Gigi:

"What do you want me to do?" Theodore asked with a smile.

I pouted, tapping my foot against the ground like a child.

"I want to prank Jenna, and I need your help," I pleaded, pouting again.

"She pranked me so well the other day that she almost made my heart stop," I complained playfully, once again pulling my lips into a pout.

Theodore kept looking at me, and whenever I acted like that, the way he smiled gave me the impression that he liked seeing me act bratty.

So that was exactly what I did.

I had no problem acting like a brat.

Anything that made him think I was cute.

"Okay, well, that’s not a good thing. I wouldn’t want anyone to make your heart stop," he replied, his possessive side showing in the most playful way.

"Well then, I’ll need your help getting back at her," I said, snapping my fingers.

We were sitting on the balcony outside his bedroom.

Every time I was in his room, I felt weird, like the bed was calling to us.

I would always glance at it and whisper to myself, ’Soon. It’ll happen soon.’

I was going to put an end to the loneliness of his bed.

"I’m really not surprised you’re getting along with her," Theodore remarked with a laugh, making me tilt my head and stick out my tongue.

I remembered what Jenna had told me.

Theodore had taken her to the kitchen.

What she told me reminded me of his journal entries.

There had been one incident where he had been under some weirdo’s gown.

Now he wanted to recreate it.

The problem was that he was looking at all the wrong options.

The right option was sitting right in front of him.

Once he got under my gown, he would realize I was better than whatever memory he was holding on to.

He just had to trust me.

I guessed he was scared because of his brother and what he would think of him.

But once he dared to do something with me, we’d make everything right together.

"Okay, I want you to tell Jenna that you’re going to a masquerade party. You’ll be wearing masks and long black coats. And it’s this dark party where everyone dances with beautiful women."

I watched Theodore frown in confusion.

"What would that do?" he asked.

"I want you to tell her that you go every Saturday night, like tonight."

I laughed to myself as I watched him shake his head at me, as though he couldn’t believe how goofy I was.

I liked seeing the admiration in his eyes.

"Then I’ll say that I’m headed there too, and I’ll invite her. I’ll give her a mask and everything."

I laughed to myself.

"I’ll take her to a fucking council praying house."

I laughed so hard that Theodore slapped his forehead.

"You are so adorable. That’s such a goofy little prank, but it’s harmless," he chuckled.

What did he know about harmless?

That was exactly what this prank wasn’t going to be.

"So, please, will you do that?" I asked.

"Yeah, but listen. How about, instead of taking her out of the mansion, you just let her dress up and then tell her right here that it was a prank? What do you think?" he suggested.

The way he said it made me realize he was looking out for her.

I smiled through clenched teeth, realizing I had been right to hurry.

Things were not looking good.

I mean, of course, any man with a free woman constantly dancing around him would get a little excited.

And Jenna was doing exactly that, always wandering around Theodore and hovering near him.

"Done," I said, giving him a thumbs-up.

"Okay, well, then I’ll just have to talk about the evening and everything," Theodore replied, getting to his feet and straightening his shirt.

His shirt had ridden up a little when he stretched in his seat, revealing his abs.

I couldn’t help staring for a little too long.

Now he was up and away from me.

I rose from my seat and stepped back into his room.

Oh.

His scent and his neatly made bed seemed to invite us to get tangled in the sheets.

"Huh?"

I mentally shook myself out of those dirty thoughts after staring at the bed for far too long.

"Is everything okay?" Theodore asked, his eyes drifting toward the bed.

"No, I was just looking at the bedsheets. They’re really pretty."

I had to come up with something believable.

I didn’t want to come across as someone so dirty-minded.

He needed to be the dirty-minded one, while I was supposed to be the innocent, shy one who always said, ’No, not here. Not right now,’ and things like that.

"I want this plan to work. It will be funny dressing her up like a funny character before telling her the truth," I said, pulling a black mask out of my bag.

"I want you to hold this in your hand while you’re talking to her so she knows we aren’t just making things up," I explained, watching him stare at the mask.

"Sure," he agreed with a shrug.

"Put it on the side table," he added, gesturing toward it.

I walked over, placed the mask on the side table, and then left the room.

This plan was going to work.

And tonight was the night of the full moon.

It was going to do wonders.

I had spent the last few days of Ragnar’s absence trying to convince Jenna that Theodore had feelings for her and was just a little too shy to show them.

When I walked out, just as I had expected, Jenna had already come out of her room after making sure Lady Lucille was taking a nap.

That old woman needed to sleep a little longer so the people around her could live a normal life that didn’t include her pestering them every few seconds.

Then I gave her a smile and told her to sit down.

She looked too excited, probably thinking she really had a chance with Theodore.

’Fuck her. I’m going to fucking ruin her.’
