Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2491: I Taught Her—Any Objections?

As they played, Jasmine Yale let go, laughing freely with the people at the table.

"Jasmine, you’re not playing that right. You should drop a small card and let me take over," said the player across from her.

"Really? Like this?" Jasmine replied.

Will Caddel chimed in, "I taught her that. Any objections? If so, they’re overruled."

"No objections, CEO Caddel is amazing, CEO Caddel is wise, CEO Caddel plays cards really well."

Jasmine burst out laughing.

Will placed a good amount of money on her table, "If you win, it’s yours. If you lose, it’s on me. Play however you want."

"If I win, let’s go get a late-night snack. If I lose..." Jasmine pondered. If she lost, she’d feel bad for Will.

"Jasmine, why so little faith in CEO Caddel? Whenever CEO Caddel plays cards with us, has he ever lost? Young lady, keep your eyes open and learn more from CEO Caddel."

Jasmine thought Will Caddel was a smart guy. Smart people, whether playing cards or doing business, are formidable.

Especially their group of finance majors, who understood calculation, stakes, and strategy well.

After a few hands, Jasmine had already amassed a pile of money in front of her.

Several times, her moves would differ from Will’s suggestions. Following Will’s advice always resulted in a win, while deciding for herself led to loss.

Vaguely, she remembered past card games she had played.

The light shone on Jasmine’s face, and perhaps due to drinking too much, her face was flushed, her mood particularly high.

Will sometimes instructed her on playing, sometimes just stood by and smiled without speaking.

He poured her a glass of lemonade, "It’s pretty warm in the booth, drink some water."

"Thank you, CEO Caddel."

"No need to be so formal, we’ve been playing all night, no need for such courtesies."

Jasmine gradually got the hang of it, playing better and better. Sometimes, even without Will’s guidance, she could win money.

She was in an exceptionally good mood, completely focused on the cards, delving into strategies to play and win.

The booth was filled with noise and chatter; a few people had drunk too much and returned to the hotel, but most lingered, with the Little Princesses playing through the night.

The sky slowly brightened.

Jasmine couldn’t remember the last time she had played through the night like this.

She didn’t feel tired though.

In the glow of dawn, someone yawned and called out, "It’s six o’clock, the sun’s about to rise, we should wrap up."

People at the table, still full of energy, upon hearing this, checked their watches.

Indeed, it was already six o’clock.

Jasmine also looked at Will in surprise, "Is it six already? Time really flew by."

"Yeah, it did," Will looked up at everyone, "How about we call it a night and gather again next time?"

"CEO Caddel, you win money and then say to wrap it up, that’s not fair."

"I don’t mind, if you want to continue, we can. I don’t mind winning a bit more," Will smirked.

"No, no, I’ve already lost over twenty grand tonight," complained a middle-aged man, feeling both regretful and frustrated.

Even though they weren’t playing with big stakes, persistent losses could still add up.

"Then let’s call it a night and get together another day," Will stated.

"Alright, we’ll go along with what CEO Caddel says, let’s wrap it up. Tonight was fun, and CEO Caddel was very gracious. Next time, we’ll have to treat CEO Caddel to a few drinks."

"I’m up for that anytime," Will responded humbly.

Jasmine stretched and finished off her glass of lemonade.

Despite being indoors, and unable to see the morning light, it still felt like darkness, with dazzling lights, mysterious and surreal, the table littered with leftover snacks and opened beer bottles.
