Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2568: Birthdays Come Every Year

Upon arriving in Old York, Will Caddel took Jasmine Yale to the conference center.

The organizers showcased some developments and achievements in the securities industry over the past few months to each guest and sincerely reached out to every group representative, looking forward to collaboration.

Will Caddel moved around with Jasmine Yale, watched videos, viewed the exhibition, and chatted with several industry managers.

He casually flipped through the booklet handed out by the organizers, quietly reading with his head down.

When he wasn’t speaking, Jasmine would converse with the organizers, gathering some basic information and jotting it down in her notebook.

Will Caddel occasionally glanced at his watch.

The venue was crowded; it was a mid-sized tender conference.

Around four or five in the afternoon, he stood up voluntarily, taking Jasmine’s briefcase: "Let’s go find a place to have dinner."

"Huh?" Jasmine, still typing away, was surprised, "Leaving already? It’s not over yet."

Just as she finished speaking, Will Caddel was already shaking hands with the organizers: "Secretary Yale and I have other matters; we’ll leave first, sorry."

Quickly, Jasmine packed up her laptop, grabbed her bag, and followed Will out.

The conference center was still bustling with people.

Jasmine was in business attire: a white blouse, black pencil skirt, and black high heels.

The heels were quite high, and she struggled to keep up with Will.

Will stopped, extended his hand: "Give me the bag, I’ll carry it."

Jasmine handed it over: "Thank you, CEO Caddel."

"No need for thanks."

He slowed his pace, and Jasmine, walking beside him, curiously asked: "CEO Caddel, the conference isn’t over... Are you dissatisfied with it?"

"It’s not dissatisfaction; it’s the lack of sincerity from the organizers. I originally thought they were extending invitations to a select few financial companies. I didn’t expect so many companies would be here. What are they trying to signal? Are they truly seeking partners? What do you think?"

Jasmine pondered and realized it made sense.

There were too many companies invited, even newly founded small companies.

"I think you have a point, CEO Caddel. It’s okay; we’ll be in Old York for a few more days, and there are several companies to observe tomorrow."

"Mm."

"But CEO Caddel, it’s only ten past five; isn’t it too early for dinner?"

"Are you sure you want to go out to dinner dressed like this? Let’s head back to the hotel to change, and remember to bring a jacket; it gets cool in the evening."

"Got it."

Will drove himself.

Jasmine could tell that Will was very dissatisfied with today’s exhibition, hoping tomorrow would be better.

However, Will didn’t show any emotions; his face was calm and undisturbed.

Although there wasn’t much noteworthy about this exhibition, there were some useful things. Jasmine sat in the passenger seat, writing notes with her head down.

During a red light, Will turned his head and looked at her: "Taking notes without a word?"

"Huh?" Jasmine looked up, "Are you talking about me, CEO Caddel?"

"Is there anyone else in the car?"

"I... I just thought I’d catch up on notes before reaching the hotel. I’m afraid I’ll forget them by tomorrow."

"It’s your birthday today, don’t you have anything to say?"

"Birthdays happen every year; I don’t particularly value them."

"Then how have you spent your birthdays since childhood?"
