Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2569: Only Regret Remains

"Didn’t really care much." Jasmine Yale chuckled, "I’ve never really valued these things much, nothing too special."

"What about when you were ten or twenty? Didn’t value them either?"

Jasmine Yale’s lips moved but she didn’t speak.

Some nerve was inadvertently touched by Will Caddel’s words; her twentieth birthday... she had cared very much, but now, all that remains is regret.

"CEO Caddel, do you host a birthday party every year?"

"I’m not someone who likes lively events very much. Much like you, I don’t really care about birthdays, never had one."

"Really? Then we’re quite similar." Jasmine Yale switched topics again, "CEO Caddel, should we pass on this company today? I feel there’s nothing really worth striving for."

"Sure, let’s pass."

Will Caddel drove Jasmine Yale to the hotel.

In the suite, Jasmine Yale rummaged through the clothes in the wardrobe. Since it was a work trip, she hadn’t brought many pretty clothes, mostly professional attire.

She had to pick a relatively less formal dress, a light white floral dress with little yellow flowers on it. She pinned up her hair, changed into pearl stud earrings, and put on a pair of white flat shoes.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Jasmine Yale felt quite satisfied.

Will Caddel also changed into a relatively casual blue suit and walked out of the hotel with her.

"Where do you want to eat? Downtown shopping area or Chinatown? What do you want to eat?" Will Caddel asked her several questions in a row.

Jasmine Yale thought for a moment, "Let’s have sauerkraut fish? I haven’t had it for a long, long time. I know CEO Caddel doesn’t mind sour and spicy food and isn’t picky."

As Will Caddel’s secretary, she must be well aware of her boss’s lifestyle habits.

"Are you sure you want such a strong flavor for your birthday?"

"Yeah, let’s give it a try and see if the sauerkraut fish here in Chinatown is better or in Cakago."

"If the one here is better, what do you plan to do?"

"If the one here is better, then when CEO Caddel comes to Old York for business trips, can you bring me a portion?" Jasmine joked.

"Today is your birthday, any request you make, I’ll fulfill."

Jasmine Yale laughed, the bright lights outside the hotel just happened to shine on her fair face, in the wind, she looked graceful, gentle, with what seemed like a bright glow in her eyes.

"Let’s go." Will Caddel led her to the parking lot, "I’ll buy you a cake when we pass by a cake shop later."

"No..."

"Don’t refuse." Will Caddel didn’t give her a chance to refuse.

The sky hadn’t completely darkened, there was still a trace of light on the horizon that couldn’t be swallowed by darkness, but the whole city had already lit streetlights, with vehicles coming and going, flowing endlessly.

Will Caddel kept his word.

Halfway through the drive, he got out of the car, went to a cake shop, bought a cake, and also bought a bouquet of lily of the valley.

As soon as he got back in, the car was filled with a very pleasant fragrance.

He placed the flowers in her arms: "Hold this, it matches your outfit quite well."

"Thank you, CEO Caddel."

"What are you thanking me for?" he slightly furrowed his brows.

Chinatown had long been decorated with lights, brightly lit, crowded with people, where one could easily bump into others.

Indeed, there were many traditional events on both sides of the street, stilt walking, lantern displays, sleeve dances, operas... all quite interesting, with a strong Qixi festival atmosphere.

Jasmine Yale and Will Caddel walked among the crowd, looking around.
