Theodore:

My heart was pounding. Something had changed in me.

I kept pacing around my bedroom before finally grabbing my diary and sitting down to write.

My hands started to shake as I began writing about the encounter.

The diary was filled with encounters like this, and it had all started one day a few years ago.

I remembered that night specifically.

I had written about it, and after that, a cycle began.

I had been searching for that same feeling ever since.

But tonight was different. It felt far better than what I remembered.

It was familiar, yet more intense.

When I was in Verity’s gown, I couldn’t stop myself.

She smelled so good and so familiar.

I groaned as I wrote about it, then slammed my hand on the table.

"There is no way. I’m only noticing the similarities because I really like Verity," I told myself.

But it had felt so good.

For someone who had been searching for the same kind of pleasure, of course I was going to feel a certain way when I experienced that exact feeling again, only better.

Flashback

Years ago, I walked happily from the kitchen toward my bedroom, waiting for the woman to come to my room.

"Hey, you look upbeat," my friend remarked, making me roll my eyes at him.

"What are you guys doing in my bedroom? Come on, go. I have something important to do here," I told them.

They all had their masks off.

They had probably been drinking here and taking drugs, hiding it from Ragnar or Jaguar.

"I saw you walking around a fat piglet."

Suddenly, one of them spoke up, and I didn’t know why, but an intense urge to defend her hit me.

"Behave," I told him, rolling my eyes.

"Oh, come on. Don’t tell me you want to pick a fat one," another friend said, causing me to swallow hard. "There are so many pretty women around you, and you’re after someone who’s so fucking fat, it looks like she ate her entire family?"

As I kept listening to them, I began to grow self-conscious about my image.

"Don’t you remember how you broke up with your last girlfriend and she cursed you for falling for a fat piglet or an ugly woman? It seems like karma isn’t even hitting you. You’re literally walking right into it yourself."

They all laughed.

Then realization hit me.

How could I be thinking so deeply about a woman I had just met?

I mean, sure, she smelled good. She felt good.

She tasted good too.

But that didn’t mean I had to think of her as someone I could fall in love with.

I had an image to maintain.

A woman walking beside me shouldn’t be this overweight, nor should she be a maid serving my guests.

So I started laughing with them, watching as their laughter gradually died down.

Then I told them about my plan.

After that, I asked them to leave because, well, I had already asked her to come to my room.

Once I slept with her and had her under me, I didn’t think I would remember her.

I didn’t think I would need to keep seeing her either.

It was going to be a one-time thing.

Just a fun little adventure with the piglet.

Still laughing, I sat on the couch and waited for her.

Seconds turned into minutes, and minutes turned into hours.

She never came.

All I had left of her was her panties.

I just didn’t understand why she hadn’t come to my room.

I bet she knew I was waiting for her.

Then why hadn’t she come? Who was that woman who knew who I was, but didn’t care about my title.

I had told her we were mates, yet she still hadn’t come to my room.

End of Flashback

Once I was done writing in my diary, I chalked my obsession with that woman up to her being the one who got away.

I groaned and started pacing around my room again when a message popped up on my phone.

Cutie GG: can we please watch a movie tomorrow night, or are you too busy?"

I didn’t know why, but reading her message made me feel strange.

It felt as though, somewhere along the way, we had upset her.

Things weren’t going well. One after another, we kept making mistakes.

Why did we even need to pursue anything against Oliver?

I mean, of course, if he had bullied Verity like she claimed, I believed her because Verity wasn’t the type to lie.

But Verity had moved on. She seemed completely fine now.

As for the future, I was going to be with her. I wouldn’t want anyone to put their hands on her or touch her.

So why the heck was Ragnar becoming so overprotective of her?

Then it hit me.

Even though Verity had said that she had hurt her back, and the maid had called Ragnar to check on her, I still had a very weird feeling.

Why was Ragnar always the first one to show up wherever she was? Was he noticing her too?

I shook my head, refusing to believe it.

"He can’t do this to Gigi," I said to myself, reminding myself that Ragnar wasn’t really the type to fall for a woman.

If anything, he would fall for work. He would only cheat on Gigi with work or his workouts.

So I texted Gigi.

Me: Sure, why not? Tomorrow night, just you and me.

I replied, pouting as I remembered how we always tried to steal Gigi’s time and affection.

Deep down, I low-key wanted to stay home because now I wanted to steal Verity’s time.

"That’s impressive," my wolf chuckled.

I ignored him, put my phone down, and walked toward the bathroom.

"So your search for the gown lady is over? We’re not getting under anyone’s gown anymore, are we?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"Nope. The diary is done. I’ve found someone better than the woman from the past," I said. "Or maybe she’s better because this time, I got to, you know, taste her for longer. I got to taste her for a long time."

I stood in front of the mirror, grinning.

"And the fact that you want to steal Verity’s time now instead of Gigi’s—" he commented, referring to how obsessive Jaguar and I became whenever it came to Gigi spending time with us.

"I guess I’ll spare Gigi now. I used to bother her so much with my demands and by being so clingy. Now she can spend time with her mate while I spend time with Verity," I said.

I stretched and smiled to myself at the thought of having my own mate, especially someone as special as Verity.
