The bidding meeting lasted an entire day.
In the evening, the organizers prepared a wine dinner.
Will Caddel packed up his things and looked at Jasmine Yale, "Interested in attending the wine dinner? If not, I’ll take you out for dinner."
"Let’s attend. If we don’t, it might not be easy to secure this case."
"Actually, there’s no need to care about every result, because you’ll win some and lose some; it’s impossible to win them all."
"But CEO Caddel, although this bid doesn’t bring a substantial profit, the subsequent profits are very stable. I think it’s quite worthwhile."
"Is that what you think?"
"Yes, that’s what I think. What do you think, CEO Caddel?"
He smiled, "Then let’s attend."
Jasmine Yale went back to her hotel to change into a goose-yellow strapless cocktail dress. Her hair was pinned up elegantly, fresh and poised, like a blooming forsythia in spring, exuding an air of natural charm.
Will Caddel changed into a deep blue suit, paired with a striped tie, and entered the venue together with Jasmine Yale.
This small-scale dinner was not overly luxurious, but it was very relaxing and free from many constraints.
Jasmine Yale entered the room arm in arm with Will Caddel, greeting clients and colleagues.
"Jasmine, do you know how to dance? I haven’t asked you for a dance before."
Jasmine Yale shook her head, "I can’t dance."
"Shall I teach you?"
"Better not; it’d be embarrassing to make a fool of myself here," she whispered.
"Just follow my lead. How could you make a fool of yourself? What, don’t you trust me as your teacher?"
Jasmine Yale hesitated. Of course, she trusted Will Caddel. She thought for a moment and agreed, "Then I’ll give it a try."
She hadn’t tried in all these years.
With Will Caddel as her teacher, she felt reassured, as Will Caddel was very patient and seemed capable of undertaking anything.
There were many people dancing on the dance floor, most of whom were beautiful women in colorful evening gowns. Jasmine Yale actually envied them a lot, as they danced so well, unlike her, who knew nothing.
Halfway through the dinner, Will Caddel extended his hand to her, "Miss Yale, may I have the honor of this dance?"
Jasmine Yale smiled and extended her hand, "I’d love to."
It was her first time dancing in front of so many people, and she virtually had no foundation at all.
Will Caddel danced slowly, teaching her bit by bit, from the steps to the gestures, then the angles.
Several times, Jasmine Yale clumsily stepped on his leather shoes, yet he only laughed and remained particularly enthusiastic.
Under the lights, Jasmine Yale’s cheeks flushed like peach blossoms, her eyes glittered like stars, and when she smiled, she revealed two shallow dimples and pearly white teeth, graceful and elegant.
It was Will Caddel’s first time seeing her up close, so close that he could see her eyelashes clearly.
Will Caddel was exceptionally patient, whereas Jasmine Yale felt a bit embarrassed herself. She whispered, "CEO Caddel, I’m really bad at this. Maybe I should stop. I have no talent and am very clumsy."
"You don’t need any talent, just learn well by following me."
"But a lot of people are watching."
"Don’t worry, not that many people are watching."
Jasmine Yale’s face flushed red and white, still occasionally stepping on Will Caddel’s foot.
However, Will Caddel was much more patient than she imagined, teaching her step by step, over and over again.
Gradually, she danced better and was able to keep up with the rhythm. Although she was still clumsy, she didn’t make any major mistakes.
After dancing for a while, Will Caddel led her off the dance floor.
