Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2547: Not Smiling Much, Not Crying Much EitherThe room was filled with a pleasant aroma, the atmosphere relaxed, and Jasmine Yale felt neither oppressed nor restrained.
Justin Usama was quite an interesting person, well-mannered, polite, and his behavior was not abrupt.
"Miss Yale looks very young, doesn’t seem like you’ve had children, more like a college student," Justin Usama said. "How is life going now?"
"It’s pretty good, with my daughter, I’m satisfied with everything."
"Seems like your work and life revolve around your daughter? Haven’t thought much for yourself?"
"Maybe this is how it feels to be a mother. I wasn’t like this before; I used to be quite willful," Jasmine Yale reflected. "But people will always evolve, and I’m quite content with my current situation—fulfilled, busy, happy. If I could have a warm home, that would be even better."
She wants to give Little Clementine a complete, warm family, not one that is filled with arguments and indifference.
She wants to give her a home before Little Clementine is old enough to remember.
"Yes, I’ve been in UT for many years and been divorced, but deep down, I long for a warm home too, a place where there is always a light on when I come home at night."
Jasmine Yale nodded, her gaze unfocused...
That’s all she wants too.
In such a big world, surely someone will give it to her.
They chatted casually for a little while longer.
The dessert in front of them was mostly gone, and after Jasmine Yale had a cup of coffee, she felt much more at ease.
There wasn’t much awkwardness during the date; she and Justin Usama had a good rapport, perhaps because their personalities and views were quite similar.
Justin Usama also shared some fun travel stories with her, and Jasmine Yale listened, resting her head in her hand like a school kid, engrossed, sometimes bursting into laughter.
Whenever she laughed, Justin Usama would stare at her for quite a while.
He said with feeling, "Miss Yale, your smile is lovely, you should smile more often."
Jasmine Yale was taken aback, then laughed, "Smiling too much gives you wrinkles and makes you look silly."
"Not at all, you look beautiful when you smile, really." Justin Usama was a bit embarrassed, fearing Jasmine Yale didn’t believe him.
"Alright, I’ll smile more often."
Jasmine Yale had heard more than one person say her smile was lovely. Unfortunately, she hadn’t smiled that much these past years. In truth, she loved to smile a lot back then, and cry a lot too.
These past years, neither smiling nor crying much, just moving through the city like a mature adult, numb.
Justin Usama talked with Jasmine Yale for a long time, he felt quite fond of her and even added her on WeChat.
After chatting for about two hours, Jasmine Yale finally stood up, "Mr. Usama, shall we leave for today?"
"Alright," Justin Usama stood up readily as well, "Hope to see you another time; I wish for the chance."
Jasmine Yale smiled softly, "If there’s a chance, then we shall meet."
"Would you like me to take you home? I heard you live not far from here."
"I live nearby, I can go back by myself, Mr. Usama, you’re busy."
"I’m not busy today, I’m on holiday, I’ll drive you home. Next Sunday... will you be free? I happen to have two invitations for the Hollywood premiere of ’Believe Me,’ and I’m troubled finding someone to go with."
"Tickets for the premiere? I heard they’re hard to get; I’ve never been to a premiere."
"Yes, our company chairman gave them to me. I heard many Hollywood stars will be there for the premiere. Interested? If you are, I’ll come by to pick you up tomorrow."
