

She blinked.

"What?"

None of them answered.

Ace merely looked at her with narrowed eyes.

Lucas’s expression was equally displeased.

Xavier remained silent, but his gaze carried a warning.

Even Ryan, who had been standing slightly farther away, was watching the situation carefully.

Sora sighed inwardly.

They’re jealous again.

She turned her attention toward Nick.

"I’m sorry about that."

Nick’s fox ears twitched.

His eyes immediately softened.

"You don’t have to apologize."

He looked at her for a moment before smiling.

"I only wanted to know whether you liked the pig."

"I did."

Sora gave him an honest answer.

"It was delicious."

Nick’s smile widened.

"Then I’ll hunt another one for you."

Sora immediately shook her head.

"Really, there’s no need."

"I don’t mind."

"But I do."

Nick Wilde paused.

Sora looked at him seriously.

"You don’t need to keep giving me gifts just because I liked one thing."

There was nothing cruel in her voice.

She simply wanted to make her position clear.

Nick studied her quietly.

Then, surprisingly, he nodded.

"All right."

But the faint smile on his face made Sora suspicious.

She had a feeling he wasn’t giving up.

Behind her, Lucas snorted.

Ace’s expression became even colder.

Xavier’s eyes narrowed.

Ryan’s silver-blue tail shifted slightly behind him.

The atmosphere once again became tense.

Sora rubbed her forehead.

Why does everything always turn into a competition with these men?

She had only wanted to solve the poisoning incident.

Then there had been the roasted pig.

Then Ryan.

And now a fox had appeared.

The situation was becoming increasingly complicated.

Before anyone could say anything else, a weak groan came from one of the nearby beastmen.

Sora’s expression immediately changed.

She turned away from the men.

"Enough. We still have poisoned people to take care of."

Her voice was firm.

The five beastmen instantly became serious.

Whatever jealousy they had felt could wait.

The tribe’s safety came first.

Nick also looked toward the sick beastmen.

His expression became solemn.

Sora crouched beside another recovering tribe member and began checking their condition.

Behind her, the beastmen exchanged silent glances.

But one thing was already clear.

Nick had entered the picture.

And judging from the way he looked at Sora, he had no intention of leaving quietly.
