From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals
Chapter 852 - 852: The Burden Stayed Off The NameThe sentence stayed on the page after the blank opened.
The confirmer accepted a packet whose empty side carried the warning.
Ty read it until accepted sounded too clean. A tired shared-desk worker had pressed one mark into a packet and sent a child deeper into the part of the night where names got eaten.
Omina put the heel of her hand beside the line.
"Open burden by route effect only. Personal identity remains sealed."
The blank stayed shut.
Heissman leaned close and kept his shadow off the paper.
"It is trying to decide whether burden means blame, debt, or custody."
JJ's pencil paused over her pad.
"Please tell me this office keeps those words in different drawers."
"The office knows the difference and still charges the wrong drawer," Heissman said.
Zunoder stood across the table with Ty's old face wearing patience badly. The stolen body had learned stillness, but the reason behind quiet stayed beyond him.
"Burden belongs to the record that moved cleanly," Zunoder said. "The returned body record is still the only complete chain here."
Ty's fingers pressed into the table.
Yun-Jin shifted beside him, close enough that he felt the change without being held.
Omina wrote before Ty answered.
"Returned body record may answer burden. Burden cannot convert to ownership."
The page accepted the first sentence, then slowed on the second.
That slow place in the ink made Zunoder smile.
JJ saw the same small opening.
"I hate that little pause because receipts make that face before finding fees," she said.
Omina kept her attention on the page.
"Then we name the fee before it breeds."
She wrote again, smaller.
"No burden-bearing party may claim identity from burden alone."
The page fought that line. The ink thinned until Ty could see the table grain through it.
Mara made a sound low in her throat and covered it with her fist.
Rose turned her a little by the shoulder.
"Say the work part first, Mara. Leave the fear for later."
Mara got a hand around herself.
"When an exception packet goes through, the burden follows the packet, not the person who touched it, unless someone proves the person saw the warning."
Heissman pointed at her with two fingers, careful not to touch the page.
"That is better than the version I was about to make useless."
"Mine came with worse pay and fluorescent lights," Mara said.
The page took her wording.
Burden follows packet unless warning receipt is proved.
Ty hated how useful that was. Useful meant someone could survive it, and someone else could bend it.
Zunoder stepped in immediately.
"Then the packet burden moved forward to the returned body record. I will answer it."
Caelin's aide answered from the tablet before anyone in the route room could.
"Public script note. No one repeats that as confession, title, or identity claim."
Caelin stood behind her with one hand on the back of her chair, keeping his questions behind his teeth.
Jade's voice came through rougher than before.
"Good. Add that answering burden leaves ownership unchanged."
The aide wrote fast.
Zunoder's gaze sharpened toward the tablet.
"Your office has no seat inside this route."
Waddell answered him.
"Neither is the crowd you keep trying to bring with you."
The page ignored the jab and reached for the wording.
Omina entered Jade's line.
"Answering burden creates no ownership by itself or by implication."
This time the page took it clean.
Zunoder's hand tightened on the edge of the table.
Ty watched the old knuckles whiten and kept his hands where they were. Death had turned his body into a hallway, and Zunoder kept treating the hallway like a throne.
The page warmed under his restraint record.
JJ saw the want and had better use for him than praise.
"If he answers burden, what does Bone Half answer?"
She put work back into his hands before the route could turn restraint into decoration.
Ty looked at the page.
"Bone Half answers whether the warning was hidden from the identity chain."
Omina's pen moved at once.
"Bone Half answer limited to hidden warning effect on identity chain."
The blank beside the confirmation mark widened by a finger's width.
It gave them a place to put one answer.
The page wrote beneath it.
If warning was hidden from the identity chain, clean transfer cannot complete identity correction.
Zunoder's face shifted too little for a crowd to catch. Mason would have caught it. Tessa would have caught it. Jade caught it through the tablet and leaned closer to the feed.
"Say the ordinary version before somebody sells this as a win."
Omina read the line.
"The returned body can still move custody and review burden. It cannot use clean chain to finish the name correction today."
JJ wrote that down with more force than the paper needed.
Yun-Jin's shoulder eased by half an inch.
Ty kept his weight forward because suspended things came back and pending things bit. Zunoder understood the same weakness.
"Then I keep tomorrow if today refuses me."
"You can try to buy it without lying to the page," Omina said.
"I have never needed lies to beat your office," Zunoder said.
Ty finally looked at him.
"You need my body to mean more than my choices."
Zunoder looked at him with the anger he usually kept behind a borrowed expression.
"Your choices are a rescue story told by people who needed you to be clean."
The sentence hit near enough to old shame that Ty almost moved.
Jade let the accusation stand.
JJ let it stand too. Yun-Jin stayed close and gave him the room to answer it himself.
Ty looked down at the line about hidden warning.
"Then enter the dirty parts. I wanted the name, the force, and the person behind the blank. I left the sealed space shut because using it would make the answer worse."
The page pulled his words down one by one.
Omina let the record take them without polish.
Heissman watched the ink with a tired expression that belonged to someone recognizing a machine behaving better than its makers.
The burden blank filled halfway.
Bone Half answer accepted as conduct, not purity.
JJ tapped the end of her pencil against her thumbnail.
"That wording makes my skin crawl, which is probably why it works."
Mara stared at that line until Rose touched her again.
"Tell me what the page just stopped asking for," Rose said.
Mara swallowed.
"It stopped asking for a good person and started asking what the packet damaged."
Ty turned his head toward her.
Mara held Rose's sleeve and stayed with the work.
Heissman nodded.
"And whether Bone Half responded without becoming another harm."
Zunoder laughed once.
There was no humor in it, and no performance either.
"So the skeleton gets credit for wanting violence and not using it."
"That is not credit and you know it," Yun-Jin said. "He gets weight for staying inside the rule when the rule gave him a reason to break it."
The page accepted Yun-Jin's line before Omina wrote it. Zunoder hated that more than the answer.
He lifted Ty's old hand.
"I answer burden as the returned body record, without identity claim."
Omina's pen lowered.
"The returned body record received the downstream result and carried it forward."
"That answer leaves identity claim inside the wording," Omina said.
Zunoder's jaw worked.
"The returned body record benefited from the hidden warning being missed."
The page marked that line in gray.
Jade's voice came through, quieter.
"Can benefit be weighed against the primary-name claim?"
Omina wrote exactly that.
The page took longer than Ty liked.
Then the gray mark under Zunoder's line spread sideways and clipped the edge of his clean-chain claim.
Benefit from hidden warning reduces primary-name weight until burden review closes.
Waddell muttered something too low for the tablet to catch.
Caelin's aide caught it anyway and wrote the clean version.
"No public interpretation of benefit as guilt, title, or identity."
Waddell glanced at her.
"That was much nicer than the version I almost gave you."
"Your version would start calls we lack people to answer."
"That is fair, and I hate that you are right."
Ty kept reading the line. It left a verdict path if they kept their hands off the sealed name.
Omina saw the same opening.
"Prepare protected provisional identity review for Bone Half."
The page opened a new space beneath Ty's conduct line.
This blank waited like a chair set down before asking a tired person to stand trial again.
Ty trusted none of it.
He stepped toward it anyway.
The page wrote the review condition in a steady hand.
Bone Half may enter protected provisional identity review if he accepts burden of hidden-warning contest without harvesting sealed personal identity.
No one spoke for him. That was the cost and the mercy of it.
Ty looked at the sealed owner space, then at the burden blank, then at the old face across the table.
He wanted the name and still left it sealed.
He put both hands on the table and gave the route the only answer that kept someone else out of the fire.
"I accept the burden without harvesting the sealed name."
The page closed around his words.
