From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals
Chapter 874 - 874: Omina Collected The SentenceThe execution blade dropped toward Kegaku while Erebos held his ankle.
Ty reached the block first. He caught the rusted edge between both sickles, and the impact drove his feet through the platform boards. The blade kept descending. Its weight bent his elbows until one point entered the gap above his collarbone.
"Move him before this machine finishes cutting through me."
Erebos pulled Kegaku away from the block. The chains beneath the platform followed, tightening around his waist and living wrist. His neck curse drew a bright ring under his jaw.
The execution blade changed direction as Ty's weapons bent beneath it.
Its mounting arm turned over the block and followed Kegaku across the stone.
"Sadle marked the body before either name belonged to it."
Kegaku twisted onto his back. A chain crossed his throat and pressed the curse deeper into his skin.
Kieran cut the chain beside his ear. Both severed ends ignored the floor and fastened around his shoulders, keeping his neck beneath the blade's path.
At the tank, the seventh notch started smoking.
Jade pressed her sleeve over it and felt the heat spread into the clamp beside her thumb.
"Three minutes and twenty-one seconds remain on the seventh line."
The tank woman's graft released the failed sixth wire long enough to point at three pipes under the execution trench.
"The middle return feeds the pressure bed after every completed sentence."
Jade looked from the pipe to the blade turning above Kegaku.
"Does completed mean that machine must remove his head?"
"The machine wants the mark that makes his body condemned."
Erebos drove shadow between Kegaku's throat and the chain. The curse burned through it and tightened around the skin underneath.
"I tried cutting that mark before the graft repair, and it entered his bones."
Kegaku planted both heels and pulled against the chains.
"You called every failed attempt training because failure hurt me alone."
"I kept trying because Sadle would reclaim you through any open route."
"Both statements can remain true while everyone stops talking."
Ty forced the blade upward by one foot. Rust broke off its edge and lodged between his ribs.
Omina came beside Kegaku with her hilt lowered.
"The sentence is attached property, and the living body disputes possession."
Kegaku looked at the green bars holding the Reaper behind her. Its scythe had cut halfway through the final row.
"Can you collect the curse without collecting what it surrounds?"
"You must identify what stays before I draw the boundary."
The blade forced Ty down until one knee split the boards.
Kegaku put his good hand over the ring around his throat. His fingers shook when the marks climbed into his jaw.
"Kegaku stays, and Sadle can have the sentence placed on his body."
Omina touched her hilt to the chain under his chin.
Green light followed the metal around his neck, passing beneath every curse mark. The ring lifted by the thickness of a fingernail. Skin came with it until Omina adjusted the hilt and forced the boundary lower.
"Keep your skin because the collector has no use for it."
"That instruction would help more if the skin agreed."
Kieran knelt behind Kegaku and placed two fingers against the base of his skull. Her gold fire entered the gap Omina had opened and held the curse above the living nerves.
The mark fought both women. Thin lines hooked into Kegaku's jaw and collarbones, pulling small points of flesh upward each time Omina raised the boundary.
Erebos reached across Kegaku's face for the lifted curse.
Kegaku caught his wrist and kept it away.
"Support the body while they remove what Sadle owns."
Erebos slid one arm beneath his shoulders. Shadow packed around Kegaku's spine without touching the green ring.
"Tell me when the curse reaches the scar behind your left ear."
"You remember which side because you failed there twice."
"Three times, though you were unconscious for the first."
Kegaku laughed once and lost the sound when Omina pulled.
The curse rose entirely clear of his throat at last.
It hung inside a green collar two inches above the skin. Blood ran from the punctures it left behind. A single line remained buried behind his left ear.
Kieran turned her blade until its flat side pressed beneath that line.
"This last root carries a command shaped like the flute."
"Break the command before the execution machine takes it."
Kieran cut the final root before it reached his ear.
Kegaku's back arched against Erebos. His good hand closed around nothing while the curse collar tore free and snapped toward the execution block.
Ty tore both sickles free and threw himself aside.
The blade drove through Omina's green collar and buried the curse inside the block. Light ran down its rusted edge, through the platform, and into the middle pipe beneath the trench.
The pressure bed answered under the roofless building.
Heavy valves opened below the stone. Rainwater jumped from the ground as buried machinery pushed air through pipes that had remained closed since Kegaku's rescue.
The seventh notch on the tank gave a sharp crack.
"The return is active, but we need the tank over that building now."
Yun-Jin hauled Omina's rail toward the broken roof. JJ pushed the pump sled close enough for both hoses to stay loose. Jade ran beside the tank with the seventh clamp in one hand.
Zunoder backed after them while facing the Reaper.
When the final green fence broke across the middle, the Reaper dragged its scythe free and stepped onto the execution platform. The curse embedded in the block pulled white fire from its robe. It turned from Ty and raised the blade over Kegaku.
Kieran planted both feet between the Reaper and Kegaku.
"You came for Ty, so stop borrowing easier targets."
The Reaper swung through her gold blade. Kieran gave ground across the platform, steering the hook away from Kegaku while Erebos lifted him.
Ty tore the rusted piece from his ribs and joined her at the scythe shaft.
"Stay with the ugly one because Kegaku has paid enough today."
"That description does nothing to narrow the field here."
Together they shoved the scythe into the execution block. White fire entered the curse mark already buried inside and held the Reaper's weapon there.
The creature pulled. The old sentence pulled back.
Erebos carried Kegaku after the tank. Omina followed with her hilt trained on the green collar now trapped beneath the blade.
"Does removing the curse release his full strength immediately?"
"It releases his body from Sadle, while recovery remains his problem."
Kegaku's head rested against Erebos's shoulder. The holes around his throat opened whenever he swallowed.
"I accept the insult if it means nobody calls this healing."
Inside the roofless building, one iron bed sat in the floor between open straps and grooves worn by older bodies. Three pipe heads rose through the stone beneath it, showing Jade the problem before the tank crossed the threshold.
The pressure bed was too small for the glass cylinder.
"We place the tank beside it and move the support line through the bed."
The tank woman shook her head. Her graft pointed toward the straps.
"The bed needs a living pulse before it will carry mine."
Kegaku heard the answer from where Erebos carried him.
"Put me there because the machine already accepted my sentence."
Erebos tightened his hold until Kegaku's wounded neck rested higher.
"Your heart stopped during the first repair on that bed."
"Then you have experience restarting it after she gets pressure."
They lowered Kegaku onto the iron surface. Omina closed one strap over his chest while Erebos fastened the one across his legs. Kieran left the Reaper fighting the block and secured his living wrist.
Jade pulled the seventh support hose from its failing notch and locked it onto the nearest pipe head.
The tank woman's pulse climbed above one hundred and thirty.
Kegaku turned his head toward the glass despite the open punctures.
"Take what the sentence leaves, and keep your hand this time."
The pressure bed drove its first charge through him.
His body lifted against every strap. The punctures around his neck opened together, feeding the middle pipe with light from the removed curse. The tank's seventh notch cooled as pressure entered through the new hose.
Jade watched the woman's pulse fall below one hundred.
The relief lasted until the third pipe opened beneath Kegaku's spine.
Something inside the floor breathed against the valve.
The tank woman struck the glass with her graft.
"Erebos left another living body under this bed."
