Academy City Outer Ring, Tree-lined Inn, Lobby
"Cheers!"
With Ji Xiaoge’s snow-white wings suddenly spreading open, Motan, Jadka, Ya Ya, Cordova, Liyade Lin·Blood Maple·L·Diesel, Scarlett Diesel, Master Guna, and Master Gaist raised their glasses together, clinking them passionately in the air and splashing quite a bit of foam.
"Sold out!"
Ji Xiaoge screamed excitedly and then gulped down the fruit wine in her hand, which wasn’t very high in alcohol content, fluttering her wings to hover above the long table in the center of the lobby, raising her arm high and shouting: "Sold out!"
"Ohhhhhh!"
Cordova, Ya Ya, and Scarlett Diesel simultaneously raised their cups and cried out strangely.
"Unbelievable..."
Master Guna, who spent most of the time with a cigarette in her mouth and a calm expression, was unusually smoke-free today. She firmly clutched a stack of lists, her magnetic voiced trembling, "They actually all sold... in such a short time, all sold... Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God."
In contrast, Master Gaist, also a Great Craftsman, appeared much more composed; he did not share Master Guna’s dazed demeanor, nor did he tremble when speaking, he simply murmured incessantly: "Nine hundred and thirty thousand... nine hundred and thirty thousand... and an additional seven hundred and fifty thousand in margin... margin... seven hundred and fifty thousand... adding... together... one million six hundred and eighty thousand... one million six hundred and eighty thousand... one million six hundred and eighty thousand..."
Well, this uncle seems worse off than Master Guna.
"So much money... Hey! Night Song, flying so high, aren’t you afraid... Oh, oh, you wore safety pants, that’s fine then, cheers~"
Scarlett Diesel, petite in stature, whistled, then raised her glass towards Ji Xiaoge in mid-air. Today, she wasn’t dressed in the usual Diesel Family-style Heavy Armor·Fantasy Thickened Edition that Motan and others often saw but rather more casual in short pants and shirt. Despite her efficient-looking short hair, this small-statured girl somehow exuded a wild charm, not gaudy but surpassingly alluring.
Ji Xiaoge grinned and made a scissor gesture at Scarlett, gulping down another half glass of fruit wine: "Cheers!"
"Really good, doing R&D is really good."
Scarlett smacked her lips, wrapped her arm around Liya Delin seated beside her who seemed a bit reserved, sighing and complaining: "Look at them, Sister Liya, staying at home tinkering with machines and making millions, and look at us... Black Dragon Colton is good, but even if we stopped training them and just had them breeding all year, in four years we couldn’t yield a profit of millions Gold Coins."
"Stop it, you don’t calculate like that!"
Liya Delin glared at Scarlett; she too wore casual attire but was noticeably more formal compared to her unkempt sister beside her. She hadn’t made any effort to dress up, yet the set of black sub-dragon leather jacket teamed with same-tone leather trousers and boots imparted an Otherworldly OL vibe,
"OL is really good~"
In Kobold form, Cordova nudged Motan, whispering in the latter’s ear: "Sister is really dashing."
Motan glanced at him and warned: "I advise you not to harbor any thoughts, you’re separated by a dimension."
"Damn, what do you take me for!"
Cordova kicked Motan, vehemently stating: "I will surely have a sweet romance, and it’s a sweet romance with a 3D girl!"
Motan chuckled, about to say something when Ya Ya suddenly jumped, colliding into his back, spilling half the drink onto his face.
"Mo Wang! Barked too late! Wang is going to bark past the hunger!"
Ya Ya licked the ale off Motan’s cheek, wagging her tail angrily with a flushed face, protesting: "Sister Wang Ge almost got me to eat snacks to tide over! Wang almost couldn’t resist eating them, if Wang barked folded over it was all Mo Wang’s fault!"
Cordova gave Motan a mocking smile, winking at him, "Separated by a dimension huh?"
"Ya Ya drank too much."
Jadka leisurely came over, casually grabbed Ya Ya’s collar, and lightly pulled her off Motan, shrugging at the latter: "She insisted on waiting for your return before starting dinner, but ended up being the hungriest herself, almost dug into Night Song’s snack pouch to eat."
Motan touched the tip of his nose awkwardly, watching Ya Ya, who was trembling her ears while being held by Jadka, curiously asked: "Did she resist?"
"No, she didn’t resist, but Night Song herself stopped her."
The Old Mage chuckled kindly, glancing at Ji Xiaoge hovering nearby at low altitude, speaking with comfort: "Since dragging you along to get captured last time, Little Pigeon has become much more stable; she usually tests what she secretly makes herself now, rather than eagerly bouncing over to stuff things on us like before."
[So why did she still have me taste that baked cookie a few days ago...]
Motan instinctively recalled his previous ordeal, shivering subconsciously, then nodded with a forced smile: "It’s nice, Night Song is inherently considerate; liking to cook and share with others... is indeed a way to express a hope of sharing good things together, although a bit oversized."
