Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2543: Already Married in a Low-Key MannerAugust, the summer air is thick.
That evening, Jasmine Yale held Little Clementine at the window to watch fireflies.
The ecological environment of this neighborhood is good, you can see stars, and you can see fireflies.
Little Clementine liked these twinkling little creatures, reaching out her small hand through the window. The fireflies flew around, and Little Clementine’s eyes followed them around.
"Little Devil, do you like them? Are they pretty?" Jasmine Yale affectionately held her daughter.
Little Clementine clapped and laughed, a big grin on her face.
"If you like them, I’ll hold you a little longer to watch, I like them too."
The night breeze blew in through the window, lifting Jasmine Yale’s freshly washed long hair, bringing a refreshing scent.
Little Clementine squirmed in Jasmine Yale’s arms and sometimes grabbed Jasmine’s hair with her small hands; she seemed to love the fragrance of shampoo.
Jasmine Yale’s eyes were filled with a gentle smile; she cherished this moment, so tender, without stormy weather, just bright and clear.
The fireflies in the sky danced with the wind, like exquisite little fairies.
The night breeze blew into Jasmine Yale’s pajama collar, feeling very comfortable.
"Miss Yale, let’s go downstairs for a walk; there are many people walking down there." Butler Santana came in.
"Sure, Little Clementine has been looking outside all the time!"
The weather wasn’t cold, it was just right for an evening walk.
So Jasmine Yale and Butler Santana went together, carrying Little Clementine along the path in the neighborhood.
There were indeed many people downstairs, Little Clementine liked the older kids, grinning whenever she saw them.
When Jasmine’s arms grew tired, she would hand Little Clementine over to Butler Santana.
There were many children in the community about the same age as Little Clementine; sometimes, Jasmine Yale would glance at other families walking together, her expression slightly distant.
Butler Santana noticed too, holding Little Clementine and whispering, "Miss Yale, you’ve been working for several months now, have you met anyone suitable?"
Jasmine Yale shook her head, "Work is too busy, haven’t met anyone suitable."
Butler Santana didn’t know what to say.
It takes a very long time to completely forget someone.
"Miss Yale, I read in the newspaper, that woman named Erin Janus is pregnant... Wasn’t there news about her having a quiet wedding some time ago."
"Hmm, it’s his child."
Butler Santana felt little emotional stirrings, she had guessed it was Mr. Cheney’s child.
Butler Santana had been with Sylvan Cheney for many years, she knew most men in wealthy families change women like changing clothes.
In her eyes, Mr. Cheney was already quite sentimental, but still couldn’t escape the norm.
Years ago, he had Mr. Chale Cheney with another woman, later had Little Clementine with Jasmine Yale, and now... a child with Erin Janus was about to be born.
She, a servant, couldn’t meddle in affairs between the masters.
"Miss Yale, it’s okay, you’ll surely find someone who loves you and Little Clementine dearly in the future, and things will get better."
"Butler Santana, I’m sorry for dragging you along with me all the time."
"What are you apologizing for, I’m a lone person, it’s really nice being with you, and besides, I love Little Clementine a lot." Butler Santana chatted casually with Jasmine Yale, "Have you seen Mr. Cheney again recently?"
"No."
"Oh, right, that woman named Erin Janus is due soon, right."
"Two or three more months probably, I’m not really sure."
Butler Santana didn’t ask again and accompanied Jasmine Yale along the quiet neighborhood paths.
Little Clementine was very cheerful, completely different from the adults, laughing especially happily.
