Jasmine Yale hesitated for a moment.
Justin Usama added, "The premiere is in the afternoon, not the evening. Shall I come pick you up then?"
Jasmine Yale nodded, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me, it’s just doing a favor." Justin took his briefcase, "Come on, I’ll walk you to the neighborhood."
It was a relaxing afternoon chat. Jasmine Yale hadn’t had such a conversation with a stranger in a long time. She had a good impression of Justin Usama, and his family wasn’t complicated.
She wasn’t very good at handling complex relationships. She hoped to find someone simple, someone who wouldn’t keep everything to themselves, someone who would share their thoughts and feelings with her, rather than making her guess and speculate.
If he encountered trouble, she could help share his burden. If he was successful, she could celebrate with him.
That would be nice.
Justin Usama escorted Jasmine Yale all the way downstairs.
Only after Jasmine Yale went upstairs did he leave.
Little Clementine was sitting in her crib playing with her little rabbit. She liked to grab the rabbit’s ears and liked to pounce on it and kiss it.
"Miss Yale, did you meet Mr. Usama?" asked Butler Santana who was beside her.
"Yes, I met him. He’s quite a nice person."
"Are you interested? I heard he has a good personality."
"He invited me to a movie premiere next Sunday."
"That’s great, are you going?"
"I’ll go and have a look."
"Good, good." Butler Santana seemed pleased. She just hoped Jasmine Yale could be happy. Who she was with wasn’t important, as long as they were good to her and Little Clementine.
"I’ll go to the kitchen to make a fruit salad, Butler Santana. We’ll make lemon fish for dinner tonight."
"Sure, I can make that."
"Then I’ll learn from you. When I have free time at home, I’ll try cooking and see if I can improve my skills."
"I can handle the cooking. Girls don’t need to be in the kitchen, especially since you’re so busy with work. Spend your free time with Little Clementine, she loves you very much."
"Once I learn to cook, I can let Little Clementine taste it. She’ll definitely want to try something her mom made."
Butler Santana smiled, "Little Clementine is lucky to have a mom like you."
Jasmine Yale bent down, picked up her daughter from the crib, and gave her a kiss.
Little Clementine played silently with her little rabbit in her arms, her head lowered without making a sound.
"Miss Yale, about you and Justin Usama... don’t be too hard on yourself. Spend more time with him. If you find it doesn’t work, I can keep an eye out for you. If it does, maybe try getting closer. There’s no rush."
"Yes, things like this can’t be rushed. I’ll take it to heart."
Butler Santana went out to cook while Jasmine Yale took Little Clementine to play on the balcony.
Outside, the sun was bright, the warm breeze was gentle, and the grass swayed gracefully around.
Little Clementine lay by the window gazing out with her big eyes, seemingly captivated by something...
When she got tired, Jasmine Yale placed her on her lap and let her sit while she casually flipped through the newspaper.
Kieran Janus’s Old York Headquarters financial district project was all over the pages, impossible to miss, while other financial companies were relatively low-profile.
Jasmine Yale had never met Kieran Janus, but she guessed he was probably a high-profile, proud person.
As she read the paper, Little Clementine grew a bit impatient and kept moving around.
Jasmine Yale had no choice but to pick her up and continue walking.
As they walked, Little Clementine seemed to spot something. Her little hand stretched out towards the direction of the bookshelf, her arm reaching as far as it could, her big eyes shimmering with excitement!
