Little Clementine reached out her small hand, wanting to touch Jasmine Yale’s face.
But, she couldn’t reach it.
She anxiously waved her little hand, grabbing at the air.
Butler Santana quickly handed her a rabbit toy.
"Be good, Mommy will be home tomorrow. Come on, give me a smile, okay?" Jasmine Yale smiled happily.
Perhaps it was because her mood suddenly improved, Jasmine leaned against the wall, making many funny faces with Little Clementine, which made the little one on the other end giggle nonstop, revealing her cute little milk teeth.
Jasmine was so engrossed that she didn’t notice a hand reaching over to take her phone away until then.
"You..." She looked up, and it was Sylvan Cheney.
Sylvan Cheney held Jasmine Yale’s phone, his gaze fixed on Little Clementine’s face in the video, staring intently without moving, his lips tightly pressed, showing no expression.
Perhaps his expression was too serious, Little Clementine nestled into Butler Santana’s arms, turning her back on Sylvan Cheney, refusing to look back.
Sylvan Cheney frowned, displeased.
"Why do you casually take my phone? You have no manners!" Jasmine Yale snatched her phone back.
On the other end, Little Clementine refused to turn back no matter what.
Jasmine anxiously coaxed, "Little Clementine, be good, say goodbye to Mommy, okay? Little Clementine, Little Clementine..."
No matter how Jasmine called, she just stuck out her little bottom, refusing to turn her head.
Jasmine had no choice but to say to Butler Santana, "Butler Santana, cut the video, see you tomorrow."
"Alright."
As she was about to turn off the video, Sylvan Cheney stared at the screen for a long time.
Jasmine Yale lowered her head, put away her phone, ignoring everyone around, ready to leave.
"She’s teething now." Sylvan Cheney finally managed to say a few words.
Jasmine didn’t respond.
"She didn’t smile at me today, maybe because I didn’t bring candy."
"Sylvan Cheney!" She didn’t want to hear him mention Little Clementine, not at all. She glared at him, her eyes sharp and cold, "She has nothing to do with you."
"I never said she did." Sylvan Cheney looked at her, hands in his pockets, with a lazy and relaxed expression, "You don’t have to be in such a rush to distance yourself from me."
"Your own daughter will be born soon, so I hope you don’t look at Little Clementine anymore. You also swore to me before that you wouldn’t see Little Clementine again."
"You’re right." He looked into her eyes, staring intently.
"Evan, is she clinging to you again?" Erin Janus walked out from the direction of the bathroom with a swollen belly, linking arms with Sylvan Cheney, looking at Jasmine Yale with hostility.
"Are you ready to go home?" Sylvan Cheney looked at Erin Janus.
"Yeah, it’s time to go, it’s getting late, and this place isn’t fun at all. With my big belly, what can I do here, can’t drink, can’t dance. I might as well go home early and rest, and when we get home, you can play a piano song for Little Sweetie."
"I still have a contract to discuss with CEO Zaila."
"A contract? You men are troublesome, discussing contracts so late, really." Erin Janus complained, "Forget it, I’ll stay with you, you go discuss."
"You go ahead."
Jasmine Yale didn’t want to listen to them flirting, and she certainly didn’t want to know what they were going to do at night.
She picked up her wine glass from the window ledge, ready to leave.
Just as she brushed past Erin Janus, Erin smiled, raised her hand, and pushed Jasmine Yale with her elbow!
Jasmine was caught off guard!
"Crash" — the glass in her hand fell to the ground!
