The Threelives Buddha stood there, watching this grand battle play out. He indeed found it hard to stay calm.
To Heavenly Sovereigns, everyone else was an ant. Their majesty could not be blasphemed.
This had been a universally acknowledged, ironclad rule throughout the history of the Eternal Heavens Domain. No matter how heaven-defying a Heavenly Monarch was, they couldn’t take even a single hit from a Heavenly Sovereign.
Jiang Wuchen had been the Greatest of the Unthroned, but even he was no exception.
Yet now, a sword cultivator in the early-stage Immeasurable Realm was walking an all-new path. He was using his secret power of the heart to clash with a Heavenly Sovereign.
Who could have imagined such a thing?
Admittedly, Su Yi had numerous cards up his sleeves, including the powers of a River Ancestor. That wooden sword of his was obviously an unfathomably powerful, supreme treasure, too.
Still, he was up against a Heavenly Sovereign! Had external powers been enough to overcome the gap between them and everyone else, Heavenly Sovereigns wouldn’t have been considered supreme, ruling experts in the first place.
My clone was destroyed, and now, he’s clashing with Heavenly Sovereign Wen. Doesn’t that imply that if he becomes a Heavenly Monarch, he’ll have a shot at actually defeating Heavenly Sovereigns?
The Threelives Buddha’s brow furrowed. He’d known that Su Yi was an unparalleled, unique anomaly. He’d reincarnated repeatedly, and he carried all manner of taboo treasures. You couldn’t judge someone like that by the bounds of common sense.
Still, seeing all of this firsthand would have shocked anyone.
Over on the distant battlefield, Heavenly Sovereign Wen bellowed. Heaven and earth shook, and a streak of dazzling purple radiance shot into the firmament. It was like purple qi rising from the east, dyeing the dome of heaven.
A purple spear condensed in Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s hand. It was fully ten feet long, and as soon as it appeared, the roar of an ancient azure dragon boomed throughout heaven and earth. Indescribable murderous intent swept throughout the battlefield.
The Threelives Buddha’s eyes narrowed. The Evil Dragon Spear!
That was a Heavenly Sovereign-level vicious weapon forged from a fragment of a Heavenly Throne destroyed during the Primordial Era. The spear was imbued with the complete soul of an evil dragon of that same age.
This was Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s ultimate treasure. Revealing it meant that he was utterly enraged!
The Threelives Buddha couldn’t help but sigh. Su Yi has provoked a Heavenly Sovereign to frenzy. Even if he loses in the end, this is already a dazzling, unprecedented accomplishment fit for the history books!
But the Threelives Buddha was even more curious to see what cards Su Yi would reveal in the face of Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s fury.
Boom!
Heavenly Sovereign Wen swung the Evil Dragon Spear, and purple light erupted. It was indistinct, but an ethereal, malevolent dragon shot into the firmament, its massive frame filling every last inch of sky before shattering the curtain of heaven outright. Its imposing pressure was enough to make one give in to despair.
By this point of the battle, Su Yi was badly injured and bleeding all over.
When he saw the Evil Dragon rise, he couldn’t help but gasp. His whole body tensed.
Without the slightest hesitation, he revealed a hidden card he’d kept in reserve for quite some time.
A streak of black light shot out of his sleeves and into the air. It flashed like lightning, but it wasn’t the least bit eye-catching compared to the enormous dragon.
But that unassuming streak of black light shot forth with seemingly unstoppable force, cleaving into the dragon’s head and running it through.
Bang!!!
The Evil Dragon split into pieces, covering all of creation in motes of purple light. Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s “surefire kill” strike collapsed with it.
It was then that everyone saw the true nature of the black light clearly.
It was a black sheep!
Both Heavenly Sovereign Wen and the Threelives Buddha blinked in surprise. They remembered the sheep; she’d been there during the God Domain’s Battle for Order, too.
It was just that at the time, few had paid much attention to her.
Yet now, she’d appeared again, only to cleave through Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s full-force attack. Who wouldn’t have been surprised?
Boom!
Heaven and earth shook on all sides. Everything was plunged into upheaval.
All of this was the result of the terrifying aura emanating from the black sheep. She stood there, eyes as cold and deep as an abyss. Her wool seemed to burn, and her whole body flowed with glittering silver radiance, illuminating the entire stretch of heaven and earth.
The sheep’s presence blocked even Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s divine majesty!
“I’ve been absent from the Eternal Heavens Domain for far, far too long, but now... I’ve finally returned,” the sheep said with a soft sigh.
The Threelives Buddha finally understood. His eyes filled with unprecedented shock. It’s her!
At the same time, Heavenly Sovereign Wen looked stricken. “The Laws of Stardust? You’re Hua Qingyi!”
As his voice rang out, the black sheep underwent a startling transformation. Her black pelt burned away, then scattered like paper residue. Beneath the pelt, she erupted with dazzling silver starlight.
As starlight illuminated the sky, a tall, slender figure came into view. Her form-fitting black clothes ended in wide sleeves, and her long black hair was casually tied up, revealing an exquisitely beautiful face. Her eyebrows were curved like crescent moons, and her skin was as smooth as suet. Her thin lips were pursed at a sharp angle, and her presence was utterly cold and serene.
