Maya didn’t feel much like celebrating.
The catgirl stood outside the inn as the citizens of Hog’s Cross toasted and celebrated Dinah and Arman.
The three village girls swooned into the arms of the boys, decrying the horrors they had seen in those tunnels, and no doubt would be telling very different stories to the other village girls in the dark of bedrooms late at night.
Yes, it had been a triumph, though quite unexpected when a horde of pigs, monsters, and the group had suddenly poured out into the middle of town.
The chaos had, fortunately, been mitigated when an army of goblins hadn’t followed them through, and the group had explained things to a number of terrified townspeople.
The presence of the three village girls had done wonders to help their story.
And yet, the catgirl couldn’t shake a feeling of disquiet.
Maya sighed again, moved to take a drink, but found the glass empty.
She grimaced and tossed it aside and into the grass, pushing herself away from the wall.
The cool wind of the night stroked her face like a gentle caress as she stepped away from the lonely tavern, looking about the quiet town.
A gleam caught her eye and she looked up. A light was on in one of the tavern’s rooms.
Maya cocked her head, ears flicking with curiosity. With almost uncanny ease she climbed a post, slipping onto the sloped roof of the inn’s porch. She padded to the window and peaked inside.
Ava was within, the elf smiling as she sat at a table, her face lit with the glow of a candle, her quill flying.
She was dressed in a borrowed night gown. One that appeared to have been for a woman a size smaller. Two sizes around the chest.
Not that Ava seemed to mind, the upper buttons down, nearly revealing the edges of her nipples as she worked.
Maya lifted her hand and tapped on the window. She smiled when Ava jumped and turned. Once the elf saw the catgirl, she hastily opened the window.
"Maya!" Ava gasped as the thief swung through and onto the floor, her black leathers faintly shining in the candle’s glow.
"What are you doing out there? Shouldn’t you be at the party?"
"I’m not much of a party girl," Maya said. She glanced at the paper Ava had been working on. "Writing?"
"Mhmm! I’m just finishing off my article. It’s going to be amazing! Everyone’s gonna hear about our adventures and heroism in the goblin tunnels!"
Maya smiled without much feeling. "Then, you’ll be heading back to New Larrin?"
"Yup! Gotta get back to work," Ava said.
"Oh," Maya said, a strange feeling of sadness settling on her. She realized she’d miss the elf, despite their short time together. She sat down on the edge of the bed, leaning forward, arms dangling between her legs. "That’s good."
"Since you’re here, though, I should ask a few things. Do you know what’s going to happen to the creatures Dinah saved?"
"The monsters?" Maya shrugged. "Dinah said she’d bring them to her temple. Apparently their priestesses can ’help them’ or something," she said, though the cat girl had a feeling Dinah’s cult would be helping themselves to some monster pig cock.
"Arman is going with her. And I’ll be taking a report back to the guild about the tunnels. But I doubt much is going to happen there. They won’t believe us."
"They won’t?"
"No," Maya sighed. "See, Ava, adventurers like the Red Claws? We don’t do missions like this. They’re too big. Too grand. They’re saved for real parties. With real heroes. Me, Arman, and Dinah? We’re C class. We don’t save towns from armies. Don’t foil nefarious plots of long disbanded evil empires. We kill rats in basements for coppers and occasionally break up bandit camps. They’ll think I’m making a mountain out of this molehill. It’s easier to think that."
"But it’s not true."
Maya shrugged again. "Who cares?"
"I do!" Ava said, indignantly. "The people do! Don’t you worry, Maya, when my story goes out, everyone will know what happened!"
"Ah yes," Maya said. "In that very well-regarded paper of the Morning Wood."
"Yeah!"
Maya chuckled. And yet, the elf’s earnestness did make her feel better, strangely. Among other things.
Maya again found her eyes trained on Ava’s breasts. The way those plump orbs threatened to burst from her too-small bodice. She recalled the sight of Ava, naked in the cave. Of being pawed by Dinah outside the field.
"Maya?"
"I had a bit to drink," Maya said, rising. "Catnip wine. Uncommon around here, but they had an old bottle. It was pretty good. Good taste."
"Yeah?" Ava said, and though her mind didn’t seem to have caught up with what was happening, her body had. Maya could see the elf’s tongue lick her lips. Her breasts strain her top with deepening breaths as Ava leaned back against the table.
"Yeah," Maya purred, planting her hands on either side of the elf, trapping her, Maya’s modest breasts pressing against Ava’s generous ones as the catgirl leaned in. "But I think I want... something sweeter..."
"Oh, um, I can go downstairs if you want. The bartender was really nice to me and if I mmmm!"
Maya cut off the elf’s rambling with a hungry kiss. Gods. The feel of Ava stiffening, then melting to her lips excited her in ways she couldn’t articulate.
Her hands moved around the elf, pulling her closer, Ava yielding happily, a plaything in the hands of the catgirl. Primed for pleasure. Made to submit and enjoy the wonders of the flesh.
It was intoxicating. Adoring. Exciting.
And Maya wanted more.
Maya pressed closer still, straddling Ava’s lap, caressing the elf’s silky blond hair. Kissing her from above. Tongue probing the sweetness of Ava’s mouth.
"Mmmmmmhmmm," Ava murmured, her lashes fluttering and her hands slowly coming up to stroke Maya’s waist. Her hips. The firm peach of her bottom. Maya’s tail twitching back and forth, curling with excitement at the end. Maya’s cunt was throbbing as the elf’s tongue began to work and thrust against Maya’s.
"You feel it too," gasped Maya. "You need it."
"Oh yeah," Ava laughed, her cheeks coloring and a hint of sweat on her brow. "Maybe we should move to the bed and..."
Maya kissed her again, then climbed astride Ava’s shoulders.
