Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2546: A Feeling Like We Met Too LateThe man laughed quite happily, seemingly enjoying the topic of children.
Although Jasmine Yale hasn’t met countless people, she does know quite a few, and she could tell from his eyes that he genuinely liked children.
That kind of gaze is unmistakable, with a sparkling gleam in his eyes.
Jasmine Yale smiled, "My daughter... she’s a bit naughty, not easy to manage."
"If there’s a chance, you can leave her to me," Justin Usama said with a smile.
Before Jasmine could speak, the waiter brought in the coffee and dessert and closed the door of the private room for them.
The private room was pleasantly cool, and the atmosphere was calm and soothing.
As soon as the coffee was served, it gave off a sweet aroma, and the dessert Justin ordered looked inviting too.
"I didn’t know you didn’t like desserts. This blueberry cheesecake is their specialty here, I ordered one for you to try," Justin pushed the dessert in front of her.
"Thank you, it looks wonderful."
"Do you like coffee? I quite like it. I’ve been in UT for ten years, and my lifestyle has already aligned with here. Oh, I forgot to tell you about my family. My parents are both civil servants, they’re semi-retired and will come to the UT a year or two after full retirement."
Jasmine Yale nodded.
A decent family background made her feel a bit inferior.
She took a sip of her coffee and said quietly, "My family... my parents were separated when I was young. I lived with my mother, and when I was eight, my mother passed away, and I was adopted. Now, I’ve found my biological father."
"Sounds like there’s a story there."
"It’s nothing, all in the past now. I live very simply, just me and my daughter, nothing too complicated."
"You’re quite special," Justin Usama looked at Jasmine Yale, "whether in the way you talk or your personality, or your insight, you’re different from others. Easy to get along with, but not easy to get close to, right?"
Jasmine Yale was initially taken aback, then she laughed.
"Your intuitive sense is quite precise for a science major."
"Science major, logical thinking tends to be meticulous and can infer things," he laughed as well.
The atmosphere in the private room was light and lively for a while.
Coupled with it being daytime, it didn’t have the oppressive feeling of night, instead making one feel at ease.
Jasmine Yale thought, the last time she went on a date was four years ago... Justin Usama was quite an interesting person.
"Miss Yale, my parents are easy-going. They won’t live with me when they come to the UT. Rest assured, they’re quite forward-thinking, not conservative at all," Justin said, "My first impression of Miss Yale is very good, a feeling of regret at not meeting sooner."
"I’m not that great, maybe because we’re not familiar yet. Once you get to know me, you’ll find that I’m actually quite stubborn, occasionally a bit proud, not that confident... in short, I have many flaws you might not be able to tolerate."
"Everyone has flaws; whether they can be tolerated needs time to tell. Don’t you think?"
Jasmine Yale nodded, "You’re right."
Jasmine Yale felt he was a reasonable person, spoke with tact, and had quite a high emotional intelligence.
Dealing with someone with high emotional intelligence wasn’t tiring.
"I have flaws too, and not just one or two. Look, I’m not that handsome, which counts as a pretty big flaw."
Jasmine Yale laughed, "As long as you’re comfortable, that’s what’s important."
She didn’t expect Justin Usama to be quite good at joking.
She took another sip of coffee and tried the cheesecake in front of her.