She was like an icy lotus blooming beneath a curtain of eternal darkness, cold, yet dazzlingly sharp and bright.
Most shocking of all was her figure; she was extraordinarily tall and thin, with all the majesty of a Heavenly Sovereign. Ordinary women couldn’t even begin to compare.
This was also Su Yi’s first time seeing Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep’s true appearance. The sight of her was dazzling.
Lu Hongpao was a Heavenly Sovereign, too. Her red robes billowed around her, and she was as unfettered and debonair as any man. She, too, was dazzling.
Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep was different. She was cold and serene, like a Sovereign emerging from the darkness, with cold majesty that seemed to look down upon all of creation.
Each was glorious in her own way.
More importantly, she was Hua Qingyi, otherwise known as Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi, the most aloof and detached of the Heavenly Sovereigns!
Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi had vanished from the Eternal Heavens Domain for a long, long time, to the point that the masses just knew she existed. Practically no one heard even so much as rumors about her.
Even old-timers just knew that she left shortly after the Devastation came to a close, traversing the River of Destiny in search of the mysteries of the Far Shore.
She’d vanished from the world ever since. There’d been no sign of her despite the passage of countless years.
Yet now, this long-lost Heavenly Sovereign had appeared once more!
It wasn’t just Heavenly Sovereign Wen. The Threelives Buddha was stunned by Su Yi’s newly revealed hidden card.
More than that, he was stunned that the black sheep that had been following Su Yi since his time in the God Domain was actually Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi!
It was truly astonishing.
In truth, not long after the Struggle for Heavenly Fate, Su Yi had conversed with Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep. It was then that he learned that the seal Old Lord Gouchen had left on her had finally dissipated.
The absence of the seal meant she finally regained all of her lost memories.
This was also when Su Yi learned that the sheep he called “Miss Baa Baa” had such shocking origins. She was one of the nine Heavenly Sovereigns of the Eternal Heavens Domain!
Su Yi had naturally heard of Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi, but he’d never mentally connected her to the black sheep he was traveling with.
It was to the point that when he recalled all the disrespectful things he’d said to her back in the God Domain, he couldn’t help but feel awkward.
Fortunately, she was quite magnanimous, as befit a Heavenly Sovereign. She never once tried to pursue those trivial offenses.
All of this took some time to explain, but it happened in a flash. When Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi revealed herself, the atmosphere changed dramatically.
“Fellow Daoist Su, shall we fight together?” Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi glanced at Heavenly Sovereign Wen, her tone icy.
They were both Heavenly Sovereigns, but Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi had always been solitary and aloof in her pursuit of the Grand Dao, and she wasn’t at all close to the other Heavenly Sovereigns. There was naturally no real bond between them.
“Let’s!” Su Yi inclined his head. He’d already tested it and concluded that even with external treasures, he couldn’t defeat a Heavenly Sovereign in a head-on clash.
But things were different now!
Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s expression darkened. “This is the Divine Wandering Continent. Hua Qingyi, not even you can...”
Boom!
Before he could finish, Su Yi assailed his heart with the Seal of Light.
Heavenly Sovereign Wen let out a muffled grunt, and his expression shifted.
Practically simultaneously, Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi attacked. She raised her slender, jade-like hand, and heaven and earth shifted around her. Countless stars flowed forth, each like a flashing speck of dust. Together, they condensed into a whip and struck from afar.
She’d transformed stars into dust, making them hers to control!
These were the Laws of Stardust, one of the Eternal Heaven Domain’s supreme Laws of Destiny!
Every speck looked small, but in truth, each was imbued with the endless mysteries of the stars.
When they condensed into a whip, it was as if the entire boundless starry sky had gathered in one place. The resulting power was naturally terrifying beyond imagination.
Heavenly Sovereign Wen swung his spear and attacked with all his might, only to stagger back as the whip of stars cleaved into him.
Erupting starlight filled the sky as Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi attacked once more.
Her black clothes billowed around her, and she cut a glorious figure, like a sovereign of the nine heavens surveying her territories. With every strike, stars fell like rain, leaving countless startling chasms and craters all over heaven and earth.
Her bearing and beauty were dazzling and unprecedented!
As strong as Heavenly Sovereign Wen was, his heart was under relentless attack, restricting his strength. He quickly found himself at a disadvantage against Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi.
Within just a few blinks of an eye, he’d taken dozens of cracks of the whip, leaving him battered and bloodied. His hair was disheveled, and there were bloody gashes all over his body.
The aftermath of their battle crushed the already devastated Great Aberrant Ruins, overturning the dome of heaven. Everything was plunged into upheaval.
Apocalyptic, terrifying visions played out throughout the skies of the Divine Wandering Continent
Su Yi sighed to himself. Heavenly Sovereigns really are Heavenly Sovereigns. They can agitate the mysteries of the heavens and overturn entire regions with such ease!
And Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep... No, Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi... is extraordinary, too. I cannot help but sigh with admiration!
Suddenly, Heavenly Sovereign Wen bellowed, his voice booming throughout heaven and earth. “Threelives Buddha, are you still planning to just stand back and watch? If you don’t attack now, there’s no way you’ll get another chance to take Su Yi down today!”
