Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 234-I’m Not A Perfect Daughter

Jenna:

This time, I didn’t fall face-first onto my bedroom floor. Someone had helped me climb into my room more safely than last time.

Crying against Verity’s chest while hugging her brought me such relief, but I knew it would only last for a little while.

Because once I was alone in my room and had shut the window, reality struck me.

No matter what I chose to call it, I knew it meant only one thing.

I had been forced into it.

I had been deceived. I had been coaxed.

I started shaking my head, grabbing fistfuls of my hair.

He had even broken my phone and hadn’t let me bring it with me.

And there was only one reason for that.

I slapped my forehead as the realization hit me.

That man had meticulously removed every piece of evidence that could be used to trace him.

I mean, he had sent me those messages while pretending to be Alpha King Theodore.

If I had shown those messages to anyone, they would have realized that I had been deceived.

But now I had nothing.

I didn’t even have any evidence.

Heck, I didn’t even have a name.

But I was going to talk to Gigi.

I was going to tell her that we needed to go back to that party because that man must have been there.

I couldn’t have been his only victim.

Then grief engulfed me.

I was so restless. My life had become a complete mess while everyone else was sleeping peacefully in their homes.

Gigi had nothing to worry about.

Neither did Verity. Their lives were perfect.

So why had this happened to me?

"Because you were desperate," my wolf hissed at me.

"We ruined everything for us. I told you I was getting a weird feeling about him."

Now that I was in trouble, my wolf had decided to play innocent.

She hadn’t told me shit.

"You were happy, Jenny," I complained internally, rubbing the back of my neck as dizziness began to wash over me.

"How can we tell anyone that we’ve been going into the woods for days and sleeping with someone we don’t even know?" my wolf protested.

I buried my face in both hands and let out a cry.

"And well, let’s not forget that someone else showed up too. Do you think that person was brought there by the masked man?"

I was finally referring to him as the masked man, not Theodore.

"Of course he was. Oh, Goddess. What have we done?" my wolf cried.

My sobs slowly subsided, but I began slapping myself until I felt like I could no longer remain on my feet.

A sudden wave of dizziness hit me.

All I could do was make it to the bed so I would have somewhere safe to fall instead of collapsing onto the hard floor.

And, just as I had expected, I passed out on my bed.

I woke up the next morning without realizing I was still wearing those filthy clothes.

I dragged myself out of bed, took them off, threw them in the bin, and rushed into the shower.

I sat under the water for hours, crying while my mother came by multiple times to knock on the door.

By the time I finally got out, my head was throbbing.

My body felt unusually hot, and I still had so much to tell the Alpha King brothers and my parents.

I just didn’t know what they would think of me.

Then I remembered there was someone willing to help me.

Verity.

She had literally told me she would help.

Maybe that was the right thing to do.

Instead of going straight to my parents, I could ask Verity to be there with me when I told them.

Or maybe I could tell her first and let her inform the Alpha King brothers.

I mean, she worked closely with them. She would know how to handle the situation.

A sudden sense of hope rose inside me.

But before I could do anything, there was a knock on the door.

"Jenna, open the door. Your friend is blowing up my phone," my mother called from outside, causing me to frown.

What friend?

I mean, I had friends, but we didn’t really talk that much.

I got up from the bed, wearing an oversized black sweater and pants, and walked over to the door.

As soon as I opened it, my mother’s eyes widened at the sight of me.

"What happened to you? Fix yourself," she complained, stepping inside and smacking the back of my head.

"I don’t feel like dressing up today," I explained as she glanced around my room and then back at me.

"There are gorgeous women in this mansion. Go outside and see how Gigi dresses. Even that secretary of theirs is a walking bombshell. And then look at yourself. How is anyone going to notice you among them if you dress like a homeless person?"

My mother smacked the back of my head again, making the throbbing pain worse.

"Mom, please stop," I pleaded, gently rubbing my scalp.

"What is up with you? What’s with all this negativity?" my mother grumbled.

I sniffled, wrapping my arms around myself.

"I don’t know. I’m not feeling well," I admitted.

Her expression immediately changed as she pressed her hand against my forehead and gasped.

"You have such a high fever," she exclaimed, grabbing my hand and pulling me over to sit on the bed.

"I’m fine. I just can’t come outside today. Please, is that okay?" I begged, watching my mother place her hands on her waist before rolling her eyes.

"Fine. I mean, it’s just— when we were your age, we never got sick," she declared with complete sincerity, like always. "I’ll get you some fruit and breakfast. In the meantime, talk to your friend. She’s been calling me, asking where you are."

She handed me her phone before walking out of the room to prepare my breakfast.

I went to the door and closed it.

Now, every little sound had started frightening me.
